It was a warm Monday morning on August 23rd almost a month back, when seemingly for no reason – GOEV shot up from ~$5.9 to ~$8, a 30% gain on the day. The next day – GME popped, for a 30% gain as well, with AMC and BB also making up big gains, leading to the ‘meme mania’ we’ve been experiencing for the last couple of weeks.

Why’d this happen? Well there were no company/industry catalysts. The only event that seemed to occur in the prior week was the expiration of monthly options. One of the theories going around is that there’s an almost quarterly cycle going on at this point where FTD’s are leading to a surge in prices in the next cycle for ‘meme stocks’ which tend to be heavily shorted for the most part. How accurate this is I have no clue and whether this applies to GOEV I don’t know, haven’t investigated that particular theory but there’s plenty of posts/comments floating around for you to look into if you’re so inclined.

The quick point I’m trying to make here is that if a heavily shorted stock is popping 30% in a day, with no major catalyst for the industry or the company in question – and that company is now advancing towards realizing its major milestones with favorable tailwinds expected for the sector, it could pop a lot more than 30% in the months to come. GOEV is among the youngest EV companies - having been around for less than 5 years, with arguably the most unique vehicles coming out (on schedule – seems to be pretty amazing in the EV space) that very few, if any, of the established or other up and coming competitors are producing, and has been shorted more it seems – for the failure of its peers than any real fault of its own.

You may already have proof. If you received an Ontario receipt following vaccination you may use that to prove you are fully vaccinated.

As part of Paysafe’s preparations for the next phase of growth, the company has undergone a complete management overhaul. Along with replacing nearly all the Board of Directors, in the last two years, they’ve hired a new CEO, new CFO, new CTO, new CIO, new CRO and new CISO. They’ve hired PayPal’s Chief Risk Officer and have also filled key division CEO positions with Facebook’s Head of Payments and Amazon Intl’s Head of Payments. This does not sound like an operation with a passive outlook.

Still, many are rightfully frustrated that management has done little publicly to support the share price since going public. Despite a steady supply of positive news, the CEO has not once meaningfully engaged the media to highlight Paysafe’s value story. It may be that management is deliberately downplaying its messaging while shares move from short-term trader’s hands to those of value-seeking funds in order to better secure long-term share value. Or, they are simply focused on producing the numbers.

Regardless, what management may lack in public storytelling, it makes up for in execution. Hi all! This is an issue that has occurred to all of us (except maybe a few newbies): You let Mongol enemy get to Imperial Age, upgrade and mass Mangudai, Hussars and Siege, and you’ve no idea on how to deal with that. While we all agree that the best way to beat Mongols is a strong push on Castle Age or early Imperial before they mass 20+ Mangudai, many of us don’t have the ability or confidence to carry out effectively a Castle Age push. Don’t misunderstand me, letting Mongols get to FU Mangudai and Hussars is very close to a GG, but there may be something that could be done to leave this push ineffective. I’ve been working on a while on how to deal with late game Mongol army composition, knowing that there are many situations where, if microed effectively, the Mongol player will still beat our army. But if you feel inspired, you may turn the tide and scrap a difficult win. We’ll delve into different army compositions for each of the civs that could give you a chance of victory. I won’t consider mirror matches. Please do not think I hate Mongols. I just want to give a bit of brainstorming to people who think that when Mongols get to Imperial Age, the game is forfeit :-)

Mongol late game army and strategy:

Mongols get a crazy early game bonus for hunting. With their higher LOS for scout cavalry line, they can “lose” a little time pushing deer to the TC to get a massive food eco advantage. That lets them advance fast to Feudal Age (below 20pop) and open with m@a or scouts. Both openings can cripple our economy if not walled correctly. Mongols can follow with archers (don’t have any bonus towards them, but it may be interesting for small walled enemies, and to start researching techs that will later be useful for Mangudai), or skip Feudal wars and go to Castle Age. It could be a bit dangerous, because once the hunt is depleted, Mongols don’t have more bonuses towards eco, and can suffer in early Castle Age (that’s when they are the weakest). In late Castle Age, you’ll need to be massing Mangudai, so they need somehow to transition from your Feudal army to the Castle unit. Xbows seem the shortest way, since they need most of the techs needed for Mangudai. They can also stop Xbow production (especially after Bodkin Arrow and Ballistics) and do an intermediate switch into Cavalry Archers, who are very good since they fire 30% faster. Meanwhile they can also tech into Light Cavalry and pick relics with the help of their LOS. That would mean also researching

