Season overview
Hello everyone, and welcome to 2022! A new year means a new WorldTour season, and with that comes all the excitement, thrills and bike racing that we know and love.
The men's season officially kicks off on 20th February with the UAE Tour, while the women's season starts on 5th March with Strade Bianche. We close both the men and women's seasons with the final day of the Tour of Guangxi on 18th October, a stage race for the men and a one-day race for the women.
Like any other year, the transfer carousel has been in full swing. Just some of the big name transfers for 2022 include sprinter Sam Bennett moving back to Bora-Hansgrohe, JoΓ£o Almeida moving to UAE, and Marlen Reusser and Lotte Kopecky both moving over to SD-Worx. A full list of transfers can be found here.
Predictions!
For a normal race prediction thread, we select a series of riders who we think have a good chance of winning a particular race. Today however, we open the floor to you.
That's right - it's time to grab your crystal balls and get predicting. Who will win what this season? Which riders will perform well and who will have a season to forget? Bragging rights are on the line if you're correct when we revisit this thread at the season's end.
Got a hunch that Pogacar won't win the Tour again? Convinced that van Vleuten will have her best-ever season? Or maybe you think this is the year Geraint Thomas stays upright? We look forward to seeing your picks and hot takes below. Be brave.
That's all from us - what are your predictions for the 2022 season?

###Course
After a tense week, we're having a normal cross race today! With spectators even (though no VIP or party tent, but I don't think that will make the Flemish fans any more subdued now that Wout is back). Boom is still a relatively new race, only on the calendar since 2015, and having it's 7th edition this year.
The course is on the same terrain that hosts the Tomorrowland festival during the summer. The start and finish are in the place where their mainstage usually is. The course will be very similar to that of last year, and will use the little ridge running through the terrain and which the riders will have go concur no less than 7 times. So this will be an intense and difficult course for riders who can climb and have some of that explosive power.
The riders won't hit a flat section until they'
This week we have a ranking of the Top 10 female riders who didn't manage to win a WWT race in 2021 (based on UCI points).
Katarzyna Niewiadoma (Poland, CANYON//SRAM Racing) - 2223 points: Niewiadoma came close to a big win all season long, with multiple podiums and Top 5 results, including at Dwars door Vlaanderen, Flèche Wallonne and Liège-Bastogne-Liège.
Lisa Brennauer (Germany, Ceratizit-WNT Pro Cycling Team) - 1864 points: With strong results in Gent-Wevelgem, Ronde van Vlaanderen and Paris-Roubaix, Brennauer almost won a few big road races (her track palmares in 2021, however, are on another level), but didn't manage to reach the top step in WWT races this year.
Emma Norsgaard (Denmark, Movistar) - 1773 points: The emerging Danish talent won a slew of .Pro and .1 races this year, but came up shy at the WWT level, with a podium at Brugge-De Panne and 6th place in Paris-Roubaix.
Ellen Van Dijk (Netherlands, Trek-Segafredo) - 1590 points: Van Dijk had a great season by any measure, taking the Worlds TT and European road titles, but her best showing in WWT races was a pair of 2nd places in the prologue and TT stages at the Simac Ladies Tour.
Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio (South Africa, Team SD Worx) - 1453 points: Moolman-Pasio took a stage win and 2nd overall at the Giro, but the race was run as a .Pro event this year. Her Top 10s at Liège-Bastogne-Liège and Amstel Gold, and a strong showing at the Tour of Norway showed her strength, but she didn't quite get there in World Tour races.
Mavi Garcia (Spain, Alé BTC Ljubljana) - 1450 points: Always on the attack and animating races, Garcia's best World Tour showings were Top 10s in early-season classics Trofeo Alfredo Binda, Amstel Gold and Flèche Wallonne.
Elise Chabbey (Switzerland, CANYON//SRAM Racing) - 1372 points: Chabbey came close in stages across the season. Podiums and Top 10 results came in the Vuelta a Burgos, Tour of Norway, Ceratizit Challenge and The Women's Tour, as well as the Ronde van Drenthe classic.
Marta Cavalli (Italy, FDJ Nouvelle-Aquitaine Futuroscope)- 1366 points: Cavalli has been developing as a strong time trialist and GC rider, as well as finding success in the classics. Strade Bianche and Ronde brought Top 10s, as did her efforts in the Ceratizit Challenge. She will be one to watch in the coming years.
Juliette Labous (France, Team DSM) - 1134 points: A Top 10 in Flèche Wallonne was an early season highlight, whi

FDJ | FDJ NOUVELLE - AQUITAINE FUTUROSCOPE | FRA | 8 |
Longrunning French team FDJ Nouvelle - Aquitaine Futuroscope maintained some of the momentum it had seen in 2020, gradually climbing the UCI team ranking. With almost no changes to its lineup by the start of the year, the team maintained a consistent presence in the finale of races across the calendar. Now entering its 17th season, FDJ looks to improve even more over the new few years.
#2021 Season Recap
The team had a remarkably consistent 2021 season. Despite just two wins, a handful of FDJ riders secured Top 10 results throughout the year, bringing in valuable UCI points and helping the team inch up the UCI ranking. The team's star rider, Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig was the most successful, factoring in the finale of a number of top-tier races, from Strade Bianche, Trofeo Alfredo Binda and the Vuelta a Burgos - where she finally notched a long-awaited World Tour win on Stage 3 - in the spring, straight through to La Course - where she outsprinted a strong final group to finish 2nd - the Tour of Norway and the Simac Ladies Tour in the summer. Γvita Muzic took the team's other win last year, becoming the French national road race champion. She also finished 5th in San Sebastian and GP de Plouay while showing her emerging strength in stage races. Emilia Fahlin came close to success in several stages and the overall of the ThΓΌringen Ladies Tour and secured Top 10s in several spring classics, while Italian talent Marta Cavalli showed some grit in the Giro d'Italia and Ceratizit Challenge and finished the first women's Paris-Roubaix with an impressive 9th place. Clara Copponi also had a late season surge at the GP d'Isbergues and The Women's Tour. At the latter, she secured two stage finish podiums as well as 3rd place overall - the team's best GC result in a stage race all year.

I don't want to step on anybody's toes here, but the amount of non-dad jokes here in this subreddit really annoys me. First of all, dad jokes CAN be NSFW, it clearly says so in the sub rules. Secondly, it doesn't automatically make it a dad joke if it's from a conversation between you and your child. Most importantly, the jokes that your CHILDREN tell YOU are not dad jokes. The point of a dad joke is that it's so cheesy only a dad who's trying to be funny would make such a joke. That's it. They are stupid plays on words, lame puns and so on. There has to be a clever pun or wordplay for it to be considered a dad joke.
Again, to all the fellow dads, I apologise if I'm sounding too harsh. But I just needed to get it off my chest.
