Just a random thought that occurred to me, but now that vaccines are widely available, are they gonna reunite the podiums? I remember Alex said that he actually liked the separated podiums because of how well it was designed, and I'm inclined to agree.

With his 3rd place finish in the 2021 Styrian Grand Prix, Valtteri Bottas is now tied with Piquet for 10th most career podium finishes (60). He is also just 8 podiums away from tying Barrichello for most career podiums without a WDC.

2021 has the Most Unique Teams having Achieved at Least one Podium through Six Races in the Turbo Hybrid Era
After the race this weekend in Baku, I decided to look into the number of different teams who had scored a podium through six races from 2014-2021. So far this year, Mercedes, Red Bull, McLaren, Ferrari, AlphaTauri, and Aston Martin have all achieved at least one podium.
In previous years:
2014: 5 teams
- Mercedes, Red Bull, McLaren, Ferrari, Force India
2015: 2 teams
- Mercedes, Ferrari
2016: 4 teams
- Mercedes, Ferrari, Red Bull, Force India
2017: 3 teams
- Ferrari, Mercedes, Red Bull
2018: 4 teams
- Ferrari, Mercedes, Red Bull, Force India
2019: 3 teams
- Mercedes, Red Bull, Ferrari
2020: 4 teams
- Mercedes, Ferrari, McLaren, Red Bull
2021: 6 teams
- Mercedes, Red Bull, McLaren, Ferrari, Aston Martin, AlphaTauri
While there are other factors at play (retirements, penalties, red flags, lockups :), etc.), it shows that the level of competition we are seeing this year is much closer between the frontrunners and the midfield than in previous years. 2020 had a record in the 2014-2021 era of 7 unique podium scoring teams over the course of the season, which is still a possibility if Alpine is able to pull a top 3 at one of their stronger tracks.
TL;DR - Racing better, racing exciting, Formula 1 more fun.

Valtteri Bottas is just one podium away from moving into 12th in the all time list of podium finishers. He would overtake Nico Rosberg’s total of 57 podiums in 46 fewer Grand Prix’s if he can secure a podium at the Portuguese Grand Prix.
