The Unknown Known Puns

I saw this on another post and wanted to make my own about the topic.

Let’s take something like a cosmological argument that argues the universe was made by a god. Let’s grant most of the premises. Now what? A catholic might tell you that only the god of Catholicism has the needed attributes to be that god. A Muslim will tell you it can only be Allah. A Hindu will say it must be their one god that we are all an aspect of and part of. So on and so forth.

I say they’re all wrong. They’re making the mistake of assuming you can only pick from known gods. What if there’s some god that exists but that not a single person worships? Maybe this god doesn’t care about being known or worshiped, for instance. Why does it have to be one from an existing religion?

Some rebuttals I’ve heard that I’ll quickly discuss.

1. A god that is known is greater than one that is not known.

That’s just, like, your opinion, man. But really, it really is subjective and an opinion.

2. Whether or not you realize, you’re just still talking about my god.

No, we are not. For instance, maybe the theist is a catholic. For all we know, maybe the god that fits the criteria of a cosmological or teleological argument also prefers gay sex. Maybe they don’t care about the Jews any more or less than anyone else. Maybe they didn’t need to sacrifice an aspect of themselves in human form to save us, so on and so forth.

Like in Hungarian the phrase "patyolat tiszta" means really clean and most people know and use it, but the individual meaning of "patyolat" is unknown to a lot of native speakers.

I'm bored at work and need some reading material.

I'll start - for the Habs I believe Jerabek will have a good season coming from the KHL and will open a lot of eyes in the Habs fanbase and the greater NHL fanbase.

This is not a request for doxxing or trying to find concrete answers, but more of a general discussion.

The devil's in the details and I guess keyforge way embraces the philosophy of fuck the details and who cares about balance just go have fun.

I'm only half complaining.

This is my first post here so I don't know if I'm following the rules correctly.

My mom is one of 14 children. 23&me has matched me with 2 (different) uncles' great-granddaughters.

Highest match: Cousin A First Cousin Twice removed with 3.42% and 16 segments matched.

3rd Highest Match: Cousin B First Cousin Twice removed with 2.32% and 12 segments matched.

Cousin A and I share a chunk of X Chromosome, which I assume is from my grandmother/her great-great-grandmother.

There is an unknown person in between them ( also female) who is 3.22% and 12 segments matched.

My question is what causes the variance is the two known Cousins percentages and who would be the unknown person? ( She is not a known first cousin or 2nd cousin. I know all of my 36 first cousins on that side)

Here is the image, which represents a flat cake divided into 4 pieces of which 3 of them have known weights. How would it be possible to find out the weight of the unknown 4th piece? No other information is provided.

It's meant for a 7th grade in primary schools, but I really can't figure it out :). I would post attempts, but they would probably be irrelevant since it should be rather simple to solve (answer 200 was wrong).

I believe that it has something to do with the ratios. I have received a hint that the number of the missing triangle is between 120 and 300.

Is there someone who can explain to me how one can calculate the concentration of an acid (in a titration) if we already know what the concentration of the base is?

This is an extremely abstract suggestion request, and I realize I'm posting at the risk of not making sense, but I'm looking for movies that contain scenes where the protagonist does something spectacular or satisfying under circumstances where no one knows he or she is capable of it except the viewer (either from knowledge acquired from a previous scene or having a general knowledge of the movie premise).

I've been calling the trope "Clocking Ned" as an homage to the movie I think does it best, Grounghog Day (referencing the scene where Phil knocks out Ned Ryerson after he realizes he's reliving the same day). Here are a few more examples:

Bourne Identity: When Jason beats the crap out of the two guards, and realizes he possesses special ninja skills.

Goodwill Hunting: the "how bout dem apples scene" (guess I like Matt Damon movies).

Back to the Future: When Marty rips out a face melting version of "Johnny B Goode" at the undersea dance.

Braveheart: When William Wallace starts speaking French and Latin to the princess and the guards who thought he was just a dumb barbarian.

Sixth Sense: When he tells his mom about his gradma watching her performance as a child.

Blast From the Past: that entire scene in the bar where he speaks different languages, beats the crap it of that dude, and dances with two girls.

Rain Man: the toothpick/phone book scene in the diner.

I have several more examples, but I think that should paint a picture of the movies I'm looking for.
