I’m interested in emulating mainly for playing some 3ds, wii/u, switch, Ps2/3, psp.
I want to play mainly the god of war games, Zelda, Mario and Pokemon. And also intend to discover/rediscover some consoles libraries.
The use case is I like to play in a big screen, tv mainly but I travel very often and I have a very long commute (about an hour), so I’m thinking in getting the rog with the dock and a good control like the kunai gamepad 3 for portability.
Edit: Arya neo and steamdeck are alternatives, but steam doesn’t ship to my country currently. But also if I wait for a gen1 with good cooling I might wait for the steam deck or next version of arya neo or something of that form factor.

I will buy a rog5 and I will do the local homologation process for the phone to not be blocked at my country, I’ve also heard about an firmware issue? Can someone elaborate on that. What cautions should I take on that regard.
Also I want to put a screen protector, what should I do in this regard? Glass+glass, or glass+ a case.
What cooling should I get, I’ve heard that temps are an issue so what is the best cooling solution for this phone? The propetary cooling or the shark one? Idk the name sorry lol, but I’ve seen it being sold at my country.
Is the gamepad kunai 3 really that good? Or should I look to other options?
Also, sorry if I have a ton of questions but I want to really take care of this phone and I pretend to use it for a few years at least, and I also come from an iPhone so I’m not very familiar with the android side of things.
I have an ROG Phone 3 and it's screen unfortunately got broken and there aren't any ASUS Repair centers for phones in my country , only laptops, PCs and all that stuff, now the problem is I can't seem to find a legit OEM display with all the features like AMOLED , 144hz etc, I see cheap displays and it says it has AMOLED but also says it's an "LCD AMOLED" which doesn't make any sense and I can't trust those screens to be any good... I just wanna know a good website that ships internationally where I can get a good quality display, I tried wit rigs and it had 144hz, definitely was an AMOLED but in the dark the display was SUPER grainy , and it ATE through my battery life, my og display got me through the day with 7-8 even 10 hours of on screen time if I used it moderately, this display dropped it down to 4 hours! Please help
I tried the volume up + down method and it worked for like 2 seconds then it went back to a black screen again. is there any other way I can fix this?
If so, what are the possible reasons why my ROG Phone 2 won't work with my Twin View Dock 3? It works fine with my Twin View Dock 2, btw, as it obviously should.

I got Asus Rog Phone 5 Ultimate with Kunai 3 Gamepad and eveything was normal until a couple of days ago when I attach the gamepad with the device through USB-C, the Key Mapping is not showing up in the Game Genie toolbar. I've tried to connect it via Bluetooth and it working fine. However, the gamepad is detected and the green indicator is on via USB-C. All softwares are up to date and everything seems to be ok but the Key Mapping unable to activate.
Moreover, I also got the AeoActive Cooler and the fan is not functioning too. Even though, it is detected in Armoury Crate Console.
I'm not sure if it is device ports firmware malfunction or update issues.
Your help would be really appreciated.
I'm thinking about finally upgrading my Galaxy S9 after 3 years. I'm still mostly happy with the phone, but the battery is starting to get drained quickly and I think 3 years is a good amount of time to upgrade. Samsung ditched the 3.5mm jack so I'm ditching them after having an S3 and S6 as well.
Ideally I'm looking for this:
- 5G capabilities
- 3.5mm jack - don't bother convincing me to get a bluetooth headset, I already have one, I'm happy with it, but can't be arsed with keeping up checking the battery of yet another device. This is my only must when upgrading.
- 128GB internal capacity minimum
- Nice speakers: Don't worry, don't plan of using it in public transport, but I do listen to music every now and then from the speakers... generally because my bluetooth speaker is out of battery and can't be bother to charge it.
- Dual SIM
- Android 11 would be nice, although to be honest I can never tell the difference between OSs.
I've been having a look at the potential candidates and looks like the Poco M4 has all of the above, but it's sometimes listed as a budget phone, although I'm not sure what that entitles. Also, I've heard that MIUI has tons of bloatware (not that the Galaxy phones didn't)
Asus has the Zenfone 8 and ROG Phone 5 which are definitely more expensive options than the POCO M4 and aren't listed as "budget phones", but they do seem part of a niche market so I'm not sure if I should risk spending a large amount on these.
Sony Phones look amazing, but definitely amongst the most expensive ones.
Are there any other options available given the criteria above that I'm not considering?

This might be stupid idea to ask which one is better, here. Obviously you guy already more into Rog Phone 5. But currently I can't decide between them. Both they have high end power, so I only comparing build quality, side button's feeling, ergonic, software optimization, constant update, lesser bloatware, clean interface etc. Currently bit more into Rog Phone 5, but can you guys persuade me more, so I no longer do research and buy it without hesitation?

