A list of puns related to "Visual merchandising"
Hey guys.. Newly joined as I just discovered this sub. I know its not big or very active but thought I'd ask anyway.
I am an active retail entrepreneur, and a past retail academic. It seems to me that the state of VM training is pretty sad. Either very shallow (the display should be tidy) to confused.
I'm getting older now, and have resources and knowledge to share and am thinking of putting together in a training program. I don't really want to focus on the 'how' (like how to use a pipe cleaner to hold xyz together) but rather on the WHY and the WHAT.
But before I get ahead of myself, I thought I'd ask y'all what you would either like or would have liked (before you knew all you know now) to see in a program?
Any feedback / input would be appreciated - DMs open.
Cheers
Any advice or know what questions will be asked for VML position? I have an interview this week at my store and Iβm probably overthinking it. Thanks!!
Visual Merchandising is integral for retail. However, its significance has increased today because of competition. In other words, customers have many choices nowadays when it comes to shopping. Further, consumers today have high expectations from the stores that they shop from. However, visual merchandising has its own challenges that retailers need to overcome**.**
In this article, we, the Teranoid content marketing team, shall discuss the ways that shall help retailers overcome Visual Merchandising Challenges.
Certainly, retailers need to take full advantage of their store space. Further, they must also keep in mind that they should keep enough space for the customers to walk freely in the store. Moreover, they should also ensure that the displays take less amount of space in the store. This will ensure free space for the customers which should be the prime concern of the retailers. Moreover, retailers also need to focus on the placement of the products. That is to say, they need to see which products need to be placed at the bottom of the shelf. In the same vein, they need to see which products need to be placed on the top shelves. In short, retailers need to see how much space they have and how they can utilize the space that amount of space practically and cleverly.
It should be possible for retailers to keep moving the products. That is to say, the storeβs displays should be flexible. In short, the popularity and the demand of the products keep changing. Therefore retailers need to keep moving their displays and products. Therefore the element of flexibility should be there.
In the same vein, retailers also need change in their display settings. That is to say, the placement of displays that was appropriate for one season might not be appropriate for the other one. For example, in holiday season, when the traffic increases, retailers will have to adjust their displays according to that, giving more space for customers to move.
Displays should be strongly built. That is to say, they should be long-lasting so that they can be used for other purposes as well. Having said that, the shelves and displays must not be highly expensive, but they should also not be of s

I am looking to get into visual merchandising trough entry level roles like Assistant Visual Merchandiser, Junior Visual Mechandier, Display Assistant or Window Dresser. My academic background is a creative one with a specific focus on branding and graphic design for fashion and I've also recently concluded a one year course in Visual Merchandising. The internet and friends have told me that the best way to get in is through gaining experience as a sales assistant, helping maintaining the store; I have plenty of experience on that front as well, as I've been able to take part in store maintenance, mannequin dressing and window displays at my various jobs and even have examples on display on my portfolio site. Right now I am quite frankly tired of continuously working as a sales assistant and would really like to upgrade to the next level of my career plan, I have been applying to many positions but mostly got rejected or ghosted, and I really don't know why. I have tried my best to follow all the advice I've received from people and websites on how to craft a resume and cover letter but it just doesn't seem to be working. The CV I currently have is quite minimalist but still has an interesting layout as I am after all applying to creative positions and didn't want it to be too standard, but I don't know if maybe I should go for a more common layout which would end up spilling into a second page. Any advice would be amazing and welcome, thank you so much in advance.
