A list of puns related to "The Rooftop (film)"
During Dig A Pony, George literally gets on his knees and plays in front of John! John responds by tipping up his guitar in a silly gesture and it's very cute.
I'm not sure if George is ribbing on the fact that John made their roadie Kevin get on his knees to hold the lyrics or what but it's a great moment either way.
For some reason, in Get Back, we don't see this footage and I dunno why but it's something everyone should see if they haven't!
OG film can be found here. Skip to ~1:12:50 for Dig A Pony
(Also interesting here is how the audio changes for the "all I want is..." Intro, because the OG film seems to have used the album tracks and that wasn't in the album track)
I remember this to be some sort of mystery or thriller or a whodunnit and I have a vague memory of the guy running possibly being framed for a crime he didn't commit. He had a wife or girlfriend who was important to the narrative. I remember as he was being chased on the rooftops there was a lot of commotion in the town square and there were hundreds of people watching and somebody puts up a ladder to try and climb up and cut him off. If I remember correctly, he dies when he falls. I don't remember the plot of the movie, just this specific scene.
A man and a woman are alone talking/flirting on top of a balcony. The girl is sitting on the railing ( not sure if thats the right word. What im talking about is the safety wall on a balcony) while the man is holding her legs. Suddenly the man pushes her legs upwards making her tip over and fall to her death.
The environment theyre in is like a rooftop-balcony type of place. Its daytime. You see a shot of her dead body afterwards.
I think the genre of the movie is what you would call a psychological thriller.
Id guess the movie is made between 2005-2012, although I could be wrong.
During the 2020 promotional campaign for the highly anticipated Beatles βGet Backβ film, director Peter Jackson, of Lord of The Rings fame, repeatedly claimed that, in the film, footage of The Beatlesβ famous concert in 1969 on the rooftop of Apple Studios would finally be shown in its entirety.
Although the 42 min duration of the concert performance is presented in βGet Backβ, there are still numerous cuts to reaction on the streets of London. Some of these edits greatly muffle the sound of The Beatles songs and mask the visual elements of the performance. Far from feeling like we were witness to the entire concert, this rather felt like a lengthy replica of the original βLet It Beβ documentary, from which the footage originally came.
We ask that Peter Jackson and the powers that be finally release the tapes of the rooftop concert with uninterrupted footage of the band performing their 42 min set. One camera angle is acceptable assuming all four Beatles are in frame. We realize that footage of Billy Preston may be too much to ask for but none the less would be greatly appreciated.Β
We understand that, from a documentary filmmaking perspective, it would seem appealing to show the cultural impact of the concert by way of reaction at street level, This approach, however, has already been taken in the past and we ask that you finally give a world of Beatles fans what they want and release the concert footage. Perhaps a DVD release with bonus features would be an appropriate way to do so, but we will leave the format to your discretion.
We would also very much love to see the footage of The Beatles recording the take of βGet Backβ that eventually became the single. This too was teased in the βGet Backβ film.
It was a really fun film, and I'm pretty sure it was on Netflix USA where I first saw it. I wish I could recall more about it, but I watched several historically based Indian films at that time and they all seem to have run together in my mind.
All I Can Say is Oh, APPLE CORPS. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU ?!?! That 'Rooftop Concert' Should Have Been INCLUDED in The Whole Shebang of a Deal !!!! Oh , Shame On You Apple Corps. Shame ......!
Mal, Ebbie and the rest. Without them the concert would have been much shorter. Bless them.
It's obviously embedded in the mythos of the band, 'iconic' etc, but I've heard a few performances from a city block away and it doesn't sound good at all. The stone and concrete of the streets give the sound a terrible quality. We got the vox pop of the people who were on the street right next to it, and the office workers from the neighboring buildings seemed happy to have gotten front row tickets to a free Beatles concert, but how far was it heard and could you make the songs out at all? What was the prevailing reaction at the time? The recordings we have are from dedicated equipment, are there recordings of what it sounded like on street level, or a block away? The policeman said you could hear it down at the police station, was it far?

Next month CPUC is going to vote to reduce the amount that utilities pay for rooftop solar generation from market rate, to 6 cents. This is a 75% or more reduction in many cases, and and add a monthly fee, making rooftop more expensive than just relying on coal power. They are doing this because groups run by the big privatized energy players like PG&E want to increase profits. This is corruption, plain and simple. It is a HUGE step backwards for climate, and will fuck over tens of thousands of people who are trying to do what they can to combat climate change.
If you are in California, please let them know that you know what they are doing. Also let your legislators know that you know what CPUC is doing. This is the shit youβd expect from Texas, not California.
