Previously we've always seen Castellan Crowe not tapping into the powers of the Black Blade of Antwyr, as it's all consuming of the user and it just wants to escape it's prison. He's just used it as a raw hunk of metal, much to his disadvantage in battle. On his new model we've just had revealed on the Warhammer Community site however, his sword is clearly on fire and having its power tapped into. The article revealing him also mentions "It is a curse only Crowe can endure, but the risks are worth it β the sword is deadlier than ever." Does anyone else feel that we're going to be seeing some new lore on Crowe using the blade to it's fullest? Perhaps simply tapping into only a portion of it?
As a massive fan of that song, it feels disheartening to see that it isnβt really involved in the set-lists anymore. I understand that it definitely doesnβt really fit the tone of this tour, and that to play it might feel like going back a pace, but I really hope they donβt dislike the song any less because of that reason.
I donβt want it to become the βCreepβ of their discography, seeing as Radiohead avoided playing that song for over 20 years after it was released. The difference is Creep was quite bad and bmbmbm is incredible, especially live. Hopefully it features after a few more album drops and tours, along with a few more of the Schlagenheim tracks that have seemingly lost their place in live shows.
Okay, so their first album Shake Your Money Maker is in my opinion one of the best rock albums ever, and its influence in 90's rock music can't be overstated. It was also a commercial success in every single way with multiple hit singles. Before their follow up, The Southern Harmony and Music Companion they fired their lead guitarist, and their seemed to be some drama there. Not knocking the Black Crowes at all, and I still think they are a good band. The thing is though they have never captured lighting in a bottle the way they did with Shake Your Maker again. They never officially broke up, but my friend went to a concert of theirs a couple weeks ago, and told me they played Shake Your Money maker in its entirety, and barely anything else.
And they blew me away (second time seeing them) but their new songs sound so damn good and I couldβve gone for a two hour show watching them. They played No Warning (my favorite on the album) and it absolutely kicked ass, as does California dreamin! Canβt say enough how good they were and I managed to snag one of Justinβs picks!
