A list of puns related to "Sheriff Personal Injury Court"
Could this hold up in court? Seems like fraud to me
Update: I just found out the notary died recently. Do I still have a chance of raising this issue?
I was involved in a crash for cash scam mid-last year, where 5 men were in a vehicle, slammed their breaks on in an empty road and I ended up in the back of their car.
My insurance company dismissed their claim as fraudulent due to them driving with business insurance rather than personal and additional claims of the same nature.
Do they have a leg to stand on claiming personal injury? I canβt get in touch with my insurance company until Tuesday - will the insurance company deal with this claim or do I need to seek independent legal advice?
Theyβre claiming whiplash and anxiety when driving - the guy owns a car dealership but thereβs no record of him driving across his socials, although if he does crash for cash scams a lot he would know to remove any relevant posts.
Thanks
I actually really love court shows. Judge Judy, Joe Brown, all of them have some entertainment value. A fair share of funny stupid cases and serious stuff, but there's one of these kinds of shows i just can't stand. Personal Injury Court. It's legit terrible. This is by far the worst court show i've ever seen.
I watched this show pretty much every day in quarantine while taking care of my grandparents who love this kinda stuff. I swear, everyone who comes on this show is obviously a crook, a scammer. Every case i saw was "Idiot doing something nobody should do, sue person on the property, and winning by some technicality" or The owner of the property missing something that no normal person would ever think to look out for and someone getting hurt by it. Like a kid who stopped walking in the middle of traffic to take a selfie, he got hit by a car and WON because the driver wasn't wearing glasses. Yet, there's also been cases that are completely logical for an injury and they lose by a small technicality. A woman who lived by a farm, the neighbor's bull escaped and she walked out on her porch to see what was going on when it was tearing up her fence, the bull attacked her and she lost because she walked outside.
A teenager trespassed onto a train station and won because they didn't do enough to protect him. He crawled through a hole in there fence and got struck by lightning on top of the train he shouldn't have been on. How is that their fault whatsoever?
Like, some cases seem pretty open and shut and that they'll go one way because it's clearly one person's fault, but they don't.
THere's a pattern, there's always an angry yelling person who is immediately unlikable and a more reasonable person, it's almost always the yeller who wins. You can usually tell who'll win by who's either the stupider one or the one who's obviously wrong. It's like a bad horror movie, the obvious killer is never the killer. For example, there was a father/daughter team vs a baseball stadium owner. The daughter's eye was hurt because the stadium's mascot threw a bag of peanuts too hard. The family was mostly quiet and just talked about how sad they were and that the girl may not recover her vision while the baseball guy was shouting over the judge and insulting the daughter, saying she should be a pirate or something. He won, that seems to be a blatant pattern, whoever is louder and more douchey wins.

I googled and checked CPR, I don't see why this is the case.
Here's the filing. You should read the whole thing, but here are some highlights:
"With this frantic, last-minute lawsuit, ThedaCare attempts to convert its own poor management into a disruptive personal emergency for everyoneβanyoneβbut itself"
"ThedaCare has only itself to blame for failing to maintain a competitive working environment for its medical staff, opting instead to underpay its essential workers and even refusing to make a matching offer to these employees when given ample opportunity to do so."
"The groupβs resignation...was...the near-inevitable result of ThedaCare telling its employees they were not valuable enough to retain."
"ThedaCare refused to accept their resignations, and changed their status to 'PRN Associate'βan on-call designationβwithout their consent."
"While ThedaCare touts its significant investment in developing its trauma care program, it failed to invest in its most important asset: its own employees. Even as it made more money as a result of its certifications, ThedaCare failed to adequately compensate its caregivers. Had it done so, perhaps it would not have lost them to another facility."
"ThedaCare has multiple alternatives; it just appears unwilling to pay for them."
This is disgusting! After all the child abuse we've been uncovering and bringing to people's attention Missouri lawmakers are trying to give victims less time to speak up instead of more. We need this voted down and this person voted out. They are obviously a part of the problem and an abuse enabler. This is just disgusting and a blatant cover up attempt!

This is really old, but I got reminded about it from reading another story here...
Years ago I got a speeding ticket in Worcester MA. It was a typical speed trap where they sit at the bottom of a steep hill, knowing that lots of people will exceed the ( very low ) speed limit because... gravity!
It was bullshit, so I decided to fight it and at least make them work for their $100 fine. I read everything I could on fighting radar tickets, and one strategy was to check whether the police department had proper FCC documents on the radar used. If they don't, the radar info is inadmissable, and you probably win your case.
I went to the Worcester police station, and found the records department down in the basement. I showed them the ticket and explained that I wanted to view the paperwork for the radar that was used to record my speed. I had to wait a couple minutes, but some official came out and sternly informed me that "civilians don't have access to that information."
Cue Malicious Compliance.
I asked a few people how you request records for a court case, and it turns out that, at least in Massachusetts, that's one of the things the Sheriff's office does. So I went to them, paid them $50 ( I know, on a $100 ticket, but I've always enjoyed tilting at windmills ) and described the documents I required.
I have to admit that by the time I had to go to court, I had kind of forgotten about the Sheriff's department, but I did notice this police officer sitting in the audience section with all the other people fighting tickets. This guy wasn't your typical police officer, though. He was wearing a very fancy uniform, and his hat had all kinds of gold braid on it. He did not look happy.
Traffic court being traffic court, it's all kinds of disorganized, with a bunch of citizens sitting around waiting for things to start, and of course the proceedings plod along at a snail's pace. Finally my name is called after about a half hour, and this police officer comes over to me and explains that he is the ( Captain or Lieutenant - I forget now ) in charge of the entire records division for the Worcester police, and he has the radar records in his hand for me to examine.
So, I look it over and it seems to all be in order so I thank him. He's visibly angry about having to spend his morning sitting in traffic court over a $100 citation. Totally worth the $50.
To this day, I don't know whether someone at the Sheriff's department was just messing with the police department

It makes this section of the law look like it's nothing but crooks. I hate this show, plus it really seems like none of the verdicts actually would happen.
If any of y'all have seen it, what do you think? Is it actually accurate and do you enjoy it at all?
