Welcome back to Explorer Mode 2.0! This series aims to expand on the Explorer Mode feature on the Geoguessr website by showcasing all of the available countries that are not yet included in the official game mode.
This series will work similarly to the official game mode, however rather than tallying individual scores, this will be a collaborative effort where the final score for each challenge will be the average of all scores posted in this thread.
I will post a new challenge each Monday and Thursday.
If you post a score for the challenge, please also include the country you would vote to play next. If your score is the highest I will go with your selection.

Previously, we visited the Falkland Islands and came away with a bronze medal. Fearless_frosk posted the highest score of 24,971.
Today we will be visiting South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands. A British Overseas Territory located in the southern Atlantic Ocean 1,300 kilometers east of the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands are a group of islands with no permanent population. Like the Falkland Islands, they are also claimed by Argentina, who maintained a naval base in the territory from 1976 to 1982. The islands were used as a base for whaling in the 20th century, and the ghost town of Grytviken stands as a reminder of this period.
