A list of puns related to "Race Walking Association"
Our 4.5 months old daughter needs to be held and rocked while I walk to make her fall asleep. Both for naps and bedtime. Nothing else works, including baby carriers which she absolutely hates.
Most days I can put her down for the night sometime after 9pm, and she stays down till about 6-6:30am, waking up 2-3 times for breastfeeding which we do in a side lying position while bed sharing, and she usually doesnβt fully wake up. This is good and very much manageable for me, at least for now. But she is a contact napper and naps for only one cycle (about 40-45 minutes) at a time. Even then she is very sensitive while asleep and slightly wakes up at least 2 times during one nap; and as soon as she notices that I am sitting down holding her, she wiggles and I need to promptly start walking again to keep her asleep; otherwise she fully wakes up. And as the naps are so short, she takes at least 5-6 of them each day; after 5pm or so the awake times are super short and itβs almost constant napping with lots of walking around involved.
Now this is getting exhausting for me. This is going on for about two months I think. I am doing this the whole day and my husband takes care of all household chores alongside his work from home full time job. He has a chronic spinal issue, so cannot hold baby for long. So, this is getting extremely taxing and monotonous for both of us.
I posted before about her sleep problems and many people suggested that it is 4 month sleep regression; but I am afraid that we have created an unsustainable sleep association for her and she is also not getting the quality sleep she needs. She is a happy and active baby when she is awake, but the awake windows are very short and she gets tired and fussy soon. If anyone has experience with weaning baby from this walk-sleep association and contact napping, we will really appreciate your suggestions and advices.
Hey just reading up on The National Association of City Transportation Officials (NACTO) and I figured the good people of /notjustbikes would enjoy some of what they are doing. Also looking for other resources for advocating change in the US.
Their mission statement seems on point ::
"
Our Mission
NACTOβs mission is to build cities as places for people, with safe, sustainable, accessible, and equitable transportation choices that support a strong economy and vibrant quality of life.

I was recommended to review the following for some programs on what to advocate for in my hood:

Looking for more research on what to do with our "slow streets" program and what we should be advocating for ...
βThe National School Boards Association (NSBA) respectfully asks for federal law enforcement and other assistance to deal with the growing number of threats of violence and acts of intimidation occurring across the nation.β
β.. many public school officials are also facing physical threats because of propaganda purporting the false inclusion of critical race theory within classroom instruction and curricula. This propaganda continues despite the fact that critical race theory is not taught in public schools and remains a complex law school and graduate school subject well beyond the scope of a K-12 class.β
