They never give reasoning to where or which stories were stolen, but they always make this claim.

Were all the great prophets of the Abrahamic religion not raised by their biological father?

The theme seems to be no, absentee or died during the childhood of the prophet. From my limited research it seems that the prophets themselves weren’t raised or even influenced by their biological father. Ignore Jesus being the son of god.

Btw is there a lesson here? Moreover, how is the message of fatherhood and the significance of father is conveyed to prophets who didn’t have a biological fathers rather had father figures.

Most of the patriarchs and prophets never actually existed, so abrahamic religion is automatically man-made mythology.

A few that existed:

  • Baha'u'llah - a follower of a Persian merchant called the BΓ‘b who had been going around preaching that god would soon send his messiah. The Baha'u'llah started a splinter cult in which he was the promised messiah, the reincarnation of Jesus and Muhammad.
  • the BΓ‘b - the aforementioned guy going around preaching that he was the reincarnation of Elijah clearing the way for the messiah.
  • Joseph Smith - a guy with a criminal record in fraud who claims to have found golden plates that came from the original native Americans, Egyptian speaking Hebrews.
  • Muhammad - much of what is said about him is myth but he is the central figure of the rise of Islam, who was illiterate and did not write the Quran himself, with his followers claiming to speak for him.
  • Paul - a persecutor of Jewish Christians who starts his own brand of Christianity suitable for gentiles and writes many letters establishing his theology.
  • king Hezekiah, his immediate predecessors and kings that existed after him, such as the Maccabeans
  • king Pekah of Israel and his immediate predecessors

Almost everyone else is a mythical figure or unrelated directly to the people who claimed to be the chosen ones, based on a covenant between Abraham and God. All but the kings claimed to have a direct connection to god either directly or through angels like Gabriel, Moronai, and Jesus. Paul refers to Jesus as an angel in Galatians 4:14, so all of these people claimed to get truth via angels.

Everything written about Jesus pertains to a dozen other people, demigods, and an esoteric understanding of old testament prophecy from his birth to his death to the city he was raised to the city he was born to the miracles he performed. The Quran already questions the crucifixion, but now he does something even more miraculous by ascending into heaven without dying like Elijah or Enoch. If there was "some guy" behind the myths you can't establish what that would be with any certainty as the text allows for multiple rationalizations of him from an apocalyptic rabbi to an exorcist to a lunatic preacher. None of these ideas lay credence to him being the divine son of God or the chosen messiah. This really only presents a problem for Christianity and Islam, though, so we need to delve into the old testament, because even Baha'i uses their existence as well as the existence of Krishna and Zoroaster to justify the messengers of God which it is based upon. Abrahamic religions are one of the major causes of homophobia and sexism in the world.

firstly, the christian religion teaches that women should be subject to men because they were supposedly made from man and for men. New International Version 1 Corinthians 3:8-9
For man did not come from woman, but woman from man. neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. Lets not forget forget that in a Genesis, God cursed women to be subject to men which means the biblical god is okay with sexism and misogyny.

Though this might have just been a poor attempt to explain why society is patriarchal, it should not be ignored that this alone is a major fuel for misogyny and has made many to think that women should indeed be subjected to men, thereby making the rate of sexism and misogyny way worse than it was or probably would have been.

whenever arguing with a homophobic person, the usual response is ''Adam and Eve not Adam and Eve'', '' God made woman and man for a reason''. The good old classic Leviticus which commands the killing of gay people shouldn't be left out.

Leviticus 20:13 New International VersionΒ β€œβ€˜If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

Note that anytime you quote the harsh laws in the bible, Christian response is that the old testament is an old covenant. but apparently, it doesn't apply to leviticus.

Islam isn't excluded as it has a lot of sexist laws and still has a lot of sexist practices that even the women have been so brainwashed that they cannot see Sura 4:34: " If you fear highhandedness from your wives, remind them [of the teaching of Allah], then ignore them when you go to bed, then hit them. If they obey you, you have no right to act against them. ALLAH is most high and great.

There are a lot of fallacies, but the one fallacy that encompasses many when it comes to the abrahamic religions is the no true scotsman fallacy

I'm going to use Islam and Muslims as I am more familiar with it, but the same pretty much holds true with Christians and Christianity.

When Muslims claim this or that isn't islam, the question is what is Islam? What is your definition of Islam? If Islam is about getting to heaven or god, thy will be done by us, then certainly we would need a way to verify if we are indeed following gods will. So far, no such methodology exists.

I know that people would like to believe such methodology exist. They will claim that one must simply read the Quran. Yet it is not so simple. When Isis claims something, they say its in the Quran. Though I am glad there so exist Muslims who are not like Isis and claim that THEIR view is said in the Quran, this means there is something unclear in the Quran.

All the excuses that non Isis or even moderate Muslims claim can be claimed by Isis. To say that 'its obvious that Isis twists then words and all we have to do is read it for ourselves' is a ridiculous notion. I have read the Quran myself. And suppose I agree with Isis that is what the book seems to mean, how then do you disprove my claim? The problem is, a book is not necessarily the most reliable means to understand the will of the author.

Yes, there exist plenty of books in history where there are two interpretations, and none of the historians care to say it is absolute truth, yet this is what religious people do.

You claim it requires context and so on and so forth, yet, so do Isis. Simply put, words are not a reliable means to determine gods will if indeed there is a god. (But in my world there are none in so far I do not behave as there is one because there is no evidence to convince, therefore, my belief is suspended.)