I mainly play genshin impact, and i know my note 9 struggles. And i want to play it at as stable 30 fps as possible. 60 fps is out of the picture.
Now the Asus Rog Phone 3 Strix Edition is an older phone by now. Is it a worthwhile investment, or is it stupid considering when the Rog 3 lineup launched?
Also the Strix Edition is the only one available here, so cant get the 865+ chip.
If not, got any alternative? Reason is i found i good deal on it, but I wanna know if im shooting myself in the foot. Looked at the Rog 5, but then my budget cant keep up.

Hello so I'm really going to consider upgrading from rog phone 2 to rog phone 5, but I keep seeing this "tencent version" which I heard is the Chinese variant, and doesn't exactly work well in the US(heard the signal bands are LITTERALLY laughable and there are weird Chinese apps you can't remove). I live on East coast of USA, but I don't see any US/international/global versions, but when I do see those, it instantly says "tencent" after it, which I've heard doesn't exactly exist.
I have TMobile and I want decent signal bands. Does anyone know where to find a variant that will work good in the US??? I keep only finding tencent version :/

Hi all I am the owner of a ROG Phone 5, coming from a Xiami Redmi Note 7. On my redmi I had the option to hold the home button to lock the phone. This option is not existing in my new ROG Phone, is there an app or a way to lock the phone holding the home button?
Reason: I had various experiences of physical screen off button breaking, and it was a real, real mess. Plus, I find it more conveniente than activating the assistant, that I van activate with my voice.

Bad news as the I001D and I01WD were removed from the lineage-build-targets today and lost official support.
The old builds are automatically removed from the LineageOS servers after 4~6 weeks so you should save a copy of at least the last build & Lineage recovery if you have those models.

So what happened I was browsing on Reddit, I saw a comment with YouTube Video link that leads to a video to something I wanted to know. After clicking the link, the phone just froze and then 20secs after it just turned off. I've tried force restarting and plugging into the charger. No reactions at all. the phone is like on 87% Battery and was serviced before in the past.
I have no idea man, I'm really frustrated with Asus Phones bricking out of the blues.
I'm thinking about buying the ROG Phone 5s pro and I was wondering if anyone here has info about when the 5s pro will get the Android 12 update. All I read is that it will apparently get A12 in Q1. But when in Q1? January, February, end of March? If you know please share your source of information.
As an owner of a RP2, 1 TB Global Version I noticed that every RP after RP2 came with a max capacity of 512 GB internal storage. Did ASUS decide to discontinue the 1 TB storage? That's really one of my favorite things about the ROG Phone, and I'm disappointed that they didn't add it back to any of their new ROG Phones. Their are very few phones in the world with 1 TB internal storage, and I think this was one of the features that made the ROG Phone stand out from the rest. And gave me the ability to brag about having a Phone with 1 TB internal storage.
I'm currently sitting at 612 GB / 1 TB with my RP2. And I'm thinking about buying the ROG Phone 5s Pro which has a max storage of 512 GB.
Please share your thoughts about this issue, and wether or not you believe we will see a ROG Phone with 1 TB internal storage again.

I figured my S7 is well past due for an upgrade. The internal storage is bloated and it feels like the battery life is starting to deteriorate.
I figured I'd just upgrade to an S21, or wait for the S22 to come out. However I've also had my eye on the ROG Phone 5. I don't do a ton of mobile gaming, but I've been thinking of getting into mobile emulators and Genshin, and either way the ROG 5 has some pretty impressive specs, especially the refresh rate, battery life, and cooling. The extra "shoulder" buttons sound useful as well, as does the clip on fan and those kunai controllers.
However I've heard the camera isn't that great, and the phone isn't water resistant. I've also heard that people have had issues with RAM and motherboard failure (though those are from Amazon reviews, so accuracy is hard to tell), and that ROG phones don't get much support for OS and security updates. I also have no idea what the ROG Phone UI/UX is like, or any of it's non-gaming features.
Is the ROG Phone 5 worth it, or would I be better off getting an S21, or waiting for the S22?
I'm also open to any other suggestions for high-spec phones below Apple prices.

I'm planning to buy rog phone 5 this December 6 can anyone tell me how to know if the phone is original, not the tencent version because i heard there's a lot of issues with the tencent version, and does the original rog phone 5 has less issues hopefully no issues at all, and if should i update it's software or not because i also heard a lot of people complain that they experienced issues after updating it, also what should i expect in this phone, and what to do and what not to do, Thank you^^.
