A hoarse radish.
When deactivating Icefall mantle's overshield you can hear Pyramid Ship whispers briefly. The best way to test this is to go into a mayhem private match and spam the ability.
For the last year I've been gathering and editing these whispers, from the Moon Pyramid to the Almighty. When I found out about these specific whispers I got to work on them. I have a video showing how I edited the audio, but obviously YouTube will compress the quality a little bit. Therefore I have a Google Drive with high quality recordings of all layers there. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1MlSlIGb9p1MglBCAluVxjR5qyTjK2HXD?usp=sharing
Here's the video of me breaking it down https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDzm7Nexaw0
For those interested here are my interpretations, each layer is the one clip with different settings applied:
*This is just my best attempt at it I'm not claiming it's 100% anything.*
Layer A (minimal editing): "This is who you really are." "Almost there, show them, show them.
Layer B (soft editing): ^ with "You survived laughing." after who you really are and "I'll check" now audible after Almost there.
Layer C (Extensive editing): Three male voices one after the other. "?The Heretic? is good in this plan. There/Here you are. Heretics must die......The Heretic ?must not win?"
Layer D^: I haven't cracked this completely but in the first half there is "Whispers secretly, Sekh - Met...She left her....The Heretic, is evil." If they say whatever does the whispering it's still buried and I haven't been able to separate it from Layer C.
Finally I'm not convinced that the actual activation sound isn't a voice as well. If it's anything I think it's "Our Strength." It's in the drive, I don't really care if it's anything or not. But I wouldn't put it past Bungie to sneak it in.
There's also more voices that speak for a while, and without the settings you'd hear nothing. I still need to work on those. If you want to be a hero they are yours to edit.
Alright if you like reading I'll explain what I did.
I use Premiere Pro 2020 to edit the audio. I'm not good at it, and I honestly just messed around with settings until I isolated the vocals but in the end I'm pretty confident with the process now.
For the audio line that I place the recording I use the settings Treble, Bass, DeReverb, Denoise, and Voc

After a pause, I whisper back "I think the Owl People are already among us."
"Who?"
"Holy shit!"
I have been thinking about the Il'gynoth whispers in context of what we know now about 9.2, and here is what I have come up with.
What we know so far about 9.2 and the Jailer's ambitions is that he is going to a place where reality itself can be unmade/shaped. We know he required five Sigils to open the way, and we know now that Worldkiller Iris will drop from him and has some very interesting flavor text.
"A living symbol of despair, borne by the nemesis of a doomed eternity. The fate of Azeroth will be shared by all her children." This mirrors the text from the Heart of Azeroth, which canonically our characters have in possession with them, in the Shadowlands, and soon they will take it with them to the Sepulcher of the First Ones.
You know, speaking of the Jailer, and his fight, and that giant beam of Azerite-colored energy next to him.... "From the earth he draws strength. Our earth. Our strength."
With regards to how he got there, "Five keys to open our way. Five torches to light our path." This has been speculated about a lot in the last few years, but I think this obviously refers to the five Sigils the jailer needed to open the portal to the Sepulcher, as well as the additional five that the player character reconstructs. Two sets of five.
But why would the Old Gods want the way to be opened to the Sepulcher? They aren't even in the Shadowlands.... right?
"Its surface blazes bright, masking shadows below." We are, as the Champion of Azeroth, going to bring the Heart of Azeroth with us through the portal. And it is full of the Old God's corruption. "Her heart is a crater, and we have filled it."
The way having been opened, and the corrupted Heart of Azeroth in position, we arrive at "At the hour of her third death, she will usher in our coming."
The Sundering was Death 1. The Cataclysm WOULD have been death 2 but was averted. Sargeras sword stab was actual Death 2. Death 3 will be whatever the Jailer attempts to do with regards to Azeroth and the abilities of the Sepulcher.
We will fight the Jailer, we will lose, and that is when N'zoth will make his move, whatever form that move may take. And then, Azeroth herself will usher in the coming of the Void Lords.
He heard that communication is key
it's honestly one of the most beautiful and genuine movies I've ever seen
its such a great take on today's toxic work culture how everyone today is busy chasing something that they are supposed to do but not what they want to starting especially from such a young age
It is a simple, and warm movie with great twists and turns filled with heartbreak, love, and finally finding who you are.
