A list of puns related to "World of Sport Wrestling"
Maybe I just donβt get it. Donβt get me wrong, I admire Cain Velasquez for stepping into pro wrestling especially if itβs something he really loves. However, however it feels so forced to have these talented pro wrestlers in Kofi Kingston and Rey Mysterio and you squash them to make room for a rematch from an MMA fight just to get some crossover fans who probably donβt even really care that much. The heart just isnβt there for me in these stories. Thanks for reading my quick vent session in the NEW posts.
Hey everyone. Here is a YouTube playlist I've put together with a handful of moderately obscure British wrestling matches. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLJ8mzNPTyv_nnzSY97hqg0XM4N6xACraQ
A little background: I fell out of wrestling for a short while in the mid-90's. It caught my eye again in 1997 and by the summer of 1998 I was actually training to wrestle. So for my first few years as a wrestler, I had to catch up on wrestling that I missed out on as well as study up on ALL types of other wrestling I had never even seen! This is also at a time when when footage wasn't particularly easy to come by so I had my work cut out for me.
At some point in the year 2001 I was in my friend Sam's basement watching various tapes from Japan. Sam would order from (based God) Jeff Lynch and would have tapes with practically anything you could imagine from Japan- AJPW, NJPW, Michinoku, Osaka Pro, BattlArts, early Zero-1 & NOAH, Toryumon, etc. There was a guy touring with Michinoku Pro named James Mason (current producer for NXT UK). James had a uniquely distinct British style. I understood that Regal & Finlay had a particular style but this was... different- even more distinct than theirs. Sam said if you think this guy is quirky, wait til you see THIS guy. The tape he put on was M-Pro's 3rd Anniversary show 'These Days' from 1996. This was my official introduction to the work of Johnny Saint (in a singles match vs. Naohiro Hoshikawa). To say I was enamored would be an understatement. This "new" style would take over my career- the holds, the sequences, the pinning combinations, I copied it all. And it was a copy until I went down to Peachtree City, GA to train with Dave Taylor. CM Punk, Ace Steel, Daryck St Holmes & myself had the privilege to work with Dave as well as Fit Finlay & William Regal. That's where I actually learned these techniques (rather than just emulating what I had watched) and I still use many of these to this day. John would go on to become an idol of mine. I got to wrestle him in 2008 and I get to spend time with him at every set of tapings for NXT UK. I can't say enough good things about the man.
ANYWAY! Over the years I've watched countless British & European style wrestling matches. Johnny Saint, Jim Breaks, Steve Grey, Rollerball Rocco, Johnny Kidd, Finlay, Samm

Now, it returns for a 10 week series in a prime Saturday evening slot on one of the UK's biggest TV stations. Will it be good? I have honestly 0 idea but it should be a fun time to see what it's about regardless.
You can see the full roster here.
The show goes live at 5pm BST (That's 12pm EST, 9am PST) and will be on ITV 1 and the ITVPlayer

I am a d3 college wrestler competing in my final season, and would like some advice on what to do with feelings after I am done in the next month. I've worked so hard for everything, and I am afraid of what I will feel like if I don't accomplish what I've set out to.

Yes. The title was an actual quote reply to a someone who legitimately said that AEW wasnβt really βsportsβ based.
Itβs time! The return of World of Sport is here to see off Pro Wrestling in 2016. Itβs been 31 years since World of Sport was on British Television and for a lot of that time there was a real shortage of good Pro Wrestling in the UK. In the past 5-10 years however the British scene has exploded thanks to guys youβve probably heard of like Will Ospreay, Marty Scurll & Zack Sabre Jr and guys you might not have such as El Ligero, Rampage, Jimmy Havoc & Trent Seven to name a few. This resurgence has lead to multiple promotions such as PROGRESS, ICW, RevPro & WCPW gaining a relative large following. Now ITV, the number 2 free channel in the UK, is looking to revive World of Sport leading us to where we are now.
The show will feature talent such as El Ligero, Dave Mastiff, Rampage, Grado and Viper and also have Good olβ JR on commentary!
It airs at 5pm GMT on ITV1 here in the UK, thatβs 6pm CEST, 12pm EST & 9am PST. If youβre in the UK but donβt have access to a TV to watch it on you can also watch via the itvhub and if youβre outside the UK here is a totally legit stream of ITV1.