Hello! I'm looking to build a new PC after my rig of 9 years died around this time last year. Ive done quite a bit of research and think Im narrowing in on my build. I've been out of the building scene for quite a while now and a lot has changed since I planned my last build. I'm hoping some of you can take a look and let me know if there are any issue not mentioned on part picker.

A few notes:

I managed to snag a 3060ti last week but am looking to upgrade to a 3080 when (hopefully) the gpu market returns to normal and I don't have to freeze my balls off overnight trying to buy one MSRP.

I will also be adding an additional M.2 drive in the future which is why I've opted to buy the x570 as I'd like both to take advantage of PCIe v4. I'd also like to upgrade the CPU to Ryzen 9 5900x at some point in the future, again, hoping the prices come down.

I will be using this build for gaming as well as heavy virtualization. I run VMs and Docker containers on the regular and ran into issues with the last build I had slowing down drastically (only 8gb DDR3). Im hoping 32gb DDR4 and the 5800x will handle it fine for now.

Aiming for a top mounted radiator for cooling as the exhaust. Will the mobo heatsinks and case allow for this? Or am I looking at a side mounted intake setup instead? If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

I didn’t upvote u/buttfarm69’s VGH post. IDAT posts? Flicked right past them. Having now witnessed this firsthand, I understand the excitement……and those of us who are less than hype with how this effort was handled are all uninformed.

I was reading new (instead of working) and saw a meme by u/CSMbird today that said “According to the Farmer of Butts….we need more strong hands…at 3800 Irving Mall TFT”. I’m 20 minutes from meeting buttfarm69 and a ‘we’ of apes in person?! Immediately took lunch, threw on my GameStop tee and drove over there to see what Very GMErry Holidays was really all about. When I arrived and told the door Marine that I was there to volunteer, I would soon realize there was no buttfarm and ‘we’ was a fvck1ng lie.

After the Marines gave me a tour and I quickly realized they had no knowledge of our sub or why they had a metric fvckton of gamestop deliveries coming into their warehouse. In fact I was told by what appeared to be the head Marine that he’d been doing this for years and had been given lots of promises for deliveries that never happen (edit: FTDs?)…….but these folks he’d been in contact with about VGH….deliver. By the end of the day several asked me if I and any of my ‘friends’ were coming back to help further. I told them ‘I hope so’.

Process is as follows: 1) Marines receive toy requests. They had a bulletin board FULL of them with contact info for the entity and the number of boys/girls toys requested by age. 100-500 toys is what I typically saw per request. 2) Marines receive toy shipments. 2) They break these down and unpack them into sorter bins by age, gender or gender neutral. 3) They package the requests 4) They call the requestor and load the toys into that entities vehicle. Pre Covid Suncor was $42, dividend $0.42/quarter and oil $60/barrel

Now Suncor is $32, just announced this week $0.42 dividend is back and oil $83/barrel

Suncor Q3 results announced yesterday were amazing. Almost 700k bpd production at nearly $74us/barrel brought in $4.5 billion CAD cash flow. That’s 9% of the market cap earned in cash in ONE quarter. $2 billion went to paying down the $15 billion debt, $704 million share buy backs and $309 million dividends and announced doubling the dividend to pre Covid level of $0.42!

The current share price provides a 5.15% dividend return. Boomers and hedgies LOVE big dividends and will be buying hard. SU will be on every list for folks that google high dividend stocks until the SP rises to $42/ drops to 4% yield.

Suncor has been buying back shares nearly all year at approx 2 million shares/week. They increased the NCIB expiring feb 7th to 7% of float. To meet this goal buy backs will have to increase to 3 million shares/week.

