A list of puns related to "Royal line of succession"
There should be a septic emperor by the time of Skyrim nearly every European alive today is related to Charlemagne and yet you except me to believe that they did not go and find the nephews of a emperor somewhere in the line the mythic dawn couldnβt kill the majority of people of the same race as Tiber septim
Do the royals have any exemptions from paying inheritance tax? When the Queen dies will her wealth be taxed as it would a normal person?

With Jon established as the rightful heir to the throne, what would his line of succession look like? In a hypothetical world where he is king and he was to die without marrying and having a child, and Dany is also dead, would Sansa have a claim to the throne based on being his oldest living relative? I ask because I don't have a strong grasp of the laws of succession and inheritance that Westeros uses.
I'm writing a dark medieval fantasy about a blood curse afflicting the male heirs of a royal family. The curse is part of a bargain stuck between the ancestral head of the family and a vengeful shade in exchange for rule of the kingdom. I'm currently dealing with a succession crisis after the previous king was found murdered. His son now assumes the crown and discovers that whomever is king must serve the spirit. As of now the shade cannot directly interact with the physical world, with the exception of the king, who shares a bond with the spirit.
Current questions:
- How does my MC learn about the curse? Could it be done through notes and diaries of previous kings, or has a council been preparing to inform the new leader know of this family's secret history?
- What happens to kings who disobey? The kings have free will, but their entire lineage is bound to the shade, so they are sworn by blood to carry out his commands. What could that power conflict look like?
-Benefits of the curse? As of right now the curse binds the family to the crown and the shade, but that's all. I'm toying with making kings partially immortal. Not in the sense they can't be harmed, but they are under the protection of the shadow who forces the hand of fate in the kings favor.
For the shade I drew inspiration from Papa Legba from Hatian folklore, Ryuk from Death Note, the Dwarf in the Flask from FMA, and Hermaues Mora from Skyrim. I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Princess Peach doesn't seem to have a mother (that I can find) and leads the kingdom, meaning she would become the Queen. There doesn't seem to be a King or Prince either, meaning that Daisy would be next up for the throne. How does this work?
