A list of puns related to "Royal College of Physicians"
I am about to start FY1 and have no idea which royal college of physicians to join. I know the Royal colleges have memberships for those in foundation training. Is there any real difference between them? I know the MRCP exams are joint but are the elearning and CPD content different?
Hi I am Addy,
I am the mother of three cats. I am also the Chair of the Trainee and Members Committee of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. I became Chair in October 2019 just before the global pandemic so this past year has been a bit of a learning curve for me. I am passionate about ensuring we get great training here in the UK and work closely with all three Royal Medical Colleges to achieve this. I am also super passionate about promoting women and minority groups in leadership roles within medicine. This year I helped launch the Associate Regional Advisor network with the Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh to give doctors more opportunities to take on leadership roles earlier on in their careers. I am an ST7 in Geriatric Medicine working in the North East with a specialist interest in dementia and delirium. I have just been offered a post as a consultant in the North East so I am super excited to be reaching the next stage soon. I am happy to chat about any of the above. Whether you want to know more about what is happening with training, whether you want tips on how to approach getting a consultancy post, or whether you want to know more about representation roles and leadership, but especially happy to hear from anyone with fur babies. Happy to chat.
Hello all,
I'm planning to take the RCPSC IM exam next year. I've heard there are old questions floating around on the net and so I was hoping to make some connections on here to get access to them.
Also I was wondering if there are any really good textbooks and other reading materials that should be on my reading list.
Cheers!
The Therapeutic Goods Administration has approved the new antibody test by company MD Solutions, which gives results within 15 minutes through an expedited approvals process.
The test has some significant limitations. Patients who’ve been recently infected but have not yet mounted an immune response will not return a positive result.
In addition, the test has a lower sensitivity, meaning it will give a negative result to some patients who do have the disease.
But antibody tests give a positive result to people who have had the disease in the past, meaning they can show who might have some immunity and may be at a lower risk of contracting the virus again.
>“This is one of the most important things in the crisis — getting testing right,” said Professor Nicholas Talley, who edits the Australian Medical journal, and a former president of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
A spokesperson for the TGA said the Doherty Institute in Melbourne would be assessing how the tests perform to ensure they are used in the best way possible.
I wanted to post this -yet again- to keep it fresh, in lieu of misinformation out there from non-vapers and unfortunately, vapers as well.
Let me remind everyone that the Royal College of Physicians is one of the most prestigious organizations in the world, and the first one to warn us about the link between smoking, cancer and cardiovascular deceases in 1962.

... keep reading on reddit ➡I've seen that the RCP are going to hold a review of their opposition to legalising cannabis. Does anybody know where you can find the timescales on when they'll be doing that? I'm guessing it is not a particularly fast process, orgs like that don't rush anything.
It'll make big news if they retract their opposition and would be a major step towards legalisation in the UK. Wouldn't surprise me if they've had a nudge from somebody to have a look at their policies in exchange for some cash.
Anyway, anybody got a clue?
