A list of puns related to "Threesome (1994 film)"
Title says it all. Love the dynamic of the she loves him, but he likes him, and he in turn loves her. So delicious! Currently listening to Anatomy of Iiana and it's ok. Any MMF suggestions contemporary welcome!
It's likely a huge coincidence since I don't see any similar movies in Lauren's "Now Watching" stories on Instagram, nor on her Letterboxd account. But it's a fun coincidence that parallels can be drawn in almost every line!
Just a few examples - from the first line "Waste a month - waste a year." Tony and Faye piss around for what feels like a a month, then she suddenly leaves Hong Kong for a year. Specifically, she leaves for California.
California is a recurring subject throughout their half of the movie. She dreams of going to California so much that her favorite song "California Dreamin" plays in the background about a dozen times throughout the movie. Tony attaches the song to his memory of Faye after she suddenly leaves for California. Hence "Found the song - played it back. Heard your voice under the feedback." It's worth noting that Faye never indicated if or when she would return.
And of course the last line, "Pull me into the screen at the end." I love that it solidifies the idea that Lauren is referring to a movie. Anyone who likes this movie knows that feeling in the last shot. Where do you want to go?

Recently I finished my millionth rewatch of the Matrix and it left me hungry for more similar content. I finally broke down and decided to watch The Wachowskis debut film Bound. Iβd been vaguely aware of the film ever since the matrix release and for whatever reason Iβd dismissed this film as probably a competent but unnecessary film from first time directors.
Holy crap was I wrong. This film isnβt just a competent film showing promise from first time directors, this film shows two filmmakers demonstrating a mastery over cinematic storytelling in a hyper minimalist, contained setting. In my mind this rivals anything the Cohen Brothers, Christopher Nolan or even David Fincher. started out doing, and honestly I canβt believe this film isnβt spoken about far more often.
The Wachowskis essentially take a classic Femme Fatale, Neo Noir crime thriller and by flipping several cliches on their head end up with something complexly ahead of it last time.
Not to mention The Wachowskis direct the ever loving sh*t out of this film where anyone else could have let this easily fall flat and completely uninteresting.
Firstly I canβt not watch this film through the prism of knowing their next film would be the Matrix, and itβs a really exciting film to watch knowing whatβs in store. The camera work and editing is so stunning, they turn every shot into an opportunity to do something interesting. They even play with the same textures of setting you later see in the matrix just on a much smaller scale yet, no less affecting. From grimy peeling apartments to immaculate well dressed apartment.
The film could easily be B-Movie pulp in lesser hands but they directing the over loving day lights out of it.
The plot is a Woman, an ex con who meets her neighbors, Jennifer tilly and Joey Pantelioni who turns out to be a monster.
First the move totally flips gender norms, making the main character a butch lesbian woman who becomes involved with Jennifer tilly. Again, ironally I canβt believe how much she actually reminds me of Keanu in the matrix with her dialogue delivery.
It is essentially a lesbian lead Romance which given how itβs portrayed puts it way way ahead of its time. Also Jennifer tilly telegraphs that she is thr femme fatale and yet, instead of the expected she completely turns into the opposite of what we would expect, in one of the best genre flips Iβve ever seen for a neo-noir thriller.
On the thriller aspect, this film is genuinely one of the most taught, hitc
... keep reading on reddit β‘I first saw SG-1 in 2004, and didn't see the feature film until 2010 because my parents thought the nudity rating was attached to the film itself, rather than the pilot.
While I love Sci-Fi in general - and would probably have seen the original film by now regardless - I know for a fact my only motivation for both owning and watching the 1994 film when I did was because of the show's long history, and the film's events being significant to the show's origins.
It's widely known that Emmerich is not the biggest fan of the subsequent television series, and he has on at least one occasion attempted to continue/restart the timeline from his own branching-off point with another film to follow-up that starring Kurt Russell and James Spader.
QUESTIONS: Do you think the feature film would be as well-known and successful as it is today if SG-1/Atlantis/Universe had never existed?
Do you think the TV series has stifled what could have been a successful and culturally significant series of films?
Do you think the TV series brought the OG Film to new heights? Higher than it could have achieved if left in the hands of the original creators and their ambitions of a film franchise?
I was playing Fortnite today, while watch some dankly hilarious Among Us streams on twitch, they're such sussy bakas
"oh yeah, that hilarious Disney movie with Lions starring Seth Beyonce, a masterpiece in its own right, but not as good as Infinite Wars"
He then said something about the 90s, and I was like, what? 90s? Then I looked up Lion King and there was a film in 1994 called The Lion King, and it was animated in 2D! It really shows how much we as a human species has advanced, there was once a period where we were limited to some cartoony lookin lions, but because of technology, we can create real masterpieces of art, like the photorealistic Lions we have today
Still, the 1994 Lion king serves as a reminder of a previous state of the collective artistic tastes of humanity, where they were limited, as they were limited to silly cartoons πππ
