For around the first twenty years of your life, the adults in your family don't want you to have sex. After that, they all become weirdly obsessed for you to get breeding.

Twenty years ago, Alvin "The Zenith Man" Ridley was acquitted of suffocating his wife, who had not been seen in public in 31 years. He was acquitted in part because she had a condition causing her to write a 10,000 page journal chronicling her happy, but isolated life.
I recently stumbled upon a trove of local cases in my area that I had forgotten about but that I plan to write posts about. It's ironic that when researching topics I really don't have to look any further than a 30 min radius of where I'm sitting now for captivating cases.
The first post in this series was my write up on the Donny and Sean Goetchus case which you can read here.
When I was researching the Alvin "The Zenith Man" Ridley case, I found a post by /u/hysterymystery which was very good so I decided to merge the two.
Original post from r/TrueCrimeDiscussion, by /u/hysterymystery
>Alvin Ridley was the local βBoo Radleyβ in the small town of Ringgold, Ga. Ridley was a notorious loner with an odd demeanor. He kept to himself. He spouted bizarre conspiracy theories. As a teen, he rode around with a blow up doll in the passenger seat of his car. Just an overall strange character. Everyone knew of him, but no one really knew him.
>On October 4, 1997, Ridley drove to the outskirts of town and called 911 to report that his wife wasnβt breathing. Everyone in town had the same reaction: βWife?! Crazy Alvin has a wife???β While Alvin was seen all around town, his wife hadnβt left her house in nearly 30 years and Alvin never spoke about her. Her own family was surprised by the news. Not that they didnβt know Alvin married Virginia, but they were shocked she was still alive. They believed Alvin had murdered her years ago and buried her in the back yard.
>When Alvin first married Virginia in 1966, the family embraced Alvin, but eventually a rift grew between the couple and Virginiaβs family. According to Virginiaβs family, Alvin was controlling and couldnβt handle Virginiaβs epilepsy. According to Alvin, the couple resented their intrusion and Virginia was insecure about her seizures, which led her to willingly cut off contact. Virginia herself was reportedly as much an outcast as Alvin was and was painfully shy. She only left the house occasionally after thatβsometimes going to her husbandβs shop or to church, but eventually stopped leaving the home. When they would try to contact Virginia, Alvin would tell various stories about where she was and why they couldnβt see herβmost of them lies.
>In 1970, the famil

Can't believe how hard it is to get my life on track after brainwashing. 28/m anxiety, confidence destroyed, social isolation, can hardly talk to women, struggling w/ career. Wasted 4 years of my twenties taking care of sick dad. I feel so pathetic and wasted.
Goddammit.
I'll try to keep this short, but I feel like a complete. Fucking. Loser. I've been an official atheist for 3 years ish.
I started on my journey into atheism around 21-22. when I was living out of a car, learning to code. Didn't bother going to school because God said I was special and he had a "great plan" for me. No. I was in some stupid pyramid scheme from 18-20.
At this point I'm in major debt, living in a car, so I'm like. fuck it. Might as well live in a car in San Francisco where all the tech stuff is happening. So I drive over there for about 4-6 months and that's when it hits me that religion is fucked up. I'm completely incapable of even going into starbucks because everyone there is going to burn in hell and there's nothing I can do about it. I can't save everyone so I just collapse wherever I'm at.
bla bla bla. parents find out and don't want me living in my car so they convince me to take a bartending course in Seattle. a week into that course we get a call that my dad had a stroke and is in the hospital. He's paralyzed on his right side. Fuck. I drive down to them. 5 years go by that I'm living there where I essentially am trying to leave and deal with my life but keep going back home. I'm pretty much isolated with the exception of work (delivering food which is essentially no human connection) and trying to code & apply for jobs as a software dev.
Finally manage to get out. Still living in a car. Manage to save up for a van and now I'm living in a van... and at my grandparents (just got to get this heater thing installed because it's freakin cold).
Anyways. I guess I'm just venting. I'm so upset that I'm 28 and my life is such a mess. I have hope because I just need to manage to get my first coding job and it'll be an improvement in my life. But right now it's...
TLDR;
I live in a van, deliver food for uber so I make barely minimum wage. I'm terribly insecure around women, and any sort of rejection I take horribly or even platonic friendships I royally fuck up somehow. (Still a virgin cuz SEX IS BAD so I think that's seriously fucking with my head) and I wasted 4+ years of my twenties hanging out in some tiny buttfuck retirement town taking care of a sick dad (I love him. Just... Ugh). During those 4 years I tried to... freelance, work on some "business ideas". lol.. and everything failed. Miserably. So confidence is fucked. I want to start getting out there and dating to try and work on part of this shit-storm bu

Twenty year old woman acquitted after murdering and burying her newborn in the family backyard, not wanting to ruin her "perfect life".
This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 57%. (I'm a bot)
> A young Ohio mother who prosecutors said killed and buried her unwanted newborn in her backyard just days after her senior prom so that she could keep her "Perfect life" was acquitted of murder Thursday.
> Brooke Skylar Richardson, now 20, began shaking and sobbing while a judge read the not guilty verdicts on aggravated murder, involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment charges.
> Richardson didn't respond when reporters later asked her if she had anything to say.
> The case divided people in her hometown of Carlisle, with Facebook pages devoted to it and some critics trying to record the Richardson family's comings and goings for social media.
> A forensic pathologist who testified for the prosecution concluded the baby died from "Homicidal violence." Prosecutors said Richardson had searched on the internet for "How to get rid of a baby." They played video for the jury of a police interview in which Richardson said the baby might have moved and made noises.
> Julie Kraft, an assistant prosecutor, suggested that besides wanting to please authorities, Richardson's desire to please her family and boyfriend and fear of them abandoning her could have motivated her to commit extreme acts.

I have lived in NY/NJ all my life (30m), and for TWENTY YEARS, I have NEVER watched a Vikings game with another Vikings fan.
One of my brothers is a 9ers fan (lives in SF), my parents don't care, and my other brother is a pseudo-Packers fan just fuck with me, but he doesn't care about sports.
My wife doesn't care about sports. I am grooming my 2 y/o girl to be a skoldier. Other than that? Jets fans, Giants fans, Eagles fans (FTE), and Pats fans.
I am working on my Phd, wife is a Doctor - never had time to go out to watch the game.
My wife is taking my daughter on Sunday to visit her Mom. For the love of god, someone convince me to go to a Vikings bar in NYC to watch Vikings vs Chiefs with some actual skoldiers.....
Edit: So, if I were to go, I'm looking for a bar in NYC where other people will be to cheer on the Vikes. I will even buy new paraphernalia for the event.

The short life and mysterious death of Alice Anderson who was found dead at 29 years old, Alice Anderson was many things: mechanic, inventor, owner of Australiaβs first all-women garage, chauffeur to the stars and a celebrity of Melbourneβs Roaring Twenties
> The coroner at the time ruled that Anderson died while she was cleaning a gun, but Smith said Anderson's family, and relatives of her employees, supplied information that suggest different conclusions.
Historian Loretta Smith has started a Facebook page, Alice Anderson Garage Girl, to highlight the story of the sassy, exuberant Anderson. And in an as-yet-unpublished book, she challenges the finding that Anderson's death in 1926 was an accident.
