A list of puns related to "Time and Tide (2000 film)"
This was a movie I saw as a kid with my dad on TV. I think we rented it on on demand or something. I remember it opening with 3 or so kids in a museum going to look at a pirate exhibit or something. Then one of them activates something (maybe) and it sucks them into a portal. I remember them screaming. After they get sucked in, the credits start and a song starts playing. I think the song was done by someone called Nina, because my dad made a point to mention her name and that has stuck with me more than anything about this movie.
I think once they got out of the portal there were some scary pirates or something, I really don't know. We did not finish it because I was getting to around that age where as a preteen boy you're trying to figure out how to grow up and start thinking animated movies are for babies, even though they are not, so we stopped watching but to this day I've wondered if I missed out on some underrated classic.
Itβs called the Redundant-Sea.
My favorite is the mist from 2007 that movie was FUCKING AWESOME!!
I thought it would be interesting to compare the Highest-grossing films of the 2000s to the Highest-grossing films of the 2010s without counting China gross.

This movie that Iβve flipped the internet upside down for was about a man who watches his life replayed to him in movie format in a movie theater in the afterlife. The cinema is old-fashioned, utilizing old school movie projectors and film. There was what seemed to be a character that played an βangel of deathβ role (resembling Christopher Walken but donβt think it was him) where the βangel of deathβ character facilitated the process of this man rewatching his own life (while he offered commentary).
The only other scene I remember was a graveyard scene in which the man (the one who died and was rewatching his life) was either brutally assaulted or murdered in a graveyard while he was in a βemo/gothβ phase as a young adult/teenager.
My grandmother put this movie on for me when I was a child ~15 years ago. Iβm almost certain the film was from the early 2000βs era but their is a chance it couldβve been released in the mid to late 1990βs.
Update: itβs been solved! Answer provided on this thread. It was βIllusionβ - a 2004 indie film.
To be fair, I watched 28 Days and Flight(2012) as an alcoholic. 28 Days starred 2 of my fav actors. Thought it was hilarious when I watched it originally. Rewatched film last week sober for first time. Shouldn't had. Made me angry. Knowing what withdrawal and rehabilitation was like, it was a joke. I have never dissed a performance of Steve Buscemi but I was even ashamed watching him as a recovering counsellor. I have proven that the topic of Alcohol Addiction now in a film for me is a red flag. I'll release harsh critism and profanity if producer's get it wrong lol. Flight(2012) is my favorite film for addiction realism. Does anyone else have the same problem with a similar situation that makes it hard to watch without criticizing because you personally dealt with film subject or you supported someone?
I THINK he freaks out and starts throwing shit but not so sure on that part. The main thing going through my head is that line. Does this sounds familiar to anyone?? Itβs driving me nuts!
OK so i'm sorry if these are not very good clues.
American film, sometime around 2010 or later i would guess.
One woman (A) meets another woman (B), i think they may have kids in the same school. Woman A is dark haired i think, woman B is blonde,
(I want to say Cameron Diaz just because i saw The Other Woman was on the TV but it probably isn't)
Woman A is impressed by B's lifestyle cause the latter is succesful and she wants to become her friend or something, i believe she starts working for woman B, probaly as a nanny. THen strange things happen as woman B disappears. So it becomes a thriller.
