A list of puns related to "Uranyl zinc acetate"
I made those solutions in August 2019 and havenβt used them since. Theyβve been kept in a 4 degree fridge, should I make new solutions or would these be okay to use again soon?
I'm trying to eliminate a formaldehyde fixation step from a TEM preparation protocol. I visualize DNA (chromatin, not sections) using a sequential stain with phosphotungstic acid (1% in 75% EtOH) and uranyl acetate (1% in water without pH adjustment).
I don't seem to be able, however, to get good contrasting results when omitting the formaldehyde fixation step prior to contrasting.
Does anybody know if fixation with formaldehyde somehow inherently improves the uranyl acetate stain? Does pH of uranyl acetate matter that much? If so is there a way to solve that?
Thanks in advance for any tips.
Hi there, I am suffering from severe acne from last 5 years. Recently I changed my dermatologist. The newer dermatologist asked me if my previous one prescribed me any Zinc supplement ? I said yes, as my previous dermatologist had prescribed me Zinc Sulfate pills, on which he replied not to take those and instead prescribe me with Zinc Acetate syrup.
So, I want to know how is Zinc acetate different from Zinc sulfate ? Is acetate one better than sulfate one ?
Hey guys, Iβm doing some browsing - always good to research before asking your doctor/derm questions - and I came across a product that was Zinc Acetate and Clindamycin. I love Clindamycin, itβs in my curology script but Iβm looking for cheaper options, and Iβm curious about this product.
What exactly is zinc acetate good for? Iβve heard of zinc pyrothione which is also in my curology formula, but never this form of zinc.
Is it better than just pure clindamycin? Or would it be more irritating?
Iβm exploring all options before going to my doctor (stupid referral rules mean I have to see a doctor first before insurance will cover a derm) so I was curious coming along that product.
Hi guys Im from europe and its hard to find sibo sibo supplements. That is why I want to ask how I can find zinc acetate
I keep zinc acetate lozenges around for the purported benefits for the common cold and the like. I was wondering whether thereβs any point in purchasing a separate zinc supplement (say picolinate or gluconate) when I donβt get enough zinc from food or I can just have a lozenge instead.
Thanks!
"If you take Zinc acetate lozenges in daily doses of over 75 mg within 24 h of common cold symptoms, a meta-analysis of 13 placebo-controlled trials suggests your cold will be 42% shorter in duration.[1]"
"This study shows strong evidence that the zinc lozenge effect on common cold duration is heterogeneous so that benefit is observed with high doses of zinc but not with low doses."[1]
"Take zinc acetate not zinc gluconate. Zinc acetate appears to have a much stronger effect than gluconate. "Three trials used zinc acetate in daily doses of over 75 mg, the pooled result indicating a 42% reduction in the duration of colds (95% CI: 35% to 48%). Five trials used zinc salts other than acetate in daily doses of over 75 mg, the pooled result indicating a 20% reduction in the duration of colds (95% CI: 12% to 28%)."[1]"

So basically most forms of zinc lozenges make colds 20% shorter, if and only if you take more than 75 mg a day. For the 42% reduction mentioned in the title it sadly has to be zinc acetate. Also dosage matters: a number of trials looked at doses of less than 75 mg per day and found that didn't significantly work.
Zinc acetate in the 13 trials they looked at made colds 42% shorter.

You should also know: Don't use zinc nose sprays. Can cause you to lose your sense of smell (!). http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/01/30/AR2006013001240.html
Hi all,
I've been looking high-and-dry for somewhere to source Zinc Acetate.
It is a less common form of Zinc supplement, which actually makes it all the way to the colon and can act as a binder.
For those of us with dysbiosis, it's great for binding and removing hydrogen sulfide.
Anyone have any idea where it can be sourced?

This study has some really good research on the usage of carrageenan and zinc combined to reduce/prevent infection in animal models.
They would give mice a lethal dose of HSV2 after using a zinc/carrageenan gel 10 mins before hand. 80% of mice utilizing this survived compared to 0% who used the placebo and 20% who used strictly carrageenan. The dose was very high of HSV2.
Greetings all of you all!
I've recently started this woderfull hobby. online there are 2 ways of diy copperplating one is with copper acetate and one with copper sulfate pentahydrate why is the prefered method copper sulfate pentahydrate.
secondly i'm intending on using zinc shielding spray (used to make the inside of electronics conductive) this because i want to electroform skeletal leaves and flowers, paintng this loses to much detail.
I have used coper acetate with zinc spray but the coper layer isn't verry big (even after 10+hours on 0.6 v ) any help is welcome THx!!
Is there such a thing?
I have been given Zinc Acetate and Sodium Borohydride and I need to produce Zinc Oxide from them.
I am doing an internship and haven't been given any instructions on how to produce Zinc Oxide I need, and after a day of searching I don't think I am any closer to actually knowing how I meant to react them. I am in India with pretty low-tech equipment, as a note.
Any help would be appreciated
I have obviously tried getting assistance from individuals within the department, but to no avail
Edit: As I explain here we have found a solution, thanks for all your help.
Stop me if this is wrong, but I've been putting the Zineryt on clean skin. Then applying my usual moisturiser (Olau complete care Sensitive SPF 15) but it won't sink into my skin like it used to. It's like the Zineryt forms a barrier?
Then I use my primer (Bodyshop) and just end up with a really slippery face! Then foundation and powder.
So, what am I doing wrong? Has anyone else used this stuff?
(I am not asking for medical advice in compliance with the sidebar.)
