Podcast Addict v2021.7 will add support to the Websub protocol which basically allows podcasts to notify the app when a new episode is available. That way episodes can be automatically pushed to the app so you don't have to wait for the next automatic update or keep pressing on the update button.
However this only works for the podcasts that are supporting WebSub protocol (~30% of the podcasts) and this will only be available for Podcast Addict Premium subscribers as this require some server infrastructure upgrade.

First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.

1. BLOCK SIZE/ 2. MEMORY/ 3. STORAGE INCREASES
The bigger the blocks, the higher the memory, and the more storage- the faster the chain. Basically every chain that isn't already run on super computers can increase blocksizes, memory or storage requirements if they are OK with more centralization and less stability. That's the trade off. That's true for Cardano, and it's true for every other chain.
But how much room does Cardano have to increase parameters? Cardano already has pretty much the same blocksize as Ethereum (72Kb vs ETH's average of 80Kb) and dramatic increases in blocksize will decrease the number of people who can afford to run nodes, and it also makes the network more likely to fork. The theoretical max limit is 28x the current blocksize, but that is almost certainly not practically possible, and no one supports increasing it to even half of that (which is about the most that has ever been tested), because increasing the blocksize isn't free. How critical is it for Cardano to maintain as small of blocksizes as possible?
Critical enough that the plan is to only increase in 12.5% intervals when absolutely necessary. The fact that anyone is at all hesitant to increase Cardano's limit when it's 72kb tells you that this isn't a free trade. There is no plan to ever reach max parameters.

Hi everyone! 👋 My name is Jazzy and as the title suggests - I took the JLPT N1 in December 2021, got my result back earlier this week and was pleasantly surprised to find that I'd gotten a full score of 180/180! 😄 I started learning Japanese from 0 on March 18th 2021, and in just over 8.5 months I managed to get to a point where I was able to get full marks on the N1 without doing any specific JLPT study and without having ever been to Japan - by consistently immersing in native content that interested me.
Especially from people who weren't there to see my progress from the beginning, I've received a lot of questions about what I did at different stages of my journey as well as advice/a reflection on what worked well and what didn't. Also, really happy about how well the test went and I felt this would be a good opportunity to reflect on my journey thus far. Hence the purpose of this post. Pretty new to Reddit but I felt this platform would be a good way to reach more people - hopefully you find something useful in this post. ^_^
Side note: just as an aside because sometimes I also get people asking me about this, I do not know Chinese or Korean and Japanese is the first language I've tried to learn. A bit more about my background, I've lived in the UK my entire life and my native language is English, although ethnically I'm Pakistani so I can speak a little bit of Urdu and my listening is also decent (but I cannot read or write it) as a result of family.
Why and How I started learning Japanese:
As I'm sure is the case for many others, I had a lot more free time opened up as a result of COVID-19 restrictions. Alongside my university degree (currently a Physics undergrad student 😄), some of the activities that usually took up a lot of my time were training (as I'm an amateur boxer) 5 times a week, and taking part in/holding various events as a committee member of different societies at my university. Due to various quarantines and lockdowns I was unable to do either of these for quite a while and also found myself indoors a lot more often due to not being able to go out with friends as frequently.
In addition, when I was younger I used to read a lot and I've always loved a good story but during high school and while at uni I haven't done much reading for pleasure at all. Thus I figured it would be a cool idea to learn a language and read enjoyable material in that language, as a fun and productive way to use the extra time I'd g

Hi all,
I'm trying to help a friend find jobs on Upwork, but she only has an iPhone and iPad (no Windows computer), and after a lot of searching and trying things I can't seem to figure out how to get her set up with push notifications for new Upwork jobs, where the polling frequency is frequent enough to allow her to reply immediately when a new job is posted (so, ideally a 1-minute polling frequency). On my (Windows 10) computer I use Feed Notifier to poll every minute for new jobs, which works great.

Things I've tried:
IFTTT - I couldn't even get push notifications to show up on her iPad.
Zapier+Pushover - I managed to get some push notifications to show up on her iPad but the whole thing seems to work very slowly.
Feedly - I installed the app and it was able to parse the Feedburner RSS feed, but it apparently needs to use IFTTT or Zapier to connect to Pushover to actually send the push notifications (which seems crazy to me).
Simple RSS+ - This app couldn't even parse the Feedburner RSS feed.

This is how I feel when I think about my journey with GameStop. It’s been a wild fucking ride and I’ll always think fondly on my time here. When I became a moderator, I put every part of myself into it. I live an extremely purposeful life and I try my best to make positive change wherever I am. Because of how important our plight is to me, I gave quite nearly everything I could to help this community. All my waking energy was spent doing something for GameStop and it simply isn’t sustainable for my mental, spiritual, or financial health.
Just to give you an idea of the shit I went through: I moved to NYC on July 1 this summer and like two weeks later was the mod drama that compelled me to become a mod. I was trying to get a lease signed, roommates added, job searching, and learning a completely new job ON TOP OF TRYING TO KEEP THE SUBREDDIT FROM IMPLODING…it was extremely fucking stressful…

We’re doing a lot of good, but there’s also too much toxicity right now. People are anxious and worried. Many of us have put our literal life savings into this. there are so many neat aspects to solarpunk. per this groups description:
aesthetics, afrofuturism, art, cooperatives, DIY, ecological restoration, engineering, speculative fiction, ecofuturism, gardening, geodesic domes, green architecture, green design, green energy, indigenous practices, intentional community, makerspaces, materials science, music, permaculture, repair cafes, solar power, sustainability, tree planting, urban planning, volunteering, 3D printing
and yet it seems the vast majority of discussions in here are tired, rehashed political arguments about communism, capitalism, anarchism, etc. even seemingly solarpunk relevant are often posted with an unnecessary, polarizing political jab. there’s so much more we could discussing here constructively, independent of politics.
let me ask you this, when was the last a political discourse with a stranger online drastically changed your mind about your own political views? when’s the last time you changed someone’s political views by arguing online? probably never.
are politics a part of solarpunk? sure, nothing exists in a political vacuum. but there are so many other aspects of what solarpunk is that are inspirational and not as polarizing.
let’s focus on what we can all build together despite our differences, rather than beating each other down unproductively. there are other subs to argue politics on.
this stubborn obsession some of you all have with dragging politics into ever corner of the web is exhausting. it’s only a matter of time before this sub implodes like r/antiwork did. it was an explicitly political sub that imploded because of politics - what makes you think r/solarpunk would be immune from this?

For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
