Vancouver BC to Radium Hot Springs through Washington state?
Hi all, as I'm sure you're well aware half of our highways washed away. They're not expecting it to be ready for significant travel for months. My sister is visiting from Australia for Christmas and we've already planned a trip to Radium Hot Springs. Judging by WSDOT it doesn't look like there should be any problems.
Should we expect any issues on highway 5 > 90 > 95 just after Christmas?Is that the best route per Google?What's the best place for an overnight stop around Spokane?

EDIT: Thanks for the pointers. Seems like Snoqualmie is a bit like our Coquihalla. We'll be in an new AWD with M+S tires so should be fine as long as we take it easy in snow.
Suggestions for activities in and around Radium Hot Springs
We are 2 couples celebrating our anniversary on the 13/14 of November. We would like to know what activities are available in and around the Radium Hot springs and Golden area that are open. Most (if not all) of the summer activities are closed and winter ones aren't open yet. We prefer ATV/snowmobile/dog sledding tours, but they are all closed. Looking to this sub reddit to provide some suggestions. We are all fully vaccinated and will carry proof. Thanks in advance.

TIL that there is a radium-laced hot springs in Iran, the radium eroding from rocks underground. Despite the cancer risk associated with the radiation, the hot springs are used as spas and are a popular tourist destination.

My favourite place to walk near Radium Hot Springs
camped out for a night unexpectedly on BLM land in Colorado this past summer, near-ish to Radium Hot Springs, where we camped the next night with friends. it was lovely to wake up and pack up to this view of a brief rainstorm coming through. (ft my lovely wife and a morning beer)

Any information about Radium Hot Spring?
My friends and I are looking for a hike and hot spring close to Denver. Radium is about 2.5 hours away. Google maps says it permanently closed but it's a natural hot spring so I don't see how that is possible. Can anyone shed some light?

Smoke conditions in Radium Hot Springs
Hello neighbours! We have a camping trip planned next week to Radium Hot Springs and Kootenay National Park. I heard they re-opened highway 93 today. I'm wondering about the smoke and other road closures in the area? I know it's still a week away and lots of things can change in that time. Just wondering if we may have to change some of our hiking plans. If anyone has a website you can point me at that would help.

Radium Hot Springs health effects?
So radium is radioactive and that means radon (a carcinogen). Yet people are still soaking in these hot springs.

Dose seems to be low enough that going once won't kill you but like if you're going every day for like a 2 hour soak that radiation exposure really adds up. And people still keep going without knowing how bad it could be for them.
