Curious to hear people's thoughts on this. Especially as this guy didn't mention the big elephant in the room that tuition raises have been spiraling out of control for some time now. Also curious about people's thoughts on "society doesn't owe us anything", an interesting comment in the thread stated: "It's not just about the money - we all had to sacrifice a critical window of our young lives that we could have otherwise invested in other business ventures and/or in having a normal family life - a critical window of time that we will never recuperate and all in the interest of helping other people in our society who did not make that sacrifice. Arguing that "society doesn't owe us anything" is not only self-degrading, it is outright offensive."

People need to learn some self control when talking about female wrestlers, I understand they may be beautiful and you can have a crush, that's not a problem but openly commenting inappropriate things about them with no shame is quite disturbing. They are athletes at the end of the day so they should be respected instead of being fantasised about. Please think "is this appropriate?" before you post your comments

i did 1200 for almost two years straight and got down to my GW. but since i’ve gained 10-15lbs back due to overeating.

i know habits take a while to develop, but i’ve seemed to lost my former ability to restrict overeating! can i get some tips?

i drink lots, eat high volume. it’s harder as a vegan though for sure. it doesn’t help that i take a med that makes me ravenous with hunger.

This is something I don't understand so much.

The calmest and most controlled person in the room is almost always the strongest and the most dangerous. The person who masters self-control over the storms of instinct and emotion is a dangerous beast compared to people who are easily led by primal instinct and emotion. People who are wise and choose wisely always have an advantage in their efficiency. And finally, patience is power as it lets the person sit in the storm while deliberating better options to choose from and better values to have.

I don't understand why people see impulsiveness, emotional vulnerability, rashness, and recklessness as a strength. The IDGAF mentality sounds great on paper and when applied to the moment, but a sky's eye view shows that not only does the mentality reveal probable anti-social tendencies but it also shows that this mentality doesn't give as much rewards as it may promise.

I think that we've glorified foolishness.

I’m on a tighter budget then normal because of a Sept car accident and out car still not repaired due to unable Kia parts. Been paying for rental for almost three months so it’s expensive to say the least. Now that’s it’s getting into the Christmas season I find myself up late on sites looking at stuff to buy myself and for my bf. I’m just struggling with not much extra money this Christmas. Any ideas o how to still enjoy Christmas and have a few gifts to open?

I think I have very little ability to have any meaningful connection and was wondering how to control my sex drive because it drives me a little insane for a while, masturbation isn't enough anymore.

Should I take a prostitute while just keep looking for someone who can I have sex with for free?

I'm not particularly good looking and don't have that much of a chance on dating sites.

When people say the government is trying to control us or serve themselves by imposing restrictions such as lockdowns, border restrictions, mask mandates, etc... I'm actually confused as to what incentive the government has for those measures other than health & safety. I'm genuinely curious and want to hear from the perspective of those who make such claims.

Last year I dropped from 118Kg down to 92Kg over a 6 month period by doing 18:6 roughly 5 days a week and a very low carb (almost keto) diet, it was the first time I'd ever been able to stick to any form of diet and actually lose weight.

I had surgery late last year and had to have a mostly liquid diet that had plenty of carbs in it, since then I haven't been able to stick to either IF or keto, I'm craving carbs and sweet things all the time which when combined with poor self control I've been putting weight back on.

I know if I could get through maybe 5 days of IF with very low carbs I would probably be able to keep it up.

If I could drink coffee all day it would help - but it affects my sleep too much unfortunately.

Any tips for a) How to get back into IF (especially with a low carb diet) and b) self control / craving management for carbs / sugar during the first week?
