A list of puns related to "Amoled"
I saw the post yesterday about being worried about burn-in with the Epix AMOLED screen and thought I would chat with support to get any sort of official information. As a note, I am from the US and warranty laws may be different elsewhere.
Here is the transcript:

>Amber: Thanks for shopping on Garmin.com. What questions can I answer for you?
>
>alfuh: Hello Amber, I have a question on warranty coverage for the Epix watch. As an OLED screen I worry about burn-in and was wondering what length of warranty coverage there is against burn-in?
>
>Amber: There is not warranty specifically related to the screen, the warranty is a 12 month limited warranty

>alfuh: Thank you for sending that along, I will be sure to read through those links. I know this is a new product, but since there have been OLED on Venu, Venu 2, Venu 2+, what is protocol if a screen gets burn-in outside of 1 year?
>
>Amber: I have been wearing a Venu 2s for almost a year, and with the recommended settings I have not seeing any burn in
>
>Amber: But we do not have any extended warranty for burn in
>
>alfuh: With the webhelp link you sent, it seems like Garmin is recommending to not use always on display, is that correct?
>
>Amber: That is the recomendation
>
>Amber: recommendation
>
>alfuh: Thank you. Also, if there is burn-in out of warranty is there a way to send the watch in to have a replacement screen installed? If so what is the cost associated with that?
>
>alfuh: Apologies for all the questions, but I am quite interested in this product and it costs about as much as my TV lol
>
>Amber: We do not do repairs, only exchanges, so the screen could not be replaced, there would be a fee for out of warranty exchange/
>
>alfuh: Understood. Is there already guidance on what a replacement would cost for an Epix 2? Is it a percentage of original price?
Are people not concerned about burn in?
The dark mode in the signal app is quite annoying it's greyish not the true dark theme.. so i switched to molly(FOSS) but missing some stock signal app features like payments,Screenlock with FP..So I've been thinking of switching back to stock signal app if there any alternatives or workarounds to bring amoled Black theme let me know in comments thanks in advance...
After reading up on the new Garmin Epix and the screen, I am super impressed with the alleged battery life considering it has the amoled screen, I would be out there tomorrow buying it only for the fact it has ha whole lot of functions I doubt I would need, like topo maps, I very rarely go trail running and definitely not somewhere I don't know, also do not need surf details, windsurf speeds, ski resorts etc.
Anyway point of the post is, do we think we will ever get a vantage V with an amoled screen, that at present is the holy grail for me.
Moin,
Question to Connect IQ devs:
Is there a lot of additional coding with converting a TFT widget/face/app to AMOLED?
Does it need to be coded from scratch or as long as pixel densities are the same it's touch and go?
Also, how do you deal with sizes/densities? Is it essentially writing from the ground up for 1.2", 1.3" and 1.4" screens? Is it much work to adapt to the 3 sizes?
Always been curious. Thanks a ton.
