What if the Visigothic Kingdom survived?
The Visigoths were an East Germanic people who conquered the Iberian peninsula during the migration period and following the fall of the Western Roman empire. The Visigothic kingdom established there would survive until the 8th century, when it was invaded and conquered by the Umayyad Caliphate, after the death of the Gothic King Roderic at the battle of Guadalete in 711. In the years following this, the Muslims would expand their control in Iberia and even expand deeper into Europe, including into France, leading to the Battle of Tours and establishment of the Frankish Empire under Charlamagne as a consequence.
What would the effects on history be if King Roderic had defeated the Moorish invaders and secured his rule over the kingdom. How would the timeline, culture and language have altered with the survival of the Visigothic state in Hispania?

Succession and inheritance in the Ostrogothic and Visigothic kingdoms.
The Merovingians are infamous for not practicing primogeniture and instead dividing the kingdom among all the sons of the previous king, leading to much fratricide.
How does this compare to the other "barbarian kingdoms"? Were the Visigoths in Spain, and the Ostrogoths in Italy plagued by similar disputes? How about the Lombards or the Vandals?

Just finished my first full run on CK3. RP run, in Mallorca, edited the Count's House to House Balti (Alaric's dynasty) as the last living member with the goal or re-establishing the Visigothic Kingdom. Accidentally recreated 500 AD. Not as impressive as some posts in here, but I LOVED it.

Is there any evidence of direct trade or in-person relations between the Visigothic Kingdom of Spain - and/or the chronologically following Caliphate of CΓ³rdoba - and Wessex, Kingdom of the West Saxons?
Specifically, I'm having difficulty finding good reading material or evidence of direct contact between those two states and their sub-kingdoms and Wessex, Kingdom of the West Saxons.
Any recommendations or suggestions for good sources to read/places to look for research material about this will be just as appreciated as direct answers to the question.

Why did the Visigothic Kingdom fall so rapidly after the Battle of Guadalete?
Compared to the centuries-long Reconquista, the Arab conquest of Iberia played out very quickly. Why did the Visigoths just go belly up, and was it more a question of relative Muslum strength or Gothic weakness?

Why are there so little influences left from the Visigothic kingdom to be seen in Spain? Was the Muslim invasion in 711 the only reason for the lack of evidence of the civilisation or were there more (perhaps overlooked/forgotten) reasons?

What were Visigothic kingdom prisons like?
Was wondering what prisons Visigothic kingdom (or other kingdoms in the same historical era-- 418βc. 721) would prisoners not of nobility be incarcerated in? Also, what are some of the conditions inside such prisons?

How did nobility work in the Visigothic Kingdom?
I specifically want to know if there were noble titles, a hierarchy, and perhaps any other aspects that set them apart from other kingdoms' nobility. Any sources where I can learn more would also be appreciated as I am having difficulty finding much on the Visigoths.

A large alt-history project I've been working on; I've just labeled it as "Surviving Al'Andalus". It has a point of divergence in 705, revolving around the fall of the Visigoth Kingdom, and the current date of all of these maps is 1350 AD. Feel free to ask about lore in comments.

A world where the Visigoth kingdom wasn't completely destroyed, and French-English conflicts lead to the Duchy of Gascoigne in French lands becoming it's own Papacy-supported kingdom and ally of England, under the Angevin dynasty. PoD is ~705, current year is 1350. Criticisms welcome.

According to Wikipedia (sorry) the kingdom of Galicia lasted from 409-1833, while the Visigoth kingdom lasted from 418-721, the kingdom of Leon from 910-1230, and Castile from 1230-1715. How is this possible?

The Wikipedia article details how Galicia became part of these other kingdoms but it leaves me confused on how a "kingdom" can be part of a greater kingdom. Normally I thought that with feudalism a kingdom would be downgraded to a duchy or county or something like that. Was the case of Galicia maybe a personal union thing?

HELP! Civ Idea: Visigoths (Visigoth Kingdom of Toledo)
Other day I expose my Castille civ idea, and I took many ideas. Now I expose another Civ Idea:
Visigoths, leads by Recaredo or Recesvinto
I like to do a religiuos/military Civ.
King Recaredo was famous for convert the visigoths to catholicism; and Recesvinto is remembered for compiling the Hispano-Roman and Germanic legal corpus in the Liber Iudiciorum.
I call the Civ Unique Ability "Concilios de Toledo", and I pretend to combine religion and governement or governors (sorry for my english).
The Visigoth's Unique Unit is "Seniores Gothorum", a Medieval unit that replaces the Knight.
And for the Unique Build I think in the Romanic Churchs that are distribute for all northen Spain.
Thanks for your ideas!!
