A list of puns related to "Abap"
For instance I have found Java a bit easier. Why does ABAP have shitty documentation. Are there any decent resources where I can learn basics like open SQL and the new dynamic declarations. I have not found any decent resources on dynamic table declaration and the newer syntax in Hana
Hey redditer, I have today started with my new position. I should here optimize a custom code. The report cause a dump when it query too much entries from db. So the problem is the select statement that I must rebuild.
My Select seems like that SELECT * FROM table INTO TABLE itab WHERE xx LE xx AND a IN b AND ( ( x NE ' ' AND x NE x) OR ( xy NE ' ' AND xy NE x) OR ( y NE ' ' AND y NE x ).
Can you give me a tip how I optimize this select? Is it possible to split a select in that case to split my select query ? Is FOR ALL ENTRIES a alternative?
Hello everybody, i received a job offer as an abap programmer. I am currently learning java and im afraid to join this field of sap/abap. The company would train me from 2 to 6 months, meantime i get paid. They also expect a few years collab.
It is worth learning it? I heard that i better stay away from this filed. How common is to get a job in this field? The salary its enough for the work you do?
Later Edit: thank you guys so much for help
Hello,
I have 6 years of ABAP development experience focused around enhancement, reports etc mostly support projects. Which I realize hasn't given me the in depth knowledge or exposure as anyone would expect from someone with 6 years of experience.
I have been out of work since Dec 2020 and I am struggling to get a job as I am in a new country(UK) and honestly I feel like I don't have adequate knowledge. I am forgetting all the things I have worked on and that's a big problem during interviews.
So I have been brushing up on my past experience and learning newer things like CDS views. Also, I have been training in SAP SD as I thought it would be interesting for me since I have done a lot of development related to SD and I am familiar with the flow to some extent .
Should I get certified in SAP SD or focus on something related to ABAP?
I see all the posts about SAP being a dead end and I keep spiralling without a clue which path to take.
I hope to get some insight here and any tips on how I can improve.
Hey all, as I recently installed the ABAP features for my Eclipse IDE i learned that you need an active connection to a SAP Systeme in order to start programming.
Is it possible for a private citizen to execute ABAP code ? I definitely want to gather some development experience, but I don't have an developer key for my companies system