I know this is getting long. But I want to make a second point. The people who claim this or that isn't Islam are also often hypocrItes. When you claim Isis isn't Islam but refuse to say exactly what makes Isis unislamic, many cannot say.

If you believe Isis is unuslamic, then tell me. Tell me you think its wrong to kill apostates for being apostate, regardless if they go public about it or not. Tell me that governments are wrong for banning blasphemy. Yet I see many apologists claiming that Isis is bad because they kill innocent Muslims. This is the same problem you do. you claim those dead are innocent, but Isis doesn't think so. Many atheists claim they are innocent, yet Muslims don't think so and readily support killing atheists.

Thirdly

Why did all Abrahamic religion started in the Desert/Poor areas? Was is it easy to fool innocent tribes for food, sex, money in the name of god?

Was reading an article in which it says that China doesn't believe in Abrahamic religions because they consider these as a political agenda and not as a religions.

I was thinking about it and I have few points.

  1. Greek, Egyptian, African, Indian and China civilizations were at peak at one point. A lot of contribution has been made to sciences, maths, medicine. Abrahamic religions didn't born in this place because they were already busy contributing to mankind. They needn't to create one too.
  2. There is least to no spiritual aspects in Abrahamic religions. They are written with a strong political intention.
  3. It's clearly a political ideology because it simply has instructions. Do this, do that. Don't criticize or ask questions. If you do, kill them or add fear of burning in hell.
  4. Before abhrahamic religions, atheists were encouraged by every civilization. In fact, Greece used to have a clan of people who were atheists and whose only job is to question and critic. Atheism is actually encouraged in many civilizations.

What are your thoughts?

A Common Misunderstanding I Have Noticed That Occurs Between Followers Of The Abrahamic Religion And Atheists In Regards To Atheist's Usage Of Moralistic Language When Talking About Yahweh/Allah

I've seen some Abrahamist wonder why some Atheists morally condemn Yahweh/Allah for his actions and positions in the various Abrahamic texts, while not believing that Yahweh/Allah exists.

To this, I would like to note that accepting the hypothetical existence for the purposes of discussion is not the same as accepting an entity's literal existence.

There is no contradiction between morally condemning a fictional character like Voldemort (for example), and not believing in Voldemort's existence.

There is also no contradiction between accepting a hypothetical entity's attributes that relate to various events.

For instance, there is no contradiction between stating that Neptune (>!sorry Hellenist!<) would be evil for causing a recent tsunami if he was real, while not believing that Neptune is real.

So, when an Atheist morally condemns Yahweh/Allah, they do so while maintaining the position of atheism.

I hope this helps clear the air when it comes to these types of discussions.

What finally convinced me of the falsehoods of Abrahamic religions

Was ironically enough, being educated in theological study for the majority of my life. The discovery of the true origins of Yahweh, a midianite blood crazed war demon imported via the North Copper trade to Israel and supplanting the worship of El proved the final nail in the coffin.

I remained doubtful and lapsed before this conclusion, noting the incongruencies and contradictions of what Yahweh's central message was (the catechism did not help all that much either) but the historical origins of the deity that Jews, Christians, and Muslims worship was simply the final affirmation needed. I see tons of people still remaining unaware of the truth of these things. I do not try to prosletyze, as it remains none of my business, but I cant help but feel bad that theyre essentially believing in a big lie.

Wouldn't our modern understanding of sexuality undermine Abrahamic religions?

I usually post here in defense of religion, but this one will be a bit for critical of it.

I'm gay, I didn't choose it. By the age 12/13 I began to notice something different about me. Unlike my peers, I didn't pay attention to girls, but to boys. Later in my life I realized what I have is same-sex attraction, and people like me are called 'gay'. I tried so hard to change it, I was born and raised Muslim in a conservative society, so I had every reason to not be gay, but nothing worked. Today I'm married to my husband, and happy with who I am, and came to conclude that my sexuality is not my choice, and it is certainly not something I need to be ashamed of or try and suppress.

Wouldn't an all knowing God know that people don't choose their sexuality? That love between two people of the same sex is real? How is it fair of God to somehow let me experience SSA when I was a kid, and not answer the many prayers I made for change, and still expect me to live a life of misery, loneliness and anguish? It seems that the stories of millions of LGBT people today and how they came to realize their sexuality raise the the question of whether whoever wrote the three Holy Book really knew what sexuality is, and what does that say about their divine origin?

Please don't go about comparing my sexuality to pedophilia, alcoholism, or the urge to commit mass murder. This is an old tactic that fails to solve any issue.

Is Arishem and the Eternals meant to be the in-universe 'truth' behind God and angels of abrahamic religions?

I haven't read the comics and I'm mainly asking about the MCU narrative, but to me it seemed to be pretty clear that Arishem seems to be the true entity behind what went down as "God" in the Old Testament and in other monotheistic religions - and the Eternals are what was recorded by humans as "Angels".

To me the movie seems to hint that mankind took bits and pieces of the (in-universe) truth about their creation (as they had very close and intimate contact with the "angels") and interpreted that (over generations) into the story about the "God of Abraham" (his judgement into the awaited rapture), and that bits and pieces about the 'prophecy' of Tiamut's emergence, which could have leaked into cultural folklore at least since Babylon (as that's when Ajak told Ikaris about it), was interpreted over time into the awaited "Messiah" (and erroneously attributed to the human Jesus of Nazareth by new-testament christians).

So to me it seems like the story isn't simply inspired by biblical events, but is actually "retconning" the Bible and narratives of other abrahamic religions.

Is that the underlying idea of this movie? At least thinking so made the movie much more fascinating to me.