Oil price averaged $82 in October, $8 higher than these Q3 numbers. Assuming this average holds in a currently ultra bullish environment we can expect $600mil MORE cash flow in Q4.

Currently 26 million shorts. They are fukt and will be adding to the slew of buyers.

Newly built Fort hills asset has been struggling to reach capacity and is announced to be working by end of this year. Expect Q1 2022 to pass 750,000 bpd.

And best of all it’s a boomer stock so options are cheap!! My feb $34’s were only $1.65!! Expect $40 by the dividend date in December. I’m playing even longer dates to see Q4/Q1.22 results. They will be huge and possibility of oil shortage in that time frame.

Hi, everyone I'm a distraught ocgn investor and Canadian waiting on a Covaxin approval and I recently had a good discussion with some relatives (one who works closely with the Canadian government) on why Canada won't do Covaxin contracts. Her main points were we already have Pfizer and Moderna contracts set for 2022-2023 and there is no emergent need for new doses.

That is a good point. However, through a bit of research I realized Canada is a big supporter of the COVAX initiative and the Act-Accelerator program both run by the who organization.

After my call, i wrote back to press representative and asked if she could organize a call just out of curiosity. She asked me for which media i work and i honestly answered for none.

I described how i am part of this reddit community and while researching about GME some apes got aware of the upcoming Evergrande Crisis and how it could lead to a global market wide correction aka crash aka bubble burst. I also mentioned that we closely studied the massive rise of inflation and reverse overnight repo, yet we have the biggest bull market ever, even tough we are still in a pandemic which massive production chain issues.

I outlined that we see a chance that a market crash could be a potential catalyst for the MOASS (ok, i didn't write MOASS) as a market wide sell of could led to forced closing of shorts as they fail margin requirements due to their other positions declining. Therefore we see GME as a hedge against a crash.

Furthermore we experienced the same misinformation for GME like in the Evergrande crisis in order to misinform people, trying to play the situation down and kicking the can. I made clear that we support his theses that the offshore bonds are not being paid and media is quoting sketchy sources and is lying about the situation.

What is DCS Profile? DCS profile of keycaps produced by Signature Plastics in Washington State, that while often compared to cherry profile, and it does have similarities, is it's own profile with it's own unique qualities.

What font is that for the text? I thought DCS had Cherry Font like DCS Sleeper and DCS Paperwork? DCS has two main font libraries available, there is the Cherry Font available, and there there is the Gorton Font that is what is used here, and is the classic DCS font from the old Wyse Terminals.

I'm an academic statistician and recently started data mining the copious UFO reports logged on NUFORC's website. I want to use this data with my students, because I think it will be interesting and fun. But I'm also a UFO neophyte, so I'm very interested in this subs thoughts on my findings thus far.

Goal:

In line with the "do your own research" mantra, I thought it would be interesting to (1) look for patterns and trends in UFO reports and (2) ask whether or not these findings are consistent with various hypotheses (e.g. most reports are mundane; most reports are ETs; most reports are atmospheric phenomena; etc).

Data Set:

I downloaded all of the NUFORC reports from Jan 1990 to Jul 2021. Thus far, I've only looked at monthly and annual counts, but plan to look at the spatial distribution of the data once I have the time to clean it up. Roughly speaking, the number of reports increases from 1990 to the mid 2000s then stays constant for a bit. There's a big spike in reports around 2011 to 2015 and another spike from 2019 to 2020.

One caveat is that we have to consider both what factors will lead to more UFOs in the sky but also what factors will lead to more people submitting NUFORC reports.

Changepoint models:

A changepoint model tries to determine when the number of monthly NUFORC reports changes significantly (increase or decrease). Such a model found the following time periods and average monthly reporting rates. The ** indicate the two biggest peaks in UFO reports.

Annual Periodicity:

There's a strong seasonal trend in reports. Reports peak in July and drop in Jan & Feb. Presumably, this is because nice weather means more people outside where they can witness UFOs. Most NUFORC reports are coming from the USA and secondly from Canada.

