A list of puns related to "Ultrawide formats"
Hi all, I'm on the hunt for an ultrawide medium format setup!
Currently I have a Bronica RF645, with the 45, 65 and 100. I love it dearly but I would love a wider lens, and 6x6. 6x7 would be ideal but I don't want the bulk of an RB/Z67 or P67, and the Mamiya 7 is absolutely out of my price range.
Here's the options that I am aware of:
There's also those DIY setups that use Mamiya press lenses or LF lenses with a helicoid. I'd be interested in those as well but the press lenses don't go wider than 50mm, and I think the Schneider 47mm might be the widest LF lens that I'm aware of. I'd love to hear if you guys have any other options that I've missed, or experience with any of these!

My current ultrawide won't adjust console to their 16:9 format, and all I get is a super stretched out screen. I would like an ultrawide that supports that feature, any suggestions?
Edit: For the record I have tried capture cards, but they all run laggy and/or have too much latency.
Some web based video players automatically stretch in full screen mode and I would rather the black bars on the sides of my screen. Does anyone know how to fix it?

My girlfriend made a comment While I was on Nessus about how beautiful the scenery is, she inspired me to share some of my views with you guys. This game is at times insanely good looking and really well optimized for the PC. A big part of why I love the game is how well the port was handled. All shots were done on max settings and no filters or editing has been made. Shout out to r/ultrawidemasterrace!

Had several request to take a few more screenshots in different scenarios, so I made another album in case anyone is interested. Cheers!
Currently using a 27" 1440p 165hz monitor but looking to upgrading to something bigger and more immersive. What are everyone's thoughts on new BGFDs? Some very interesting 4k 120hz HDR options coming out that make me second guess my plans on getting an ultrawide. I feel the flat screen will be less immersive. Anyone with experience?

If the link doesn't work then there is a rogue backslash, comment and I'll remove it.
So I've finally got a serious itch to move to an ultrawide format for gaming. Quick backstory: I typically game on an OLED at 4k or 1440p, and I picked up a cheap Monoprice 1440p 16:9 monitor to try out. Bluntly, it kind of sucks. Even though I've used VA panels before to game on, this one really looks blurry and grainy, but I guess that's what I paid (less) for. My 4k TV doing 1440p scaled looks sharper than that thing. And, I had a "gaming" IPS monitor before as well and was terribly disappointed by the "gray is the new black" thing and the IPS glow. For production work, yes please, but not for high-contrast games.
So, I'm in the market for an ultrawide monitor. Bigger is better, I don't want to lose my expected field of view from my 65" regular "gaming monitor", which puts me around 35-38" minimum. And 1440p minimum. And I'm used to good quality FALD displays so 3000:1 contrast minimum. And most of this is because I'm tired of waiting for HDMI 2.1 to shake loose on regular TVs so why not a monitor? That means 100hz minimum support, which is good enough, though 120hz is better and 144hz is overkill. I've done the research, and I've found... nothing. Totally barren, tumbleweeds drifting across the market, sad perennial CES promises wafting by, etc.
I thought about the Monoprice Zero-G, which goes on decent sale occasionally, but my experience with their panel in the 32" 1440p/144hz display makes me seriously hesitate to buy anything else from them. Massdrop has their "Vast", which is a nice little thing but overpriced IMO. And there are the couple of generic Korean names that use the same AUO panel, but again, after this Monoprice knock-off thing I'm very wary of what bad firmware can do. I don't see much difference in the Acer Z35p and the Vast/Zero-G/etc., and the "batman" backlight bleed makes it as bad an as IPS. I don't see any seriously better picture on the 34" class of ultrawides, to make it worth losing that precious inch, aside from maybe the CF791/CJ791. And the newer 38" ultrawides look like all IPS and/or 60 or 70hz "productivity" use only, which crosses those out for gaming. Even if I waited for LG's expensive 38" 38GL950G to come around, it's insanely expensive and still an IPS panel.
So... is this really just it then until 2020 and beyond? Half a monitor with something like the Massdrop Vast, or give up gaming features for a little extra size? Right now, I'm actually thinking of a Sony X900F at 49-55", and just put up a custom resolut
... keep reading on reddit β‘Netflix has a decent amount of content that is in the 21:9 format. That said, Netflix isn't optimized to actually fullscreen that content to your screen.
I know that there's a chrome extension, but Chrome can only run Netflix at 720p. Does anyone know how I can get Netflix content to take advantage of my screen while watching it at 1080p?
Hello everyone,
I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this question ( or if I should xpost this in /r/ultrawide ), but I have a dilemma scaling the Acer X34 21:9 to play CS:GO in 4:3 stretched. I am trying to achieve 1920X1440 resolution, stretched. ( Just as you would 1024x768 or 1280x960 )
No matter what I do, even setting the Nvidia scaling settings to 'Full Size' ( for the stretch ), Steam keeps scaling the window to fit the ENTIRE window, or a native 4:3 window, with no options to stretch.
My goal here is to simulate a 27" monitor with 4:3 stretched resolution. ( and black bars on each side because I am playing on a native 35" ultrawide ). Typically, if you take 4:3 and Full-Size it in Nvidia, it stretches to fill the black bars on a 27" monitor. I want to simulate that exact res and stretch on my monitor, giving me a 16:9 effect on a 21:9 sized monitor.
If anyone has any tips or experience with this, drop a line. Thanks foe the help in advance!
TL;DR : Seems like no matter what I do, I can't stretch 4:3 to 16:9, only 4:3 to 21:9 - which is way too wide and blurry.

