A list of puns related to "Zealots"
I used a Zealot as a boss and it worked great, especially because I chose to tell the players what her hit points were throughout the fight.
These are relatively new players and they had never seen a Zealot Barbarian before. It was a challenging fight for them, and after every hit they landed I updated them on the bossβs hit points. (βOk with that hit sheβs at 41 hit points.β βThatβs got her down to 34.β)
When the boss was down to single digits, I had her enter rage, and that alone surprised the players as they realized this boss was a barbarian.
Soon after, they dealt the final blow (they thought) and the boss went down. It was high-fives all around until they saw that she's moving again and has stood back up.
Cue the shock and surprise. And then I also let them know:
βShe has zero hit points.β
This short-circuited their brains for a bit and made for a great two-stage boss fight. Now the objective was not to do damage, but to make the barbarianβs rage end. Overall, it went fantastic and the playerβs loved it.
Iβll still keep to the normal method of hiding enemy hp during fights, but in this case letting the players know the hp built up to the twist and also communicated that they had to do something besides deal damage to win the fight.
tl;dr - consider if you can add value to the fight by giving information to the players that you normally wouldnβt give. It worked well in this case.
Hey all, this is my first post to this subreddit and will hopefully will be my last.
What youβre about to read is the story of the worst D&d experience in my 4.5 years of playing. Itβs a classic tale, one involving an edgy loner PC, players leaving the game suddenly, a new and inexperienced DM and most prominently, a zealot paladin who eventually caused the game to implode. The game also includes a few twists and turns for the worst that make it a little unique, so hopefully it should be a little fresh and spicy for you all. Spoilers for the first few chapters of Curse of Strahd.
At this point I have been playing D&D (mostly 5E) for about 3.5 years β most of my time playing had been in one extended campaign I played with my close friend group/housemates through uni. I was really lucky to be able to play in that game, but as we all graduated the time came to split the group. So I was moving to a new city where I didnβt know anyone, and I thought joining a new D&d group would be a good way to make some new friends, start a social circle and sate my desire to play D&d. The night before I made the move I found a post on discord that was advertising for an rp-heavy in-person campaign in my new city, playing through Curse of Strahd. I had heard CoS was an amazing game so this seemed like a perfect opportunity for me. I messaged the DM who seemed pleasant enough, if a little inexperienced, but excited to get a fifth player on board, which would close out the game.
It was perfect, and I was excited. I spent the entire drive thinking about my new character. I rolled up a hexblood swarmkeeper ranger who was the descendent of a hag. For my ranger, this occult magic gave her an affinity with bats, which became her swarm. She was a pretty wholesome character overall. Her backstory was that her mother was killed by a local zealot for witchcraft and she was forced to escape or suffer the same fate. I know the whole dead parentβs thing is a very played out trope, but her goal wasnβt vengeance as much as it was rising above and carrying on the traditions of her family for good in her motherβs name. This backstory will be important later in the story.
When it came to the day for the first session, my excitement was quickly dashed to cautious optimism when entering the DM and her fiancΓ©βs apartment. Let me tell you, I was taken aback from the moment I entered. First off, every wall in the apartment had been painted hot pink and the walls were decora

I've seen various forns of religion, witnessed constant conflicts between different cults, seen child sexual abuse, physical abuse, theft, embezzling, and extramatital affairs (including religious leaders).
I once heard a "Christian" woman tell a grieving couple that they must have had some sin in their life for god to take their young son. I wanted to punch her in the face, but I was also very young then..
These bumpkins I live near in a small town are horrible and so bigoted that they make my stomach turn. They have never lived in another town or state, and have extremely narrow-minded tunnel vision. They are gullible and easily dupped by con-men. Conversations with them are impossible due to the ignorant drivel that they spout. I am actually thankful for my terminal illness to get away from people.
That's my rant for today.
