A list of puns related to "RM discography"
So I'm currently taking a pause from cycling to post this because I want to know if any of you have recently been looping a BTS song, which one(s), and why?
I saw someone mention on Twitter that they were doing their annual listen of BTS's discography from start to finish, and I decided to do 1 album each day and today was Dark & Wild.
I CANT GET PAST "LET ME KNOW" ๐ญ
I keep looping the chorus right before RM's verse and replaying that part to the end and it's so, so beautiful. I go back and listen to different members, the mix of vocals, the instrumental, Jimin's high note in the back. I plan on doing this for the entire song lol
I wish BTS could perform this song live in their current state, because they've all improved and matured so so much since D&W. This is a new wish of mine ๐ฉ
EDIT: Thanks for sharing your songs everyone. I've been reading every reply, and I hope BTS could see just how loved their entire discography is. ๐
As is yearly tradition, over the month of December I posted two songs per day in the Daily Discussion threads (one single and one album track (mostly)) that I felt went unnoticed by most people but would potentially be enjoyed, and this is a compilation of those write-ups.
Thereโs a definite pop focus but I picked these tracks with an ear for diversity of sound/artistry so thereโs quite a few different things going on here and some picks that might make you roll your eyes, but I think thereโs something for everyone! FFO means โFor Fans Of,โ itโs a reference point for who I think would like each song.
Here is a link to a playlist I made of (most) of the songs.
#Singles:
> Joyce Wrice (ft. Freddie Gibbs) - On One (from Overgrown)
> FFO: Tinashe
It seems like everyone is nostalgic for the โ00s these days but if you were specifically missing those block party busting r&b jams, Joyce Wrice has you covered. She oozes the essence of this era of r&b starlets thanks to her flirty-yet-fiery delivery and the Aaliyah sample (โRock The Boatโ) takes this connection even further, but the charismatic rap verse from Freddie Gibbs has a distinctly more modern feeling that still flows well. One of many stellar tracks on her debut album but it stands out thanks to the pop friendly hooks and crazy replay value.
> FFO: Red Velvet
In tarot the โWheel Of Fortuneโ card is supposed to invoke good luck and prosperity and the song really captures that vibe with the bright melody and hopeful lyrics, both of which Riri carries perfectly. The quirky production makes everything even more exciting, itโs got a new jack swing beat but then thereโs all sorts of horns and synths and samples layered on top so itโs just brimming with energy while still being perfectly in control.
> LรLร - Hurt Less (from overkill)
> FFO: Avril Lavigne
Emo pop-rock meets self-deprecating Tik Tok music, and thatโs a compliment! Canadian singer LรLร started with this sound last year (so she was actually a bit ahead of the curve on this trend) but she took until this year with the overkill EP to really nail it. This song is indulgently relatable and the chorus just creeps up on you, itโs so catchy and

One of the largest misconceptions we have as a community, at least in my eyes, is that KMA, or the Korean Popular Music Awards, is one award show that awards the ACTUAL best of Korean music, and is somehow very quality. This might be true, but I very very strongly disagree with our kpop community's rhetoric about them, and how they somehow are the true indicator of what's quality of Korean music.
I did a search on the big 3 kpop subreddits to see what people think about KMA, and these are some of the things I saw:
I have to ask here, what IS quality in music? Is that not inherently subjective? How can we hold an award show to high regard just because they don't award idols often? But anyways, continuing...
There's a lot of negative perception about idols and idol music in Korea. Only specific songs chart well, and even then it's only modest success, rarely ever chart-topping. In the words of Seventeen's leader S.Coups:
>Just because we are idols, even CARATs who likes us are getting ne