Hi, I started a youtube channel about a month back, played through Outlast, started up Rise of the Tombraider (still running) and I am currently also playing through Prey 2017.
I'd like to reach people with my material to see if I can gather somewhat of an audience. This is a hobby and I know I won't be getting rich off of it (or make anything at all really) but it would be fun not feeling like I'm shouting into the void.
So I'd very much appreciate it if you had a look at my channel and see if there is anything you like about it enough to subscribe.

Currently have a 6 year old 34" ultrawide and going to be upgrading to a newer/better panel soon but haven't yet decided if I will stick with the 34" format or upgrade to the 49" options. Just put together a new PC but thus far have only been able to get my hands on a 3060. Far better than the GTX 1060 it replaced, but still on the low end of the spectrum for modern GPUs. Ultimately trying to gauge whether a 49" 1440p panel is going to be too much screen to power with a 3060.
That said, curious to hear what everyone is running for a GPU for their ultrawides, whether you game at all, and what kind of performance you get.
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
Alot of great jokes get posted here! However just because you have a joke, doesn't mean it's a dad joke.
THIS IS NOT ABOUT NSFW, THIS IS ABOUT LONG JOKES, BLONDE JOKES, SEXUAL JOKES, KNOCK KNOCK JOKES, POLITICAL JOKES, ETC BEING POSTED IN A DAD JOKE SUB
Try telling these sexual jokes that get posted here, to your kid and see how your spouse likes it.. if that goes well, Try telling one of your friends kid about your sex life being like Coca cola, first it was normal, than light and now zero , and see if the parents are OK with you telling their kid the "dad joke"
I'm not even referencing the NSFW, I'm saying Dad jokes are corny, and sometimes painful, not sexual
So check out r/jokes for all types of jokes
r/unclejokes for dirty jokes
r/3amjokes for real weird and alot of OC
r/cleandadjokes If your really sick of seeing not dad jokes in r/dadjokes
Punchline !
Edit: this is not a post about NSFW , This is about jokes, knock knock jokes, blonde jokes, political jokes etc being posted in a dad joke sub
Edit 2: don't touch the thermostat
Do your worst!
I have owned every nexus since the Google Nexus, yes, even the giant nexus 6, and every pixel except the pixel 1 and 1 XL.
They were cooked in Greece.
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
Two muffins are in an oven, one muffin looks at the other and says "is it just me, or is it hot in here?"
Then the other muffin says "AHH, TALKING MUFFIN!!!"
Don't you know a good pun is its own reword?
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.
I said "hey look, an escaPEA"
No one near me but it didn't half make me laugh for a good hour or so!
Edit: I can't believe how much this has blown up. Thank you everyone I've had a blast reading through the replies π
Please make it work with 21:9 format, like 3440x1440 with no black bars.
Waiting for this to be ready so I can buy it and play it (also donated a little bit)
