i don't know about y'all, but i really, really fell in love with jean smart's and angourie rice's performances. helen fahey in particular i found exceptionally funny. they chose the right person to play her. i'm going to find out what else jean smart is in, and watch it asap.

The show has thrown us so many dates and times that it seems like they HAVE to be important. So, since Iโm bored at home, I decided to put together as comprehensive of a timeline as I could cobble together from dialogue and context clues. I hope this is helpful for sleuthing as we get into the latter half of the season!

Note: The show actually gives two dates for the pilot. Mare and Siobhan say itโs January 10 while talking about college application deadlines, but the โbig write-up in the Tribute this morningโ is dated Friday, November 18, 2020. The show gives us a firm date of birth for DJ, and based on that the correct date has to be Friday, January 10, 2020. For the purposes of this timeline, Iโm discarding the newspaper date as a props department error.
Friday, January 10 - Early Hours of Saturday, January 11, 2020 (Episode 1)
- Early Morning: Mare Sheehan wakes up to a call on her cell from Betty Carroll, whose granddaughter caught a man who โlooks like a ferretโ peeping from the alley. The unnamed granddaughter has already left for Allentown by the time Mare arrives at the Carroll house to investigate.
- Morning: Dawn Bailey appears on the news for a public appeal on the one-year anniversary of Katieโs disappearance. Chief Carter tells Mare to go back to the file and look for new leads.
- Daytime: Mare chases Freddie Hanlon after his sister Beth reports a break-in and injures her ankle during the pursuit. Mare convinces Freddie to stay at a shelter for the night.
- ~3:00 p.m.: Dylan Hinchey picks up DJ with Brianna Delrasso. Erin and Dylan argue about how to pay for DJโs ear surgery.
- ~5:00 p.m.: Mare has drinks after work with her mother, Helen Fahey, and her cousin, Father Dan Hastings. Father Dan confirms that Deacon Mark made sure Freddie got a bed at the shelter for the night. Mare finds out about Frankโs engagement and confronts him when he brings Drew home.
- ~5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.: Kenny and Erin McMenamin have dinner after Kenny gets home from work. Kenny tells police he is home all
I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.

I know Philly has a high % of people with Irish ancestry but the names really beat you over the head with that. All the discussion about whether or not the name Siobhan is too unusual made me wonder if these names are a significant detail beyond setting the scene.
Among the ones I caught are Frances/Frank, Brianna, Erin, Katie, Maureen (apparently Mareโs actual name), and possibly Dylan are fairly common Irish American first names. And the last names - Bailey, Sheehan, Fahey, Carroll, Riley are pretty common Irish American surnames along with apparently McMenamin and Hinchey.
This focus on the Irish names make you wonder extra about the Catholic Churchโs role in the story, as well as the mystery.
I'm surprised it hasn't decade.
For context I'm a Refuse Driver (Garbage man) & today I was on food waste. After I'd tipped I was checking the wagon for any defects when I spotted a lone pea balanced on the lifts.

Eliminating suspects and Current Theory.
It is January 2020 in the town of Easttown, Pennsylvania. Erin is a teenage single mom who lives with her father. Her son, DJ, just had his first birthday. Erin adores DJ and dreads the idea of not having him near. ERinโs father is a cold hearted man who has a quick temper. Erin is afraid to upset him and accepts blame easily in order to avoid a confrontation with him.
It is widely accepted that the childโs father is Erinโs ex-boyfriend, Dylan. He is an immature teenager who has moved on with this life and is now dating Biannca. who grudgingly accepts his role as a father. However, he will not provide additional financial assistance unless ordered by the courts. Their child, DJ, requires an operation on his ear to stop frequent infections which may impact his hearing. When asked for help, Dylan refuses to provide the needed money. Obtaining the money for this operation is priority to Erin, but she lies to her father about Dylanโs refusal to quell her Fatherโs outrage.
Erin reluctantly hands off DJ to Dylan for this court ordered weekend visit. Dylan leaves the child with his parents in order to attend a party in the woods with his girlfriend. Erin arrives at the same party on her bicycle. She is under the impression she is meeting a boy whom she is texting with. However, she has been โcatfishedโ by Dylanโs girlfriend who ambushes Erin and beats her in front of a small crowd. Erin leaves the party on her bike around 12:05 AM.
Her cell phone is functioning up until 2:37 AM its battery dies. Her body is discovered the next morning in a creek. Her clothes are removed except for her panties. She has been shot in the head and is missing a finger on her left hand. The autopsy determines she has not been raped. Furthermore, it is determined her fatal injuries took place at a different location than where the body was found. The missing finger is later located 13 miles from the location of the last cell phone โpingโ. Also, a bullet is found lodged in a tree.
