Epic movie where a film crew head to exotic location for a shoot, but due to misunderstanding some criminals think they're like CIA or something and take some of them hostage. There's a bunch of explosions and a cool helicopter crash and then the good guys make an awesome escape. It's super rad.

In the movie Rad (1984) you can see an ad with Eddie Fiola for GT BMX on the back of a magazine. Eddie Fiola did most of the BMX stunts in the film for the main character Cru Jones.

The BMX film Rad seems to get a lot of attention on boards but you know what film I really enjoyed in the same genre? BMX Bandits
The kids adventure film from Australian director Brian Trenchard Smith and it is Nicole Kidman's first movie. It's quite an entertaining ride with some cool stunts and chase scenes. I believe it was the directors first kids movie he typically directed exploitation films and action films. It's a lot of fun kids get chased all over Sydney by some gangster types. This film looks really good in HD and it makes the locations really stand out and makes them vibrant to look at.

Rad (1986) was 80s movie perfection
I can't think of a movie that more perfectly captures the 80s genre than Rad, starring Bill Allen and Lori Loughlin (before she went to prison). It's got BMX bikes, feathered hair, catchy synth-pop, a random cameo by Ray Walston (My Favorite Martian), and a mindless-yet-satisfying storyline that's totally predictable at every step. If you haven't seen this gem, consider getting yourself a copy (preferably on VHS).
