A list of puns related to "Wings of a Dove (Madness song)"
Being bored with the quarantine, I came up with an idea:
I saw that years ago, you guys made a subreddit mixtape of your favorite Sigur Ros songs, and I was thinking we could take it one step further by voting on the best Sigur Ros song using a March Madness type roster system. Using my professional-level MS paint skills and wheel randomizer to match the songs, I took the liberty of making this roster this roster to give an idea of the initial battles.
Here's how I'm thinking it would work out. I'll make a poll post that has youtube links to both songs each day. You can vote either through the poll or by commenting your vote. The voting period will last for 24 hours and all votes - both on the poll and your comments - will be counted, and then a new battle will happen. I'll also post an updated roster at the end of each round so you're all in the know about the progress.
So what do you think?
EDIT: Changed voting methods and updated the roster.
I love making brackets and was about to make one of these anyway for personal use and wanted to see if the sub would want to do one.
Please share with this your MBTI and enneagram if you have it. πγ°οΈπ
I'd say Heroin has an amazing atmosphere. Very creepy and kinda foreboding.
This is the first round of the Undertale songs March Madness-style tournament. Answer honestly, and may the best song win!!!
About a week ago on a drunken FaceTime with friends we discussed how cool it would be to make a bracket of the angsty music we listened to growing up (I was born in 1997 - think Bowling For Soup, Simple Plan, Good Charlotte, Blink-182, Fall Out Boy, etc). So we decided to actually make it, considering we don't have much else to do during lockdown. We came up with the 64 songs we thought were the perfect combo of angsty and popular. It has completely blown away my expectations, I am really proud of it and wanted to share.
I made an instagram story asking if people wanted to vote on the bracket to gauge interest, thinking the 15-20 people I maintain friendships with would say yes. 82 people ended up saying they want to vote. My friend whom I made it with put it on her story too, and an additional 40 people said they were interested.
We have about 110 voters and it is now in the second round. I have spent hours doing this almost daily since it began. I put all of the songs onto one Spotify playlist and I am having an absolute blast coordinating the whole thing! The music is nostalgic and I am finding it incredibly cathartic given everything happening right now. People have messaged me about how much fun they are having and it makes me feel fantastic that I can provide a minor distraction while we all are bunkered down!
TL;DR: I made a bracket of angsty 2000s songs, people are voting on it on my instagram story, and it is way more popular than I expected!
What does a man think of at death?
This was the ultimate question for men like Lord Roderick Staunton. Men who were usually quiet, reflective. Men who worked best in the shadow of greater men, helping them achieve their highs. Men who had time to reflect, to think. The books which one might have turned to said many different things on the topic- In the Laughing Stormβs last battle, a Dornish Lord whom the king himself slew had last thoughts and words of prayer, so devoted even unto his last moment. At the end of the Dance, the vanquished Queenβs last thoughts were of pain and regret. They had several great men present to remember those words.
There would be nobody to record Lord Roderick last thoughts, save one.
His life did not flash between his eyes, only the cold sword of Ser Arthur Belmore, killing a defeated opponent dishonourably did. Was Lord Roderick angry then, at this betrayal? Not at all. Heβd had held such pretenses of honour until everything fell apart. Did he regret not surrendering Rookβs Rest? Not really. If he had surrendered the keep he would live scorned by every man in the world for being a coward. Was that a life worth living? Not to him. Not to a man who had spent all his life recovering the honour of House Staunton.
The sole truth was that Lord Roderick had not truly cared enough about his life anymore to bother with any desperate last attempts at pleading for his life, or to dramatically be a hero. Nobody would remember him as anything other than another cursed Staunton, doomed to be subject to greater powers than he. His wife had never born him a child, and neither had any particular love for one another. His port would endure the 4th sacking in just over a century, but since he would be dead and unable to witness therefore, he cared not.
No, there was nothing that drove him on other than to spite his idiot, coward of a brother and to prevent him from being lord. As soon as Rookβs Rest came under the rule of Ralf Staunton, the plots to remove him from power would start instantly, and chaos would continue. But none of that mattered anymore. Staring at the blade that would cut him down, pain from his mutilated shoulder not yet setting in, Lord Roderick tried to search his brain for the words he had thought of before the battle. They would have been perfect for this moment. Defiant, brave, glorious.
In the end he could think of just two words to say.
βOh Bother.β
And there was no better way to describe his life.
Hilltop Hoods have been pioneers of Australian Hip Hop and have owned the keys to the kingdom for more than ten years.
To celebrate the release of their upcoming album, The Great Expanse, itβs about time we decide whatβs been their best song up to this point.
As a long time fan it's hard to look past their break-out classics from their days on Obese Records, but impossible to deny that since starting Golden Era they've taken their music to a whole new level.
This bracket will put their Obese (and some earlier) and Golden Era catalogues on opposite sides as separate conferences, with the Grand Final pitting our most voted for song from their Obese albums up against the most popular Golden Era song.
Round 1 features almost every Hoods track, and as everyone has different favourites there's sure to be upsets and heartbreak along the way, but it's a Calling down this Hard Road we need to take to find out what song will be Still Standing in the end. Cβmon iβm trying here!
Just join us and encourage your mates to get involved too, because the more votes we get, the more online debate, and the more discussion we can have around these legends of Australian Music, the better.

After every single battle... it never stops, its maddening... THEY STILL HAVENT FIXED THE SWITCH AUDIO BUG... You want to know what this cursed bug is...? Well my children, as one of like 5 switch dragons dogma players let me tell you; If combat isnt ended within around 20 seconds, or an enemy escapes an issue occurs; This causes the battle audio to loop... when does it stop? if i enter gran soren or quit the game, That might sound simple... but do you imagine quitting out of the game after every fight? It never stops, it goes through cutscenes, bosses everything, I love this game, but of the 30 hours i have on the switch version, 27 of those were spent with the same loop of the battle theme in the background... Don't get me wrong, its a sick battle theme... in short increments... Why hasnt this been fixed? i've filed support ticket after support ticket, nothing... This was a day 1 bug on switch and nothing has happened, nothing has changed... Anyone else getting this? I want to love this game and play it on the go, but if i do i fear i'll kill a man with the headphone wire...
Blatant
I don't know, it's just an idea.
Mods, tell me if it's a good one I guess?
