We showed up early to get a good look at things. Antifa groups showed up a few at a time until there were arounf 150 people just hanging out on the steps of the Capital building. A few state troopers showed up for about 10 minutes before leaving.
Finally the guests of honor showed up.
All five of them.
They were told to fuck off by a chorus of protesters with drums, vuvuzellas and the like.
The circus escorted them back to their car.
At this point the dogs were getting a little over stimulated, so we made our exit.
A few other fashy fuckwits were possibly chased off as well, and I did see some state police doing something as we left... But I couldn't say what.
Good times were had by most.
Wow, it only took 1 day for that quote to age horribly.
To be fair, Miami and Wade were not playing well until yesterday, and maybe long-term the statement won't seem so crazy, but I fucking love when pundits loudly dismiss the legend only for them to have a legendary performance the day after.

I don't usually post in this sub, but I just wanted to share one of the many small moments that I've had while reading this series. I devoured books 1 and 2 around the time when WoR came out and I'm so excited to finally have the opportunity to read through Oathbringer. I've actually been having a really tough time at work these past 2 weeks, and I just lost it when reading the part with Veil downing drinks in the breakaway at Urithiru. The moment Shallan takes in some stormlight and becomes completely "not-drunk", and scampers away after a nice pat on the cheek of Jor, just had me dying of laughter for some reason. It felt amazing to escape for a little and just enjoy the scene.
The epic parts of this series are beyond amazing, but I can't discount how just the little things I experience through Brandon's writing are also sometimes just as impactful. Can't wait to complete my journey through Oathbringer, and can't thank Brandon Sanderson enough for creating and sharing the world of Roshar with us.
