A list of puns related to "Train track (mathematics)"
Iβm watching 1883 (itβs amazing), and Iβm wondering how trains in the Wild West days knew they were free and clear on the track they were on considering communication was very limited.
Just a cool little detail
So I was messing around with trying to create a bypass for when a train is loading / unloading and while the lower platform doesn't have enough vertical room for another train to pass without clipping, the upper walkway does!
Just place the train track so the thick middle bit covers the handrail and the train fits perfectly with no clipping of the structure, crane or wires.

Don't even have to be driving anymore to have stressful driving interactions!
Just watched a bunch of people abuse and pressure the cars at the front of traffic lights to cross train tracks because the light had been red for 5 minutes!
No one's time is that precious!
Is riveting experience
Next time you pass a railroad level crossing, look for the βlittle blue sign.β
Edit: The sign is ~about 8" x 5". It is located on the "Crossbuck," which is the traffic sign in the shape of an 'X' that says "Railroad Crossing." In most cases, the crossbuck will also have red flashing lights and a boom gate that drops when a train is nearby. If your crossbuck has red flashing lights, the blue sign is located directly below the set of red flashing lights.
Edit: Yes, you should obviously get out of your car to call the railroad dispatcher. In fact, you won't likely be able to see the sign if you are inside your car. So hop out, then look for the sign. A locomotive crashing into a vehicle can have significant damaging effects, throwing lots of debris in the vicinity that can injure you or others. Furthermore, even small impacts at high speeds can be very damaging for train passengers and crew. Imagine a train crashing into a 25-ton dump truck. The engineer is dead, and likely anyone else near the cab of the locomotive.
Edit: You might be asking, "How do cars even get stuck on railroad tracks?" Keep in mind that "Stuck" is the keyword here. It's rare for a car to simply break down on a track. At crossings with gates, if you can believe it, people ignore warning bells and lights, drive onto the tracks and the gates come down and trap them. Of course, they could easily drive through the gates but most people panic and that's where they can't get the car going. Furthermore, many level crossings have an increase in height compared to the regular road surface. Therefore, there is not enough clearance for longer vehicles such as semi-trailers and limos. They can then become grounded on the 'hump.β
Edit: For anyone that sees this 12 hours later, thanks for upvoting. I am just a lurker. Never had a post blow up like this. I hope I was able to pass along some helpful advice to you :)
My boyfriend and I are wanting to move into an apartment in Parramatta really close to Westfield. All of the apartments we like that are in great walking distance to the shops Iβve noticed are also really close to parramatta train station/train tracks. I want to know how bad the sound will be? And will it make a difference how high up I am? First time moving out of homeβ¦ so we are absolutely clueless!
