How was the Sino-Vietnamese War fought?
I'm wondering if anyone here can speak to how the Sino-Vietnamese war was fought, what strategies both sides used, what did the battles look like etc? I've seen people make a compelling case that it was a strategic success for China but I'm more curious about what the war was like at a tactical level.

I hope yall are keeping well or as well as you can. There's a particular conflict I know very little about that I see constantly brought up in this sub. I'd love to learn more about, but I do not trust western sources. So I figured my comrades are the absolute best to help me with this task. The narrative that I know of the war is this. Vietnam invaded Cambodia a year prior to put a stop to the Khmer Rouge. Who at the time were being supported by the US and the China. Now if I'm wrong please tell me so.
