The Tailor of Panama (2001)- Pierce Brosnan. An MI6 agent (James Bond) gets transfered to Panama for improper behavior (in very bond like fashion). He stops caring about his job and just wants to sleep with women and get out with some money. youtu.be/if887QzvTiw

The climax of the movie Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy (2011) involves the protagonist George Smiley sitting in a dark room waiting for a traitor. The gun he is holding is a Walther PPK, the same gun James Bond uses in movies. Also a very similar scene occurs in Dr. No, the first James Bond film.

This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 59%. (I'm a bot)

> Netflix has moved to shut down a lawsuit from Mossack Fonseca lawyers over a film about the Panama Papers scandal that led to the closure of their firm and criminal charges, arguing the partners' reputations were "Long sullied" before the film's release.

> Mossack and Fonseca sued Netflix this week alleging that the film portrayed them as "Ruthless uncaring lawyers who are involved in money laundering, tax evasion, bribery and/or other criminal conduct" and sought a court ruling preventing the film being released.

> Netflix said the film portrayed the pair as being "Largely oblivious to the ways in which some of the shell entities they have set up are being abused, and it indicts the system for making such enterprises largely, if not entirely, legal".

> Netflix argued Mossack and Fonseca had admitted in their own filing that the reputational damage they claimed they might suffer had long since occurred as a result of the media coverage around the 2016 publication of the Panama Papers.

> Judgment in the case was expected to be handed down before the film was due to be made available on Netflix.

> Mossack Fonseca shut down in March last year, two years after the release of the Panama Papers thrust the affairs of their clients onto front pages around the world.

In the film The Greatest Showman, a wealthy client is allowed to slap a tailor's son, seemingly, with impudence. Is this realistic for the time period or a Hollywood invention?

To give a bit more context, for those who haven't seen the film, the tailor's son in this case was paying too close of attention to the wealthy client's daughter. The slap was seemingly meant as both a punishment for his wandering eye and a warning to not seek out of his station. Just curious if this kind of physical reprimand would have been tolerated or accepted in this time..

Is there a way to search individual films on TFV? "Tinker Tailor" is on Netflix now and I want to find the TFV take on it.

TIA if anyone knows how best to search, other than just googling "The Film Vault" + "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy."

Much obliged, peace among worlds.