Here's another recommendation for my fellow horror fans. Today's selection is the 2002 film Below, directed by David Twohy of Pitch Black and Chronicles of Riddick Fame. It stars Bruce Greenwood, Olivia Williams, Jared Holt, Scott Folely, Dexter Fletcher, Jason Fleyming, and, of all people who you would never expect to see in a horror movie, Zach Galifianakis. The story takes place during the heart of World War Two, Aboard the U.S Navy submarine Tiger Shark, during a patrol in the Atlantic Ocean. The story, without spoiling too much, revolves around the rescuing of survivors from a sunken British hospital ship that, from the testimonies of the survivors, was torpedoed and sunk by a Nazi U-boat. But in some ways, it may have been safer for them outside in the ocean, because some very sinister secrets are being kept aboard a place that isn't very conducive to keep secrets for long, and they may not be alone beneath the waves. The film did not have that great critical reception when it was released, which I find sad. The film is a good horror film for what it is. The claustrophobic, oppressive atmosphere posedby the submarine's interior is almost downright palpable, and the cinematographer did a darn good job of conveying so through his shot selection. The cast plays their roles very well, with Galifianakis' role of the superstitious, horror story reading Wally being one of the stand outs. And the tension to each scare and eventual kill is built up fantastically. You can taste the dread in the air when you realize that something is coming. A stand out example without giving too much away, is The Mirror Scene close to the end of the film. When I started piecing together what was coming, I immediately started tensing up, and even having an idea, when it came, I still jumped slightly. Overall, this is a movie that I highly recommend for everyone to see at least once. You will not regret it!

As per the title, I think the film title may have had a city name in it? It was a romance film if that wasn't obvious enough from the description! :)
I think the plot was very Princess Mononoke-like, where the girl was initially wild and suspicious of the boy
Also, the film might not have been black and white, but definitely very toned down to those colors
Probably a hand-drawn animation?
I remember that they end up messing with the alternate copies of themselves in front of a log house in the same way they had been messed with earlier in the movie. There's a massacre at the end with dozens of versions of them all fighting and killing each other.
I don't remember seeing anyone but the two guys in the whole movie
The only locations I remember were a log house. The radio station with a silo attached to it and the woods.
It looked like a very low budget movie when I saw it
I'd appreciate it if anyone has the title. Thank you
>!So she ends up learning things from the family and becoming more of a big sister than a tutor.!<
I watched this in my sophomore year of high school and it was so fun to make fun of with friends, one of those, "why did they even make this?" movies.
I think it's a film where people become stranded at sea. For some reason someone dives down and when they (she?) swims back up she strikes her head on a boat propeller
Any ideas?
I think it was a music video but it may have been a short film:
* A scientist is amongst a group racing to identify a virus
* A scene of the microscope view shows these oval shaped things (virus or bacteria) penetrating through a cell wall
* The group of people are on an island and under attack by ships
* As the ships break through the defenses the analogy of people being a virus is finally developed; the view of the ships breaking through the island's defense looks exactly like the virus breaking through the cell.
hopefully someone saw this and can point me to this video. Needless to say I get one and only one type of result if I search google now for 'virus'.
In the last few years, I havenβt seen many great swords and sandals films. In this request I will use that term to describe a modern epic historical film with sword combat, so prehistoric / ancient / medieval, but no current day setting or Wuxia (will request that in another thread).
Some 2000βs films I quite liked:
And some films I didnβt like:
Films that I havenβt seen:
Did I miss anything significant? Which 2000βs films would you recommend? Iβm NOT looking for pre-2000βs. Thank you.
NOT THE MOVIE ABATTOIR OR SLAUGHTERHOUSE
So I saw this on tv probably 2002-2005. I would guess it was on IFC, Sundance, Trio or other independent/artsy network of the time. It had that feel to it, but it was definitely quality. It was a horror film taking place somewhere in a vast, damp-looking countryside which reminded me of Ireland/Wales/Scotland. It featured a little girl and I think her father was taking animals to the abattoir to be slaughtered. I remember being intrigued because Iβd never heard of an abattoir before. I canβt remember if I saw the whole thing. This is so bizarre as I rarely forget movies Iβve seen, especially when they captivate me. Hope this sounds familiar to someone.
Note: Iβve definitely tried looking for it, so it didnβt come up in a search like βmovies with an abattoir.β TIA!
I'm pretty sure the flashbacks make up the film and only a small amount of screentime is actually "present day" me and my sisters remember the film distinctly but none of us can find out what it's called