I'm a Pagan, so I don't celebrate Christmas as either a secular or religious holiday. I don't talk religion at work unless someone asks or gets pushy with their own beliefs, but I also don't pretend to be Christian. I live and work in a very conservative Christian area of the U.S., so this time of year is always annoying with the zealots out in full force. Today, however, I got to enjoy watching one of their heads implode.
One of my coworkers is the most fanatical, hard-core over-the-top conservative Christian I've ever known. He never misses an opportunity to ramrod some Jesus into a conversation and he's always on the most extreme fringe he can find.
Today, while leaving for the long weekend, one of my other coworkers was wishing everyone a good weekend. She looked at me and said something along the lines of "Well, I won't wish you all a merry Christmas, since some of you don't celebrate, so just have a good weekend!" It was a very nice gesture, obviously meant to be inclusive. I appreciated it.
The zealot coworker less so. His face got instantly bright red and he sputtered out "But it's Christmas!" He then darted away and took a different path out of the building and wouldn't talk to anyone when we met back up at the time clock before practically running to his vehicle.
I know it's incredibly petty, but the fact that something so small as someone trying to be inclusive around the holidays will bother him for at least the rest of the evening is bringing me a lot of joy. I'm sure he's going to feel beyond persecuted and will have to let all his Christian friends know the horrors he's faced.
That's definitely going to get me through the rest of the holiday season.
Why allow zealot to lose his ranged weapon but still get those shit boons like "picking up ammo grants..." idk why they did it like this I want my crossbow back
I left my board unplugged for a month while I was on break and I just got back today and after I plugged my board in the charging socket started to hiss and then smoke a little bit and it smells pretty awful, and now it turns on for about a second and then turns back offβ¦ anyone know whatβs going on/ how to fix? I need it to get around campus.
So been looking into Arkham LCG for some time and finally on boxing day decided to give it a try. Got the revised addition and Jacquelin Fine on sale :D
Played the tutorial without much difficulty than decided to try my hand at deck building both Roland and Jacquelin.
2nd round I had pretty good card draw at the start. Roland was going around shooting up any cultists that spawned getting clues and Jacquelin was doing a great job covering Roland. The high point was the hunter spawning attacking Jacqueline when she had 2 hypnotic gazes in hand, Azure Flames and grotesque statue out. The poor hunter didn't know what hit him. I managed to capture 4 cultists before I was too strapped by resources and time and had to bail.
My luck definitely started to run out in Devourer Below. Roland started with no weapons and ran into a lot of trouble with a ghoul before he could get started. Jacquelin did much better using clairvoyance to nab 4 clue tokens before Roland could dispatch the ghoul and get the 2 in his location (also lost half his health). Neither of them were prepared to fight when the remaining 2 cultists and Screeching Byakhee all decided to spawn on the main path when some bad flips of the agenda / act changing. After a round of trying to gear up Jacquelin managed to get Azure Flames up and engaged the 3 enemies killing the Byakhee but took a fair beating by the 2 cultists. Roland finally got a weapon and wandered into the fight and Parley with Herman to get him off their backs. The 2 finally took the wolf man down with time starting to run out. Luck seemed to finally be picking up a little that I had 2 turns to try and disrupt the ritual and with only an acolyte to defend it Roland and Jacquelin tried 4 times to disrupt the ritual in any way and failed all 4 attempts before Umordhoth spawned. Both investigators were pretty beaten up at this time, but decided to try and go down fighting. With just a machette Roland and a beat cop engaged the beast and with 1 vicious blow (and 2 normal ones) brought him down to half health and managed to dodge the creatures attack keeping him up another round (7/14 damage). The next round didn't go as well as Roland missed 2 of the attacks (9/14). Jacquelin tried to distract the beast with a hypnotic gaze giving my team another round). Bad encounter cards had Roland frozen in fear and Jacquelin lost her familiar and robes to some grasping hands, but for the first time all campaign Roland drew his pistol and I figured m

It's not the strongest or fastest build, but it's definitely fun~
DISCLAIMER: I made this build for the memes; it's not intended to handle D-Clone or Ubers. I also discourage you from starting a season with this build.