I always wanted to do one for BTS but the lack of motivation, plus doing these can be time consuming, although I do enjoy it--but the semester just ended and I have time to kill so, nevertheless, we're finally here!
Ranking BTS's Title Tracks in Tiers!
How it works: all of the group's title tracks will be put into a tier: C, B, A, or S
S represents the highest quality songs that the group has put out yet (in my opinion) while C covers the ones I believe are generally more lacking in terms of the group's discography.
Discretion: Please remember that just because I ranked some songs lower than others, that does not mean that I hate or despise those songs. I absolutely do not! I love BTS and cherish all their songs, title tracks, down to their b-sides!
Do not take my rankings so seriously as I only did this for fun. I am only one person! And everything here is based on my beliefs and preferences. We'll always be entitled to our own opinions. Please respect my opinions as well as everyone else!
I'll be following Kprofiles' entry for BTS's Discography, and to also keep this as short as possible, I'll be ruling out any solo songs and sticking to only OT7 releases. If something is inaccurately depicted or I missed anything, feel free to correct me. Now enough of me babbling, let's move onto the rankings!
All of the songs in a particular tier are not in any order unless stated otherwise!
C Tier: The lowest tier. Songs that are still definitely good and very much BTS, but falls short when compared to the ones in other tiers.

- Randy Shilts, And the Band Played On: People, Politics, and the AIDS Epidemic
It's very hard for me to write about the AIDS epidemic of the early 80s. There is a lot of injustice, sadness and blatant homophobia involved in it, which makes it all in all pretty hard to write about. However, despite all that, I think it's important. Today, in honour of world AIDS day, I would like to talk about 6 artists who passed away suffering from AIDS. Most of them were gay or bi, others weren't. Common between all of them is that they suffered from a lack of information and policy, causing an increase in infection rate and delaying production of a medicine. A disgusting example of this: in 1982 when over 800 people died from AIDS in the US alone, the press secretary to Ronald Reagan laughed at a question about AIDS.
It makes me mad to think about what each of these artists could've accomplished had they been alive. It makes me mad to think about how many deaths of both celebrities and non-celebrities could have been prevented. It makes me mad to see too many of these artists barely discussed. So that's why I wanted to write this, so there will hopefully be more discussion surrounding these artists and their music. I want to write mostly about each artist's music, because there's much more to them than just somebody who passed from AIDS, but for each of them I've included how they responded to the disease, how and when they died, because as sad as it is, that's also a part of their story. I realize that this is heavier than most of the stuff posted or commented on the sub, but I think it's important to discuss this type of stuff too, especially considering the large number of lgbt+ people on this sub. With all that out of the way, let's take a closer look at these ten artists, shall we?
While in the early 80s the disco scene might've lost its mainstream popularity, for gay men the scene was as alive as ever. One of the artists who made extremely high-quality disco, was Patrick Cowley. While an important songwriter and producer (including a 15'45" remix of Donna Summer's I Feel Love) in his own right, Cowley also made some great tracks himself. Menergy*,

What is this?: This is a feature designed to highlight the unknown/underappreciated groups and soloists working hard in the Kpop world that often fall under the radar. Please share your own information, favorite performance videos, fanmeet stories, or anything else relevant below!
In the last roundup we got to know some Great Guys. Since the Nomination Round for the 3rd Annual Nugu Awards will start next week, I thought it would be nice to take a quick look at all of the new groups who have debuted this year (at least those which will fit the criteria of the Nugu Awards). These are going to be quick-takes as there are a lot of groups to cover. Some of these groups have appeared on Nugu Roundup in the past, and some will appear as full features in the future.
The groups highlighted in this post will all be groups assumed to be 'safe' in terms of eligibility for this year's awards.
What is Nugu?: While in Korean it literally means 'Who' in the broader Kpop context it refers to groups that are generally unknown amongst the greater public. It doesn't have to mean they're extremely new, though it can, and there are of course varying degrees of 'unknown' which some groups having very strong niche fandoms and others being almost invisible. I take a fairly broad view and will include groups that may be known to some, but who don't have widespread name recognition.
I can't claim that this is comprehensive of all debuts in 2021, and I've left out temporary project groups and underground groups with no promotion, but if there's anyone you know who's been missed please comment and share them below.
Let's get on with the show...