Internet Access:

The rise in reports from 1990 to the mid 2000s precisely aligns with the spread of the internet across US households. So my first claim is that more internet access means easier reporting means more reports logged. This doesn't tell us whether or not there were more UFO sighting, but just that there are more reports being submitted. Luckily, internet coverage

Hier, la Belgique a aussi décidé de son confinement. D’après les rumeurs, New York sera confinée d’ici 48 heures. Les casinos ont fermé à Las Vegas.

En Italie, les chiffres sont toujours très impressionnants: 31 506 cas (+3526) et 2503 décès (+345). La situation est catastrophique à Bergamo, où les hôpitaux sont saturés. Il y a pourtant une bonne nouvelle: dans les régions où le confinement a été mis en place de manière précoce, le nombre de nouveaux cas diminue. Au niveau national, même si c’est occulté par l’énormité des chiffres, on peut voir que cela commence à se tasser aussi. L’Italie est en bonne voie. Il faut savoir qu’ils publient plein de données, et aident vraiment à comprendre le phénomène, donnent plein d’infos précieuses aux autres pays. J’espère que personne ne l’oubliera.

En Espagne, la situation est aussi difficile. Il y avait hier 11178 cas (+1236) et 491 décès (+149).

En France, la situation est catastrophique dans le Haut-Rhin. Des patients commencent à être évacués vers d’autres hôpitaux. Il semble qu’un tri ait été mis en place. Depuis hier la réa est saturée.

Il y a plus de cas détectés en Île de France que dans le Grand Est. Hier, l’exode des parisiens (et dans d’autres métropoles) a continué. Les gares ont été prises d’assaut.

Chez moi, le confinement, c’est pas gagné : il y a un jardin non visible depuis la rue, je n’y ai jamais vu autant de monde (gamins, famille qui joue au badminton, gars qui font des étirements, petites vieilles qui lisent sur les bancs...) qu’hier après-midi. Okay newbies - we need to have a talk about salary expectations and welding careers - Having been in the welding and material joining business for the last 3 decades as welder, inspector, engineer and high school teacher I am going to let you behind the curtain and tell you some truths.

1. there are different levels of welders much like there are different levels of baseball players. Everything from the Mexican League and independent leagues, minor leagues all the way up to playing for the NY Yankees and cashing the big checks. Not every employer is going to pay you NY Yankees or Dodgers Money - Not every employer needs a high dollar tig hand. A lot of fab shops need people to dump weld metal into fillet welds and to do it cheaply.

2. Welding doesn't guarantee six figures any more than a law degree guarantees a 500K salary - Public Defenders in the Midwest make 60K or maybe a little bit more and those people have law degrees.

3. in the different levels of welding there is a lot of other skill sets that the high dollar welders have that get them the good money. Reading blue prints, welding symbols, being safe on the job site, being able to put in an X-ray quality root with GTAW or E6010 every time without busting the X-Ray - This is a completely different skill set than pulling the trigger on the weld gun and pumping dual shield wire into a groove. These are the reasons that the first group I mentioned gets paid big money for critical welds. Critical meaning we have one shot at this, and if the weld fails death or catastrophe could happen.

4. If you don't like it where you are at, throw your shit in the rig and go somewhere else. No matter where you go they will have a shitty all you can hold down china buffet and a movie theater showing the next Avengers movie, trailer parks with your next girlfriend and most likely a strip joint or two. The USA is a big country with lots of places to work and lots of jobs. Pick one - if you don't like it go somewhere else, shit is not going to change where you are currently employed. Side note for years if I could not fit it in my truck I didn't need it. Lived in all 4 times zones and every region other than the far northeast in those tiny states. Sometimes it is just time to go.

4a) if you do decide to move and go elsewhere - you will make friends on your new job. You will find someone to drink with, hunt ducks and deer with, someone to chase women with at the local bar. You will fall right in where you left off

We're at the point of the season where rostering multiple D/STs is a strong strategy, especially when trying to line up a favorable matchup during the crucial weeks.

There are a few D/STs who are set to be strong starts in Week 14, but may be available in your league, now that this week's round of waivers have processed. Consider dropping that RB4 who will never start for you (cough Alex Collins cough), in order to ensure a favorable D/ST matchup ahead of next week's waivers.

