A list of puns related to "The Three Graces (sculpture)"
One of the side-effects of playing 90% on mobile is not getting to βplay withβ two corners of the board.
Imagine my surprise today, while playing on my iPad, that I discovered a board interaction Iβd never seen before.
For those who also didnβt know - hold down on the sculpture and it will reform into a block of ice.
As the Director of The Regional Laboratory for the Science of Cultural Heritage Conservation at Portland State University, Iβm excited about the many diverse projects that are studied by the lab β from Ethiopian manuscripts to modern sculpture. One of our interesting projects is in collaboration with the Seattle Art Museum. And today, weβd like to talk about how we are developing methods to understand the protective quality of coatings used on outdoor sculpture, which are used to protect the artwork from the effects of the environment. You might want to check out our webpage on the project: http://www.pdx.edu/clarelab/artwork-diagnostics Studying artwork is a really fun application of chemistry. It is good to know that protective coatings are also used on many high value metalworks, such as bridges and airplanes. In fact, some estimates have suggested that the problem of corrosion of metalwork consumes 3% of the worldβs GNP annually (http://corrosion.org/)! So, the work that we do to understanding coatings on sculptures has the potential to help this big economic problem.
Joining me is Liz Brown, /u/Liz_Brown , βObjects Conservator at Seattle Art Museum.
We will be back at 2 pm EDT to answer questions, Ask Us Anything!
Thanks for the many great questions so far! I will try to get to as many as I can. Liz will join us soon. For those in near OSP -- stop by to see us this week!
We are off to continue our work in the Park. Thanks to everyone for their great questions. I will check back later to answer a few more.
Here are the uniques for this post. All of them have something to do with Evasion! But not just flat evasion as that is on hundreds of items, but I (hopefully) picked some items that have an interesting interaction with evasion overall.
Quick note: In lots of cases, the strength of rares (sometimes even mediocre ones) has outpaced old unique items. I'm not saying that isn't worth noting, especially since there are many who may not know there are easily attainable rares they might consider instead. However, I think one reason people like these posts is to see what kind of neat things they can do with an item they found. Maybe they just like the item and want to use it regardless of strength, or found it playing self-found. Also saying "Item is garbage" isn't particularly helpful to the conversation without elaboration. Just some things to think about. Thanks!
