Right, let's get this one over with. Chocolate making in a hot tent in the middle of summer always goes as well as pottery sculpting in a hurricane.
They should either move Bake Off indoors or just not have such a temperature sensitive week.

Well ladies and gentlemen, its the final.
After a year with a world that has been on fire, politicians being interesting, a pope slapping a woman, and the event we have finally come to the end of Bake Off 2020.
A bake off featuring phallic biscuits, exploding buttermilk, steamed ham(burger)s, one Somme recreation, and one batch of yeeted cakes.
We have our finalists:
Peter : The young chap with a flair for flavours and a friend of the gluten free folk!
David : The steadfast and reliable baker who doesn't flinch even when his cakes are smacked all over the floor.
Laura : The passionate yet messy baker with her flavours and bakes always going down well but has had a rocky and successful road to the final and yet is still standing.

Be nice people. Yes I know this series has been unpopular for a few reasons (and personally I would list this year as probably my least favourite because it just doesn't work for me at all). You're allowed to decry the judging as bullshit or that the wrong person went home etc but please don't take joy in people going home or be insulting about individual bakers. Remember this is a baking show designed to be entertaining.
All the vitriol when it bleeds into every conversation does make moderating not fun. (The salt threads when they pop up are fine, so those who want to have those conversations are free to have them)
Thought I'd create a dedicated thread for both the Americans who have just seen the final and for people in general to chat about what they liked, disliked, etc.
PLEASE don't turn this thread into another "Laura is worse than Hitler" thread.
We will be banning those who are especially vindictive. Note you are allowed to say she's lucky or messy but don't call her as someone described her as "a fat cow who's [sic] main form of exercise is crying." Just no.
