A list of puns related to "The Incredible Mr. Limpet"
I am about to watch for the first time if anyone else is up for it...

Notes:
"These sea creatures are so intelligent and possess such amazing faculties that they seem almost human. Even super human."
They are based in NY and the ship they are referencing is called "Liberty."
"Do you realize that our ancestors were fish...Millions of years later they became men"
"What if men were foolish enough to destroy themselves completely? Then the fish in the ocean would develop into a new race of men and maybe they would turn out better"
Song: "I wish, I were a fish" [Never got the reference until now... "Oh I wish, I wish I hadn't killed that fish."- HOMERSimpson] Oh and he says this WHILE TIME TRAVELING!
Henry Limpet is reading a book called Theory of Reverse Evolution by CA Radclif
Lights go purple as Don Knots transforms into a fish.
Song;"Be careful what you wish for...your dreams just may come true. Don't go chasing every rainbow...."
"it's simple. Just reverse the process."
βWhat if I told that I was once a human being?β
Thatβs all I got, anyone else?
It was made by Warner Bros and released in 1964, so not only is it not a film that Disney acquired at any point, but it takes place long after the story of The Little Mermaid takes place. It's a neat touch, but is there a reason he's in the Under the Sea room?
I'm looking for suggestions on some classic family films as I described in the title, I've already watched the Apple Dumpling Gang and a few other Don Knots movies and tonight I play to watch the Shaggy Dog and The Incredible Mr Limpet. I love the look and feel of these classic family films. Any good suggestions?
This may have already been discussed but I noticed this parallel from BBAβs dream and when she talks about how her brother loved this movie called the incredible mr. Limpet. You can see the same piece of paper in both scenes but itβs interesting that thereβs only one person in the picture image 1 image 2
Read a bit about the movie on wiki and I believe he is going play an important role somehow. Funny how in the voicemail he says something like βthrowing out a lineβ like everything with him is fish themed. Interesting description of the movie from the wiki page: βFeeling downcast, he wanders down to a pier near Coney Island and accidentally falls into the water. Inexplicably, he finds he has turned into a fish. Since he never resurfaces, his wife, Bessie, and George assume he has drowned.β
Some movies really stick with you. I saw this on some obscure TV channel when I was a little kid. I remembered nothing about it but shards of memories of scenes. Watching it as an adult, I could see where I, as a kid, would really enjoy the animation. The animated fish movements are really well done, but the voice acting is positively brilliant. I've always found Don Knotts to be a lovable goofball with a slightly irritating voice, but when that voice is separated and applied to a fish, it's positively engaging. See for yourself here.
What I totally missed as a kid is the creepiness factor of the film The lead character, Limpet, has a rather strange relationship with his wife and ... his ... friend? I'm sure the author of the original novel was working through something back then.
An amusing diversion from a time before Disney ruled the earth.
So i browse through TCMs lineup every few weeks and DVR titles that catch my eye, or have insane descriptions. 'Man falls off pier, turns into a fish and helps the navy hunt nazi U-boats' was a description i could NOT ignore. After watching it i felt it to be inaccurate. The themes of marriage infidelity, suicide, mental breakdown, and mid life crisis are deeply ingrained in its core.
Also, ladyfish comes off as a barely legal female who cant wait to get him back to her place to 'spawn'. She even gets jelly once she finds out hes married.

lol I don't know how or why I came up with this idea, but let me know what you think about it I guess.
What do you think of this film?
