A list of puns related to "Ultra wideband"
It's finally available. In my area cband has eliminated congestion during peak hours in the business district. Normally would slow to a crawl or not work at all. Now lte is running 80-110mbps and cband 300mbps.
Zoom in to see the coverage and streets(which may take a bit to load)
Remember just because you're in a cband area doesn't mean your phone will connect to it all the time. Their system uses an algorithm to decide which network to divide traffic load on and phone calls are still lte only.

This month, more than 100 million people in 1,700-plus cities around the nation will have access to speeds up to 10x faster than 4G LTE1 via Verizon 5G Ultra Wideband network2. This means nearly one in three Americans live in areas where they could experience the transformative speed, reliability and power of 5G Ultra Wideband on the go, or at their homes or business. For more information, visit Verizon.com/5G and Verizon.com/5G/Business.
I am trying to get a device for someone that will help her locate her car if she forgets where she parked it. It looks like in general the options are either GPS trackers that require a subscription service and are probably overkill, or a Bluetooth device like Tile or AirTags. She has an iPhone X, so no U1 chip and no UWB precision tracking capability, AFAIK. Can anyone here speak to how good/bad AirTags are without UWB?
Hey everyone. Figured Iβd take a shot and ask if thereβs Verizon Ultra Wideband coverage in the Oakleaf area now since they just rolled it out to at least downtown Jax, I figure itβs probably just downtown but thereβs people in here that may be able to let me know.
Iβm planning on moving back down to the area and Iβm curious because I spend a lot of time at Oakleaf Town Center and thereβs typically network congestion on normal 5G and I donβt like connecting to public WiFi. Thanks!
Walking downtown Nashville and while checking my phone on corner of 5th & Broad noticed the 5GUW logo on my phone. An immediate speed test yielded the following speeds: https://i.imgur.com/rs3lhGC.jpg
Wasnβt even aware it was live - a nice little surprise
I have looked everywhere but the only explanation I can get is "UWB has a higher pulse rate than BT", "UWB has a higher frequency than BT", and "UWB has wider bandwidth than BT"
But how does pulse rate, frequency, or bandwidth actually improve accuracy? For time of flight wouldn't a BT receiver be just as capable of measuring round trip time?
I read one source that said the higher pulse rate meant that you can get more distance measurements in so you can average them for more accuracy, but wouldn't that make BT ranging slower per data point, but not any less accurate? Any ideas or someplace I can go to learn more? Thank you!
I have a S20 Note Ultra 5G. How can I tell if I'm on 5G UW ? I'm in downtown DC, so I should be getting it, but there is no indicator on the screen. Anyone know ?
In the market for a new phone and trying to decide if paying extra for a mmwave device is worth it. I was surprised that Columbia is one of the cities that Verizon has deployed Ultra Wideband. Curious if anyone has tried it out yet and how accessible it is. The way I understand is you need to be outside and right near one of the towers for it to work.
First time I've noticed the UW network icon on my Samsung Galaxy.
764 Mbps Download, 55 Mpbs upload via Speedtest.
Smoking fast!
Iβve been spotting some mmWave gear on Verizon small cell poles in areas around downtown recently. Today my iPhone 13 Pro flashed 5GUW and I was able to do a speed test. I got 1 gig down! This is at the intersection of Proudfit and W Washington.
Hi All,
I have been unable to get a straight answer to this (seemingly easy) question. I have an iPhone 12 on the Xfinity Mobile Unlimited Data plan - do I have access to 5G Ultra Wideband in the areas that it is available?
I ask as I live in an area that supposedly has 5G UW but despite traveling across all different parts of the city I have never seen the 5G UW service indicator on my phone. I have only seen the standard 5G service indicator.
Thank you for your help!
I was at Clutch in Venice Beach and was on my phone when I saw the UW indicator on my 12 pro max. I must have been on the edge of the coverage zone. Turning one way and I lost the signal. Couldnβt find a mmWave node anywhere. Speeds were decent. 1242 down and 64.5 up. When are are upload speeds gonna hit gig?
I recently switched from my old iPhone XS to a new iPhone 12 Pro Max. Iβve been curious about 5G (although not the reason why I bought a new phone) and occasionally see that Iβm on 5G nationwide or whatever itβs called. I wanted to try using 5G UWB but itβs nowhere near where I live, however I checked the Verizon map and noticed thereβs service on the Las Vegas strip where I coincidentally would be going. So last weekend I was walking in front of the Mirage and then remembered to look at my phone, and sure enough it showed 5G UWB service. I ran a Speedtest and averaged just over 3,000 mbps download! I ran another test and still got over 3,000 mbps. I just randomly checked while on the strip so it could be faster near a cell site but idk. I canβt believe how fast that is though. My home internet on a good day is about 600 mbps.
