A list of puns related to "Windhoek"
I want to do some volunteer work at elementary schools in one of the cities above. Where do I do the most impact and get furthest away from the touristy parts? It will be in July or August.
I am looking to move to Windhoek for a month in March, I would like to know how much furnished rentals cost, the price of a monthly internet subscription, general cost of living, transport, and fun places to visit while I am there
Please share with me links to Facebook groups and pages I can join that will help my stay in Windhoek be more exciting.
TIA
Hi, it is my first time in Windhoek. Are the safaris here good to visit?
Hey does anyone know which COVID 19 vaccination sites are still open around Windhoek ?
Thanks in advance!!
Hi, guys so I have finalised my move to Namibia now I just need a bit of help getting accommodation in places such as Pionnerspark, Klein Windhoek, Klein Kuppe, Eros, Ludwigsdorf, academia, Aus blick, avis, Olympiia Auspanplatz and any other decent suburb that has fibre. I am looking at something affordable. A backyard room or something. If you hear of anyone renting out a room that's between R2500 - R3500 water, lights and wifi inclusive, please let me know. I am currently working on a budget of R3000 but i am willing to adjust accordingly. I am moving from SA around the 24th of November so I would like to be able to move and settle in ASAP. The deposit can be none or splittable into two months. I am on Facebook as well and I posted the same message. So I came here to broaden my search just in case.
Hi guys, I'm planning a trip to Namibia in 2 weeks. I would like to stay there for about a month.
I need decent stable internet. Can I get that in Windhoek? And if yes how? I need it to run zoom online and teach some classes without interruptions. What's my best play? Does wi-fi break at airbnbs? How expensive is it to get mobile data and just create a hotspot? Would that be stable?
Thanks :)
And any other tips on visiting Namibia would be greatly appreciated :)
So basically I'm African and it occurred to me that for most of my life I have lived abroad (Europe) and not among other Africans though I was born there, I would like to travel down home and live for around a year there, I intend to spend months out a time in a few African countries and Namibia is one of them, leading to my question ...
How much will I get a one room nice apartment in say Windhoek?
Are there more enticing places to live in than Windhoek?
Is there a website where I can search for apartments ?
What should I expect in terms of living there ?
Can I rent car when I'm down there?
I would really appreciate all the help I can get, thank you.
Hi all,
I'm trying to plan a motorcycle trip from Windhoek all the way down to Cape Town. I spent a lot of hours searching for a place in Windhoek where I can rent a motorcycle which I can return in Cape Town.
Thought I try my luck here! Does anyone has the golden tip for me? :)
I've been in nambia for almost 2yrs now. I've been craving some nice Mediterranean cuisine. Any suggestions?
This was asked a few times over the past few weeks so I thought I'd put some real world numbers and facts behind it.
Using MTC, we're paying for 300Mb/s (Megabits, not bytes) a second and it costs 1000N per month. Speed is pretty reliable. I've been on conference calls with overseas partners and they said "we wouldn't know you were in Africa if you hadn't told us."
As for Paratus, their fiber isn't available (yet) in our part of Windhoek, but we saw their team installing new fiber lines nearby. So, in my opinion, Paratus's fiber is the best option, but even if it's not available, MTC's unlimited 300 is not a bad option.
Cheers!
I am traveling to Namibia in October, and part of my trip involves visiting the school where I volunteered in 2019 (Oshikoto Region). I'd like to buy some netballs and soccer balls once I land--where would be the best place to purchase them? When I lived in Namibia I spent all of my time in Ondangwa, so I'm unfamiliar with Windhoek. Thank you.
Hello!
I am just wondering if there is an operated passenger train connection between Windhoek and Keetmanshoop? From my googling I've seen some people stating that there is overnight train provided by TransNamib connecting those two cities, but I cannot get any closer info on this from the websites (also couldn't reach them on the phone nor email). So will really appreciate anyone who could have some additional information on this, thanks!!!
And second question is.. If there some Car Rental company which is providing service around Luderitz/Keetmanshoop area? Any idea?
Thanks!!!
