A list of puns related to "WWE Heat"
The notes below are from the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter by Dave Meltzer. These are all paraphrased as per rules as I saw someone else's thread got deleted for direct quoting.
The Rock is not locked in for any specific WrestleMania because of his schedule. It's impossible to know when he may or may not be available so far in advance, particularly for 2023 in Los Angeles given he supposedly wants to bring the XFL back that year in addition to all of his movie work. The "feeling" is that WWE wants Reigns-Rock at Mania in 2023 if possible. He speculates that "would seem to mean" Reigns-Lesnar for 2022.
Brock Lesnar's SummerSlam return was "a deal put together at the last minute" for 8-12 matches, though he was always going to come back for another Reigns match/feud. Lesnar did not pit WWE against UFC or anyone else this time in negotiations but rather WWE against itself given he is content nowadays, does not need the money and would only come back if it was a significant payday. CM Punk's return "absolutely played into the timing" but Meltzer seems to indicate it did not affect the pay.
There's "heat in certain circles" for negative comments Riddle made on Bleacher Report about Reigns. The comments appeared to be in kayfabe but were not storyline related given they are on opposite brands. Riddle is not great at backstage politics and needs to be smarter in knowing what to say and what not to say to get a reaction despite being a great talent and worker himself. Meltzer said Reigns is right that CM Punk does not move the needle like Rock and Cena ("as great as Punk's return was, from a numbers standpoint that is true") but Riddle commenting that Reigns doesn't move the needle himself even in kayfabe while propping up RK-Bro was not necessarily smart or received well.
People Meltzer knows in WWE who would have received the Adam Cole memo reported by Mike Johnson (PWInsider) did not get such a memo. However, he doesn't doubt that such a memo could exist given his contract expired 8/27. People in WWE marketing have not been told to "get rid of plans for Cole," though they are frequently the last people to know.
Doc Gallows βTheyβre [AEW] not afraid to put some of these awesome veterans, legends on TV"
IWC "WWE rely on legends and old stars. Its pathetic. They need to invest in youth"
Oh wait, she beat Becky, the champion, in a non-title dark match after the show to send the live crowd home happy? WHY WASN'T THIS ON THE SHOW???!!!
