They can’t control emotions so they attempt to drag others down to their emotional level. If someone doesn’t react and leave then they move on. They don’t know how to love so out of sight out of mind.
If someone does react then they win because they get their emotional breakdown fix, start building a catalogue of reaction ammunition against you, whilst knowing they can get more reactions if they push hard enough, for long enough, whilst preparing for longer more drawn out challenges of “do you dare me to show you how crazy I am?”

So they abuse, to provoke... only they know that once you react they’ve won. They walk away when they know theirs a risk we may take our lives. When they know they’ve gone too far and it could backfire on them.
They don’t love us. So... we walk out, and they can walk away unscathed. Maybe they have trauma bonding but it’s not love. Those who can love do not truly hurt those they truly love. True love is about making the ones that you love be happy and feel loved.
