A list of puns related to "The New Adventures of Lucky Luke"
I don't mind if Fallen Order's story continues with the same (surviving) characters, but after being reminded how awesome playing as a Jedi is, I really, *really* want a game where I play as Luke.
Partially because I want an expansion as to how Luke came to defeat Vader in RotJ after only a few years of training with sick, dying, barely moving Yoda and literal-ghost-who-cannot-touch-anything Obi-Wan, when Clone Wars and the prequels showed years' worth of training to get even remotely close to hurting a being as powerful as Darth Vader.
But mostly because I want to play as the extremely badass, borderline invincible, experienced Jedi Knight (with a legitimate Darth Vader boss fight this time), and not the (albeit pretty badass) Padawan newbie we've been playing as who'll probably die in the next game if they want to keep Yoda's quote of "you are the last of the Jedi" true.
Considering how many canonically-surviving Jedi there are (whether they call themselves Jedi or not--*looking at you Ahsoka*), I wouldn't be surprised to see an older Cal bump into Luke and show him some stuff.
Basically, what the original Xbox game Obi-Wan did, but you know--good.
Iβm thinking of a number between 1 and 1000. Make your guess is the comments. One guess per person. The closest answer wins the codes. Contest closes Monday, November 22nd, 9:00PM CST. US only. Good luck and have fun!
Edit: Thank you to all who entered! This contest is now CLOSED. I would like to congratulate u/ironmanftww for guessing the closest number! They guessed 616, the answer was 595, a difference of only 21. Message me to receive your codes, if you donβt message me in a couple days Iβll try and reach out. Thanks again for playing!
Good morning, /r/Fantasy! My nameβs Luke Matthews. I'm the author of Construct, last month's featured read in r/Fantasy's Resident Authors Bookclub. I didn't get my fill of answering questions in those threads, so I'm back for a Writer of the Day. So ask me anything!
ABOUT MY BOOK
Construct is a chase story in the vein of The Bourne Identity or The Fugitive, set in a magic-punk world where magical adeptitude is common via the manipulation of life energy called khet, and artificial constructs are an everyday sight. Construct has been critically acclaimed by nearly everyone who's reviewed it, both professionals and readers.
Hereβs the blurb:
A failed attempt to destroy Samuel robs him of his memories, but leaves him assaulted by visions of a brutal murder. Adrift in a world that sees constructs like him as property, he must find a way to restore his fractured mind before the ruthless hunters pursuing him snuff out his only chance to discern if heβs a witnessβ¦ or a killer.
You can preview the first six chapters at ChroniclerSaga.com. You can get a copy directly from my website, or from Amazon, B&N, Kobo, or iBooks.
ABOUT THE SEQUEL
Construct is the first in The Chronicler Saga series. I recently finished the first draft of the sequel, titled Companion, and I'm working on revisions right now.
Companion picks up right where Construct left off, with familiar faces dealing with the aftermath of the far-ranging hunt for Samuel, and joining forces with new friends to seek out answers to the deepening mystery behind the murder of the Queen Sovereign.
Once I finish my own revision pass I'll work with my editors to polish Companion, with the intent to publish it late this year.
ABOUT ME
In addition to a life-long love of fantasy and sci-fi sparked by The Belgariad and Bio of a Space Tyrant, I'm an all-around massive geek. I've been playing video games since the Commodore Vic-20; my Nintendo Switch being my current obsession. I started playing D&D and other RPGs when I was 8 years old, but like many adults, life has prevented me from gathering a new group in a long time.
... keep reading on reddit β‘He's never going to appear in Battlefront so I think EA's final Star Wars game should be called 'The Adventures of Bespin Luke' and revolve around Luke, Skywalking over the competition on various planets in his Bespin outfit, all the while refusing to ever change his clothes.
New skins would include his Bespin outfit in various states of disrepair.
10,000 kills would get us a ripped Bespin Outfit but only when EA shafts us and pulls the plug to work on Battlefield 7.
That would be seriously my favorite thing of all time. It would be such a great way to give everyone the Luke they wanted to see in TLJ (Not that I didn't really enjoy that portrayal) while also expanding on Snoke, and maybe even Ben Solo's corruption.
I don't know what it says about me, but I have to admit that I have always been more interested in what happens to Luke and his close associates, and by extension his ancestors and any descendants, than in the universe he lives in.
Confession, I am indeed an "old guy" that saw the original trilogy in the theaters when I was a kid, and while I have an interest in how Finn, Rey and Poe get through the next few films, I really am going to the movies to see, as the post title here says, "The Adventures of Luke Skywalker".
If they find a way to make Luke a big part of Episode 9, I'm interested. I really would like the character to have a more heroic end to his story than we have seen so far. If not, it's really just another sci-fi action movie for me, and I may not see it on the big screen, not out of spite, but just from me being out of interest.
I get everyone who has written how well "The Last Jedi" ends Luke's story, and yes, my mind can rationalize that it's a fitting end. But my heart doesn't believe it.
