Preamble:

Whereas, numerous innocent civilians, especially children, have lost limbs or even their very lives to landmines left over after war.

Whereas, landmines are neither proportional nor discriminate on the field of battle.

Whereas, numerous nations have already signed onto and ratified the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention, also known as the Ottawa Treaty.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress Assembled,

Section I: The United States Congress hereby exhorts the President of the United States to sign onto the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention, also known as the Ottawa Treaty, and send it to the United States Senate for ratification.

Section II: The United States Congress hereby exhorts the Russian Federation, the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of India, and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, specifically, as well as all other nations to ratify the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention, also known as the Ottawa Treaty.

Section III: The United States Congress hereby exhorts the President of the United States to work with our NATO allies to clear landmines left behind in former war zones by the United States and its NATO allies.

Section IV: At least seven hundred fifty million dollars ($750,000,000) of the discretionary spending of the Department of Defense shall be used by that department to research and develop discretionary area denial weapons which demonstrate at least a negligible danger to civilians or effective non-lethal area denial weapons, and make the active denial system more cost effective for long-term use.

A lonely writer develops an unlikely relationship with his newly purchased operating system that's designed to meet his every need.

At some points, mainly the opening 20 mins or so, it was very weird. But it was easy viewing, if it lasted 4 hours I reckon I would have happily sat through it and not got bored. The end was actually quite emotional and didn't expect it to end like that, but I can't picture a better ending.

I think the ending of this was the most unexpected, ridiculous, creepy and mind-fucking I have ever seen. Rarely does a movie leave me sitting watching the credits simply because I couldn't figure out why it ended like that. And up until then, I really enjoyed it and it really does make you think.

If you ever watch this, and for whatever reason don't like it, skip to the last minute. Even if you haven't followed the story, you just have to see it.

Iron Man 2

With the world now aware of his identity as Iron Man, Tony Stark must contend with both his declining health and a vengeful mad man with ties to his father's legacy.

I had watched Iron Man when it first came out and saw it at least 3 or 4 times, and only in the last week did I finally watch the sequel. Before watching it, I had heard/read a lot of people saying it was a rubbish movie and nothing compared to the first one. I strongly disagree with them.

I thought this was a very solid movie and the first one is only marginally better.

Eventually I will get around to watching Iron Man 3.

A film that explores the dark and miserable town, Basin City, and tells the story of three different people, all caught up in violent corruption.

I expected to like this, it sounded like my kind of movie. But, I found myself rather bored sitting through this. I kept looking at how long was left so it would be over. None of the stories interested me. Very few things impressed me.

• Set free from the confines of Hell, The Redeemer spreads his wings and enjoys the open sky once more. Now that she has returned from her "rescue mission," Nyx releases Al’s "shadow" from her control and collapses to the ground. In the hospital bed of Al Simmons, a miracle has occurred. Al, once in a complete coma, has been revived. The federal agents who have observed him since his admittance are not nearly enough to stop him. Al and his "shadow" have a couple of scores to settle. • Things have not been what they seem. Spawn, Nyx and The Redeemer have all been playing right into Mammon's hands. Mammon reveals to Nyx that she has not only betrayed Spawn, but also been tricked into giving Mammon her connection with the Hellspawn. I took 142 in the Fall and have to take 143 in Spring but I wanted to know if this was okay to do. I’m not sure if i’ll forget everything but I was hoping it wouldn’t be too bad and wanted to hear others opinions.

i have limited coding knowledge and struggled a lot this quarter. i also started working, moved houses, transitioned from hs to college this quarter. all in all, i didn’t do that great in 142 and had a difficult professor pisan (imo). should i retake 142 next quarter at cascadia with much better chances at getting a 4.0? or should i work really hard to get a 3.9/4.0 in 143 next quarter. I’m supposed to take 143 with Tim Carlson. I haven’t heard anything about him so i’m wondering if a 3.9/4.0 is achievable with this prof? PLEASE SEND ADVICE. s/ns deadline is the 17th😭
