A list of puns related to "Slouch hat"
I saw this kit in a local knitting store at least 6 months ago and just loved it, so I bought it. I thought it would be a piece of cake even for me, since it was almost entirely stockinette stitch. After I got home, I realized it would be a weaving-in nightmare, so I put it away until I figured out how to find a video to teach me how to deal with so many color changes. (I knew how to bring colors up, when knitting in the round for a few rows in two or three colors, but this kit did not come with enough yarn to attempt such a pretty, twisted seam.)
Anyway, I was able to get several more hats under my beginner belt before searching again last week for any tips on knitting this kit and to my happy surprise, I found a fairly new YouTube video that described a technique that I used for my hat, and it was just perfect! I'm glad I waited to try it, because the technique in the video required "diving down into the stitch below" and I doubt my beginner eyes would have recognized the "stitch below" before now. After knitting this hat, I can proudly claim to be much more capable of "reading" my stitches! All my projects to date have had mistakes with dropped and/or added stitches and though I had a few mistakes in this hat as well, I was very calmly able to find and correct them on my own. I can't quite describe the pleasurable feeling of being able to rely on myself to find and fix them! To no longer "fear" knitting something new is liberating!
Anyway, back to the hat. The kit is called "21 Color Slouch Kit" designed by Virginia Sattler-Reimer, and put together by the yarn company Blue Sky Fibers. It was the first time I had knit with that brand, and I enjoyed it and would knit it again - no splitting or knots or uneven sections of yarn and no color transfer to my hands or the other colors.
Although I knit the kit, I'm sharing a link to just the pattern, because it's only $3.00 & would be great for anyone with a lot of colors of leftover yarn to use it up. Within the page the link will take you to is another link to the kit, which is sold with tiny hanks of 21 colors of yarn. (I hope I pasted the link in the correct place!)
I"m not sure I'm allowed to post a link to the YouTube video that so helpfully taught me how to weave in the beginnings and endings of every color change (except for the ribbing color, which had to be woven in.) However, if you search "21 Color Slouch" you will see it in You Tube. She also did a 2nd video regarding the crown decrease, an

A little context and to clear things up. Iβve seen photos of Army Personnel with the side of their slouch hat flipped up. While the RAAFβs fur felt is always flat and not flipped? Are there any times where the RAAF/RAN have their fur felt flipped?
Hello! I am looking to track down an out of print pattern: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/spider-slouch
I have emailed, tweeted and messaged the company on a variety of different socials trying to track it down, but haven't received a response. I don't know if they are still in business, but I am now turning to reddit to see if anyone has this pattern and can send it to me? Or have any other ways of getting it? It is really cute and is the perfect gift for my sister who lives for all things halloween
Thanks in advance for anyone that can point me in the right direction.
Hey guys, my slouch has bent up a bit on one side. It doesnβt look neat at all, can anyone help me to save me getting ripped a new asshole?
Thank you.

Lately I've noticed everyone buys up a slouch hat as soon as they can, and it's made me wonder just how farby it is to see so many of them? I mean, I've seen almost entire companies march out without a single kepi or forage cap. I'd reckon most units would have been pretty uniform with maybe a handful of slouch hats, but the amount that I've noticed are just becoming somewhat absurd. Surely it would have been unusual to see them so saturated? Of course, this is what I've noticed in Confederate camps, I tend not to notice Federal headgear as I'm more concerned about loading and firing at them at the time, and I don't often see them during downtime.
So, has anyone else noticed this? My reckoning is that people love to accessorize and make themselves look unique and interesting, which contrasts how little an actual soldier would want to stand out in a crowd.
An aussie Akburha slouch hat without the badges, worn out in public by a civilian.
I'm not actually sure what I'm trying to imply here but
just wanted to gather everyone's thought or somehow

I recently got this game and learned that their is a slouch hat .As an Aussie I REALLY need this, is their a way to get it in 2021?
So sorry if this isnβt appropriate for the sub but I couldnβt think of any other more fitting subs.
Iβve been looking for a replica or even just a civilian (for lack of a better word) ANZAC/Slouch hat but all the ones I come across are actual ones from WWII/Vietnam etc (which means $200+)
Anyone know where I can order one that isnβt an antique? Any and all help is appreciated βΊοΈ
I wanna make a hat for my friend, but she says Cotton definitely will make her curly hair brittle because it absorbs natural oils (also I donβt wanna snag or mess up her braids when she has them!)
Is there a curly hair friendly yarn, or has anyone ever added silk lining by hand? I donβt have a sewing machine but I have loads of hand sewing experience.
I always like wearing the slouch hats (island hopper and the Halloween one) but I never knew how accurate they are. As the aussies wore them but the American faction got the one. So I wanted to know what would pair well with the two of them