I wish more people would talk about the whisper of the heart it really is a gem of a movie with such an amazing storyline of childhood innocence and the soundtracks including country roads is the cherry on top as it gives it that perfect feeling of nostalgia
This movie is definitely one of my number one recommendations from now especially if they want to get into the ghibli universe
I've always considered Dissonant Whispers to be one of the best level 1 spells. It does alright damage on its own, but mostly it's an extra turn of combat for your rogue party member and an extra attack for all the other martials. That already gives it better damage than other spells of its tier, but the icing on the cake is that the damage scales up WITHOUT you having to upcast it.
Then I realized that you can use it as a readied action. Specifically with the trigger "as soon as the target moves into reach of one of my party members." What this means is that if you have a melee opponent (like most monsters are) who fails the save, then as long as they don't start within reach of any of you, they can't reach you at all (they use their reaction moving away from you, and then they use their movement to try to get back, but it cancels out and they can't get close enough). They can Dash to get up to someone, but then that person can just disengage and move away. Probably, the creature is skipping its turn.
Turn-skipping effects are very powerful and usually come with a bunch of restrictions (Hideous Laughter doesn't work on dumb creatures, Hold Person only targets people, etc). But Dissonant Whispers is doing this while ALSO being paired with incredible DPS. I feel like DW is one of the best spells in the game, but it gets undervalued because using it optimally requires readying actions and working together with other PCs.
I don't have much to say except that I had experience this once and no matter how hard I tried to listen in, I just couldn't make out what they were saying. It will stop when I focused on finding the source but continue once I shrugged it off..
Side note that I forgot to mention: I heard this in the dead silence of the night as well as when I have my industrial fan on.. Im from LA so my fan is my significant other lol I literally cannot sleep without it. Also, it always sounds like a serious discussion between a male and female.. π€·π½ββοΈπ€·π½ββοΈπ€·π½ββοΈ ohh, and I was 7 or 8yo when this happened so it couldn't have been due to sleep deprivation or hearing loss lolol
Sorry for formatting, I'm on mobile.
I made a half assed post an hour or so ago on Whisper that said "There's more to life than being a parent". That's it. No hidden meaning, no hateful message. Just that one truth. I wasn't putting those that want kids down, just stating there's other things that make this life worth living.
Oh boy did this guy REALLY hate my post lol. Here's the DMs.
Crazy Whisperer (CW): Wow..not much more
Me: There's lots more lol
CW: Oh? Tell me 3? And you better not have kids
(Maybe a half hour goes by without me responding. I was playing a game with my friends)
CW: Haha see? U can't even say 1
Me: I was busy calm tf down lmfao. 1) A career. 2) Traveling. 3) Friendships.
CW: Haha sorry! Don't have kids ever! You don't deserve them
Me: Lol you're hostile for no reason. But yeah I don't want them so no worries.
CW: No you act like your post is not a big deal.... you have no fucking clue.... even saying that is r******d! You're a moron
(He blocked me before I could respond so my last message wasnt delivered)
Me: Lol you have issues
I'm still laughing at the sheer absurdity lol
Too often, both in realplays and at my table, have players overestimated how far you can send a message with Message. It might partly be conflation with Sending, and in my case partly because we don't intuitivly know how long a feet is. Having it be called Whisper would better convey its limitations IMO.
Do you have any other examples of spells that, by their name alone, often get misinterpreted some way?
I feel like an animal when I write sometimes. Just a dumb ape with noise in his head, sifting through it to find something that sounds good.
I need more. I need a guiding force, something to help me generate ideas that are more interesting.
The perfect example is comedy. Trying to write a joke is killing me. I spent most of my life consuming comedic content, but I can't produce anything. So how, how can I do it? How can I sit down and intentionally write a joke?
Anyway, what's your process? I know there's no such thing as an algorithm or formula for everybody, each of our brains and imaginations is unique.

All guns the Vanguard would prefer you don't talk about, but for real, the gun they should be worryin' about is Telesto. That friggin' gun's broken Shaxx's Crucible what, 10 times? And the Vanguard do not care.
Swear, it's almost like the gun's influencing their minds to not say....anythin'.....
Oh, hell... I- I need t' think about this, y'all- y'all have fun.
