Does anyone have advice on landing entry level remote/hybrid positions here? I just want an honest job so I don’t become homeless any help appreciated

I didn’t move here in a β€œhoping I make it in the industry” way, but to help my family that’s here. I’ve been doing door dash to make up for income but someone opened their door while I was on a scooter and I cracked my head open and dislocated my knee. I can walk with a limp but I can’t door dash and my current remote position is cutting everyones hours.

The majority of my work history is in North Carolina and I think that’s possibly why I’m not getting many hits, even for entry level positions. I’m open to hybrid or office settings too, but I have a scar on my face now that wouldnt really do me any favors in LA.. here’s a redacted copy of my resume if anyone has any tips? Thank you! πŸ™πŸΎ

Does anyone work 100% remotely? If so, do you have any advice for finding an entry level remote job?

I've been underemployed since college, trapped in restaurants, for some reason never being able to find a decent full time job. NYC is too expensive for me, but i'm trapped here waiting tables slowly, slowly saving money, trying to plan my escape and figure out a career once and for all. The only plan that makes sense in my head is finding an entry level remote job in tech / finance, then moving to a way cheaper part of the country, paying off my debt, and saving money, and finding some shred of privacy & some semblance of quality of life.

I'd love to speak with anybody who has any knowledge of remote jobs, any tips or tricks for finding something entry level, or any advice what so ever. I'm really tired of struggling and being an underpaid abused slave even with a bachelors degree and a brain. It's dehumanizing and beyond depressing. I know I could be an asset to any company, I'm intelligent, I can talk to people, all of the things. It just seems like everything is "who you know".

I've considered learning programming because I know software engineers make very good money, and I need to enter an industry where there is room for advancement, to move up and make more money eventually. But i'm not going to lie, i'm a little all over the place, because everyone I know is also a miserable working class slave that has no knowledge about anything business related.

Id love to speak with anybody who might have some advice for finding remote work, or if by chance anybody is hiring or knows of anybody hiring. Thank you so much for any help you can provide and happy thanksgiving to you all.

Hubstaff, remote data entry job asking for credit card to give payment for purchasing starting materials?

I just got accepted to a job at a company I saw an ad for online (fb buy sell trade in my area) and the company looks legit. They say that I have to get $3,500 of materials and whatnot for the job which makes sense, but they're saying that they're gonna put the funds into my credit card or something and then they'll give me the company vendor's address. I was thinking that this was legit but it's seeming less and less like it

Looking for Entry Remote Job

Hello everyone! I'm a college student taking a break this upcoming semester. I'm looking for a good way to make money remotely on the computer/over the phone. I have no experience with data entry but am skilled at typing, can retrieve information, and have access to a good workspace and high-speed internet. I have basic literacy when it comes to spreadsheets and whatnot as well. I have applied to a couple remote customer service positions already since I have a couple years of experience with customer service, but looking for some more places. Any recommendations?

I really would prefer a remote, work from home job. I know traditionally it was frowned upon to work from home your first year in the business but I think after Covid maybe things have changed? Would I be able to work from home as an entry level financial advisor or analyst? Preferably a 9-5 job aswell. Im in Long Island NY by the way and just passed my series 7 and 63

Entry-Level Remote Job for students?

Hello all:

I am a WGU student, about 1/2 way through my BS in Software Development. I plan to accelerate and finish up by May, or this summer at the latest.

However, my job situation is shaky. It has been since Covid started. I've pieced together a bit of this and that, but I really need a FT job by the middle of January or things will start looking dire.

So I thought I'd try and network here with fellow WGU students and alums. Does anyone know of any remote jobs that pay decently ($18+/hr)? My only requirement is that it has to be remote. It doesn't have to be tech-related, although that would be ideal, of course. I have 10 years of customer service related experience, 5 years of search engine evaluation for a Google subcontractor, 6 years of QA for UserTesting (and more).

I will say that I am at my best when I communicate through writing vs phones, but I'm open to almost whatever, except perhaps sales (I am honestly just really really bad at sales pitches).

If anyone has any leads or ideas, please let me know. Feel free to PM if you prefer.

Thanks!

I’m a visual artist looking for a remote WFR job, entry level, any leads appreciated.

Hey all, I’m a painter based in Brooklyn and work 3 part time jobs at the moment. I’m sick of commuting and need fund ASAP as the service industry/in-person gigs are really slow during this time of year. I have basic knowledge of Adobe (photoshop, illustrator), Excel, and have done customer service jobs in the past. I’m great with problem and doing really repetitive tasks and love anything that lets me creatively problem-solve.