The Titans will be on bye this week, and there's a very strong chance that they will be available in your league, after being dominated by New England. However, the upside will be there in Week 14, as they will host the Jaguars, who have been the 2nd-best matchup for D/STs in 2021.

Trevor Lawrence is among the league leaders in terms of interceptions (10), and he's taken his fair share of sacks (20) as well. Lawrence has also struggled to deliver touchdowns, and he has the least touchdown passes (9) among QBs with at least 11 games played.

The Jaguars offense ranks among the worst in the league in multiple important categories, including the 2nd-fewest points per game (15.7). Their run game has been competent, but the lack of a respectable passing attack makes them a safe matchup for fantasy D/STs. When you add in the factor that the Jaguars have a propensity to turn the ball over, with the 6th-most giveaways (19) in the league, there is an enticing combination of floor and upside for the Titans D/ST in Week 14.

Another team who is currently on a bye after posting a lackluster Week 12 performance, the Panthers may have found their way onto your league's waivers this morning. They return in Week 14 to face the best-possible matchup for D/STs, as they will play host to the floundering Falcons offense.

For Atlanta, it's a similar story to what's been happening in Jacksonville, as Matt Ryan is among the league leaders in interceptions (11), while also taking a decent amount of sacks (21). December Community Day is back! We have most of the weekend of December 18-19 to hunt for and evolve over 20 Pokémon that have had featured Community Days and associated exclusive moves — generally some of the best moves in PvP — over the last two years. This year, the 2019 Community Days drop off, but we still have a rehash of all of 2020 and 2021 (call them the COVID bunch?) coming back. But with the sheer volume of Pokémon to hunt down and evolve in a time limited period, what are the ones to make especially sure we don't miss out on for PvP?

These are just my own thoughts based on experience and simulations. I do have nearly three years of doing PvP analysis under my belt, but this is not gospel or anything! If you have other thoughts, even differing thoughts, please post them in comments after reading so we can all benefit from your knowledge too!

To help distinguish between those that are returning from 2020 Community Days — in other words, those for which this will be their last December Community Day rehash — I'll put an "11th hour" symbol (🕚) by their names. The 2021 ones will presumably be back at least for next December, but some of those will certainly still be a high priority too. Who wants to wait potentially a whole year longer if we can avoid it?

I was taking a look at Fall Out Boy's first album, Take This to Your Grave, and I thought it was interesting how unrefined Patrick Stump's voice was. It's not bad or anything; there's just a pretty stark difference between this...

...and their next studio album (you already know what song this is)...

...which I believe goes beyond just better production and more experienced songwriting. I read somewhere that he took lessons during this time period while he hadn't before, but I can't find whether that's true or not.

So anyway, what are some examples of musicians, either individuals or collectives, that you feel dramatically improved in technical ability within a very short period of time, like within a year or two?

The only example I'm particularly familiar with is the entirety of Protest the Hero between 2003:

Heard they intentionally wrote things they couldn't yet play and then just banged their heads against a wall for two years. But, again, can't find proof they ever said that.

Just to be clear, I know things like this can seem really subjective, but I want to stress that I'm not necessarily asking about genre shifts or albums you like better. I'm finding this hard to put into words, but I hope you know what I mean when I say "technical ability". I'm not trying to start an argument or anything. There's a lot of aspects and nuance to what makes a musician engaging, but I hope we can at least agree that people like Tosin Abasi or John Petrucci are technically better guitarists than, like, Tom DeLonge or Kurt Cobain or something, even if you like the music of the latter two more.

One of the biggest concerns I had was with the initial loading times and I recently came across this medium post which comes with a solution to fix the problem. Its a very simple fix and I wish I came across this sooner. I incorporated the change into the website in this commit and the experience is much much better now.

I think Flutter Web is getting better and also with the recent announcements that Flutter will be having a default loading screen(I can already see one when debugging with flutter run), I think Flutter Web will be more than production ready. 🚀🔥

I am interested to know what your thoughts and feedback are and what do you think about the loading screen.