<GENERAL INFORMATION>
/How It Works/
The runeword Eternity gives +4 to Revive as an oSkill. Eternity also gives "You May Now Summon Six Additional Revives," allowing you to summon up to nine Revives. You run native Concentration while your mercenary wields Faith to grant everyone mid-level Fanaticism. While you will deal the majority of the build's damage with Zeal, being selective with which monsters you revive can result in surprisingly decent damage from your summons.

... keep reading on reddit β‘I started playing Arkham Horror a month ago and in this time, I have mostly played The Gathering. I was too scared to venture outside of it and I wanted to make sure I understood the rules. A few days ago, I played the rest of Night of the Zealot and was destroyed during The Devourers Below. Since Below is known as one of the worst, if not the worst, scenario in Arkham Horror LCG I decided to move on to Dunwhich Legacy.
So, this was a blind playthrough as was the Night of Zealot. I don't look up card building guides, or YouTube videos that go through the campaign, or nothing. I think that gives away half the fun. Though I will glance through the other resolutions after I completed the scenario once. For this playthrough I decided to go with Daisy and Nate Cho. Two investigators I have never played as before.
I started at the University, and this went well. Very well in fact. Until the 3rd act. There were two things I did wrong. I didn't read Jazz's card very well so I was kind of confused and didn't realize he could get me through locked doors, so I spent time just trying to figure out how to get a key. The second one was that while looking for Jazz I just about expended the Encounter Deck and once it ran out, I didn't know what to do so I just left it as is. Which made it pretty easy to beat the big creature and leave.
After I finished, I did look up and I now know that I just reshuffle the encounter deck and take 1 horror. Which makes more sense as the game gets pretty simple without it.
I than headed to the nice Italian restaurant down the street with Daisy and Nate pretending to be a couple. This went downhill fast and never recovered. To get resources I got Daisy drunk and then gambled at the card table blowing all of my resources but finishing the first act. Then the agenda deck flipped, and I was in deep trouble as it sends you to the 3rd agenda card instantly, so I played the University first. So, I had no resources to deal with monsters or criminals and it got worse as Daisy kept having aftereffects of her drink, losing a turn, and I kept drawing enemies out of the encounter deck. By the skin of my teeth, I was able to flee out the back door.
We returned to Armitage to tell him that we couldn't save his friends, and both were kidnapped. We also may have pissed off a criminal organization in the process, but he didn't care about that. He begins to tell Nate and Daisy a story and I had to put the game away to get some work done around the ho
... keep reading on reddit β‘Heya, I only have a bit above 100 hours and I am still not very familiar with all the classes. I started playing zealot today for the first time (my Saltz is lvl 34) and was playing with the new great hammer that came from WP DLC. I tried both temp health generating talents but for most of the matches I played, I was barely generating any temp health. Especially when the team either demolished the hordes or had something like huntsman + Kerillian annihilating all the elites. Do you have any tips for me ?
I would also like to ask, what are currently the best weapons for Zealot ? (especially asking about how the great hammer compares to the rest, because most zealots in my games, if not all, were using the flail)
Okay, I like to think I'm competent when it comes to AC games. Been playing them since Syndicate and watched playthroughs of the older ones.
I try to complete all the side quests, mini missions,POIs, etc when playing the game. I love that they have so much extra stuff beyond the main story line.
But what the heck is up with the zealots?!?!!?! And I'm being super serious. I have a power of 267 right now and got a level 90 zealot barely down to a quarter health before he killed me. This happened multiple times. Different level 90 zealots same story.
I use ranged attacks, usual light and heavy hits, and special moves. I've defeated one and that's because an NPC distracted him.
I've beaten loads of of other more high ranking Order members with little to no trouble but these stupid rank and file zealots are beyond me!
Can anyone please advise or tell me I'm not the only one? I've never had trouble with something so seemingly simple especially at such a high power level.