Really looking to get into some sort of wfh design job with little remote experience I’m having trouble figuring out where to start.

Any leads appreciated.

Thank you

Got a job offer as Remote Data Entry Operator for Aurinia Pharmaceuticals for 27CAD/hr

As title said, I got a job offer. The pay is a bit high compared to other similar positions but consider they ask for minimum 4 hours of work every weekday, I didn't find it too strange.

I applied for this on Indeed. The recruiter's language seems to be very professional with no grammar error. He asked for image of my Gov ID (I used driver's license), proof of address and void cheque.

I signed the Employment Contract and even tried to ring the number given in the contract and someone did pick up. Again, Canadian accent, professional attitude.

However, I am a bit skeptical because like I said, the pay is too high. They also mentioned that Gracorp will be responsible for installing my home office but when I emailed Gracorp, they told me they have no association with the company (could be because Aurinia hasn't contacted them for the installing job yet, idk).

Anyway, my concern is that with the info I have given them, can they do any harm to me? I'll be posting the Employment Contract content (remove personal info obviously) in the comment as well so you guys can see

Thanks

College Certificate, no industry certs. No entry level jobs nearby, remote positions are extremely competitive.

So, I'm in my mid 30's and I'm an extreme late bloomer due to mental health issues. Went to school for CS at 24 and had a mental breakdown, decided to study online a year later. The courses were awful - on campus wasnt much better but the online courses boiled down to read a chapter then do questions/assignment. Book learning is awful, especially for something hands on like CS.

Due to funding limitations I constantly had to scale back what I was studying for. It was no longer a degree, but then a 2 yr diploma. Eventually just a 1 yr certificate. I couldn't accept debt because if I had an issue while working I'd be screwed in more ways than just not having a job. The 'certificate' is an IT certificate but there was absolutely no IT in the courses, however I learned a lot of troubleshooting skills on my own over the years. In April 2020 I finally graduated, I felt nothing. There was no job market, and IT jobs in my area are already few and far between. I was studying for a CCNA during that time and the exam center here(300km away) cancelled in-person exams. It wasn't until months later that Pearson allowed people to do online exams, at that point all that studying was out the window due to no tangible way to practice.

I contacted our provincial job agency thing and they couldn't find anything that wasn't already on a job posting website. The first interview I did get was with two very confrontational recruiters who said I likely wasn't getting the position without a 4 year degree, yet the position paid $17/hr. The position was more or less assembling networks based on customer and manager specifications before it was shipped out to them. No other companies called me back. I managed to get a job at a lab doing grunt work but ended up having a constant, severe panic attack and had to put my notice in.

I've applied to remote positions but most of them appear to have over 100+ applicants and I can't see any way I'm going to stack up. Most of the remote positions in Canada are temporarily remote and I can't justify moving to say, Vancouver or Toronto for a job that pays 45k-55k/yr, if that, if they decide to call in employees.

I'm at a loss of what to do, there are simply no entry level, help desk positions here. If there are, there are dozens of eager candidates that are more qualified than me. I constantly feel like I'm running out of time and suicide is becoming more and more like a viable option.

Are there any good, actually entry level, remote jobs?

I'm trying to find a second job, to help pay off my credit card and then save up some money to move.

I've tried finding jobs close enough to my area that also don't conflict with my other job but I'm not having any luck. I figured there's gotta be some, decently paying remote/work from home job that doesn't require some fancy degree.

I'm not expecting some really great job with awesome benefits. Just something that can decently help me save up money for the year.

How do I find a entry level remote job with no experience?

I'm 27 male living in the United States. I currently work as a secuirty guard and looking for a career change. Since this pandemic I want to work from home and will want to keep doing remote work. I also have a disability and since I've been looking online most of the jobs seem to be remote IT, programming, or coding. I don't have a lot of work experience I've done security most of my work career, I've done unpaid intern at a computer repair shop, done some store work. I also have 3 to 4 years of community College I've went to. But none of what I learned applied to work from home jobs. I don't mind learning a new skill while I work remotely. Or take a low skilled job and learning my way up. But so far most of the ones I've seen are data entry or virtual bookkeeping which seemed interesting. I would like to know what are some other options I could do?

The title basically! I am newly graduated and just landed a candidate sourcing role at a big recruiting company.