Yeah I'm reposting it because the original post got removed for not including the name of the band in the title. I was pretty sure that the big ass purple 'BTS/ARMY' flair was rather self-explanatory, but seemingly it wasn't. I want this rant to stay here, so I'm going to copypaste it, also thank you for all the comments in the OG post.
This is a veeeeeeeeeeery (unnecessarily) long rant about how the last week resulted in the culmination of all my pet peeves and frustrations since I became Jin biased almost two years ago. I might be beating a dead horse here, but I need to vent (and want to use the rest of my free time for useless things, because I can).
For those of you who donโt know, Jin akgaes and victimizers have had several meltdowns since the release of My Universe. First they got furious that Jin only got a few seconds in the song, then that he supposedly was treated badly by PDogg in the making-of documentary, then that his one line resulted in a very limited individual screentime in the music video. The last one had to be the final straw, because Twitter got flooded with hashtags like โBE FAIR TO JINโ and accusations of his mistreatment. There were also comments on Reddit. Some of them were very dramatic and FULL of misinformation.
Gotta be honest with you: while I personally donโt believe heโs being mistreated at all, during my time as a Jin biased ARMY I have had my fair share of salt. Some things were just a matter of (mis)interpretation, some have a sensible explanation, but could be executed way better (ON dance break, Dynamite MV), some are unexplainable (Not Today MV, the heck was that?). Therefore I can understand that people can have opinions and be upset about things. A lot of fans are, however, going way overboard with it, this is why I collected some of the crap I see most often and tried to confront it.
1. Jin never gets lines, he has the least amount of lines in the band. Heโs always last in the vocal line and the rapline gets more lines than him.
Somehow itโs 2021 and people still say it. Iโm personally amazed by how people always bend this argument in order to fit the narrative. When he started to get a lot of lines in the Japanese songs, people were complaining about the Korean discography. When he got lines in Butter, they were saying it wouldnโt happen again. When PTD happened, they repeated the complaint about the Korean songs. You simply cannot win.
As a toddler ARMY I wondered why people never noticed Jin get

Pilot on me!!
The boys are back in town!! I always love BTS award show performances, and I can't wait for Sunday! So I figured this would be as good a time as any to share my overwrought, almost-certainly-not-true interpretation of Suga's rap verse in "Butter."
When "Butter" first came out, some listeners expressed surprise and in some cases disappointment that it was such a departure from BTS' earlier work. BTS themselves, and RM in particular, emphasized that "Butter" was meant to be a fun, even escapist summer song, and in time many listeners came to appreciate the song for what it was.
BUT I think that, in classic BTS style, the rap verse of "Butter" is more substantial than it first appears and in fact is deeply connected to BTS' earlier discography. Specifically, I contend that Yoongi's verse in "Butter" is a direct call back to his cathartic final lines in "The Last" off of 2016's Agust D.
In "Butter," Yoongi's verse in full goes:
Ice on my wrist, I'm the nice guy
Got the right body and the right mind
Rolling up the party, got the right vibe
Smooth like (butter), hate us (love us)
Fun, upbeat, and smooth like butter, right? We probably don't have to go any deeper than appreciating Yoongi's delivery and the little hint of his Korean stutter style that we get in "rolling up to the party".
And yet! Here are the final lines of The Last:

I won't be doing that today!
The message it conveyed was probably what I needed during this corona crisis. I found every single song deep and meaningful. This has become my fav BTS album for past 2 years cuz it's wholesome.
-LGO: assures you that things will eventually become normal but, not half-heartedly.
-Fly to my room: has the blues๐. Not just the lyrics but the melody...it gives me peace of mind
Blue & grey: How soothing it is! They made a song about depression which, I think most ppl have during thus time
Dis-ease: whoever has worked on the title...great job! The song is catchy and probably THIS is what I was missing in their discography
Telepathy: Though this is mainly for ARMYs but, I love how we can dedicate this song to ppl we can't meet face to face. I didn't like the autotune first but, it grew on me and is actually the most fav song in this album
-Stay: This is what I can expect when Jk is involved in a song. RM's part "we connect to 7G" like wow they really emphasised on '7' here too hehe
And the aesthetics..they were simple but quite trendy.
Now, THIS sort of album is most suitable as a corona album/song. And it makes me sad that it didn't get enough recognition as their other songs. It's like LGO is...forgotten and B-sides..who cares?? Woah so painful...
Anyways, if a person doesn't get the lyrics, I think, atleast the music surely will get into her/his feels.
Good morning and please delete if not allowed.
No, the title isn't a direct question, it's more so the name of an experiment I'd like to conduct to find the community's favorite Tame Impala song. I've done something similar to this for another artist in a different sub and it worked out pretty well so I was hoping I could do the same here. What I've done is pulled 64 pieces of work from Kevin's discography and seeded them according to Spotify stream data. From there, I simply created a single-elimination bracket with all 64 songs. The experiment itself will be done through Google forms. Simply pick your favorite of 2 songs for each matchup in each round, and after some time, I'll declare a winner of that round and we'll repeat the process for the following rounds.
I only included the top 64 songs across Tame's albums, B-sides, and EP's. No remixes, features, or live versions were considered
To help you out a bit, (not that you might need it), I've put abbreviations for each album after the song title. Some of which are self explanatory (IS = InnerSpeaker, L = Lonerism, C = Currents, TSR = The Slow Rush, TI = Tame Impala EP, SS/RM = Sundown Syndrome/Remember Me, <album>-B = <album> B side)
Usually, I like to give it a day or 2 for each round of voting but that will depend on the turnout. I'll keep everyone updated through posts like these between rounds. Below is the link to the form with all the first-round matchups. Vote for your favorites if you want to see them advance to the later rounds! Thank you for participating!
Edit: Oh my stars what a turnout! This is already going better than the last time I did this experiment, I mean over 300 votes in the first round?! That's unreal to me, Thank you all for participating in round one. I'm going to lock the form in about 7 hours so you have some time to get those picks in before I start the cycle over with the remaining 32 songs.

From their official sites no less. Apologies if much of this was already known
Inspired by the recent reupload of Momo no Mori, I decided to try seeing if I could find anything more regarding the missing Peach albums (and the lost songs from said albums). I know that their official site around the time Stigma was released was fairithm.com, so I decided to check the archives for any news/info about their earlier albums/songs.
From the Wayback Machine, from about 2002 (when they moved from geocities to fairithm.com) to sometime in 2006-2007 (before the release of Gothic Lolita Propaganda) they hosted short (1-2 minutes) streaming samples of some of their early songs on their official site
This was what was available in 2002. The most interesting track on that list is ๆๅพใฎ่ฉฉ, since so far it's a lost song. Unfortunately the audio itself was not archived so we can't recover it from here.
Also it appears that before they signed with Lantis, they released new singles directly on their site through limited download; the above page shows that mp3 downloads for ใใชใซใด have now concluded (this later includes Last Moment and some other stigma tracks), which is pretty neat.
A later-archived page exists as well: ๆๅพใฎ่ฉฉ is gone (along with some of their other earlier songs), but we now have some more Stigma tracks, as well as Get Over (rendered here as Getover). This time, there's also some archived audio to go along with it. The archive has 5 wma's, of which 4 are actually audio (though for some reason in the url list they're listed as plaintext). These are:

m04: 1:52 of an early/alternate arrangement of Last Moment
m05: 1:22 of Get Over

(Happy 2022 from New Zealand)
Hello my fellow kpop and music enthusiasts, I am here to do the most for my ult by providing exhibits of how Seventeen, as an idol group has been really involved in their own production process. The method used is to simply match the songs they have written to the songs they were reported to like and enjoy.
Why am I doing this? Honestly, just to give people an idea about how genuine the "self-producing" title is for SEVENTEEN, and to perish the thought that non fans have saying that they're not creative enough or their production is not any different to other prod teams with member contribution. I mean I could show clips of how they talk about how they come together to brainstorm blah blah, but that has limitations due to bias in translation ,,, so the most objective way to show the influence and involvement of each member is via the song preferences they have that pop up in their discography.
WARNING : MULTIPLE LINKS AHEAD
I'm doing this for Attacca , which is their latest album and apart from proving how each song takes into consideration the music they listen to, it also shows the broad influence of music for each member. And I think this is why we have such a huge range of genre for songs in the seventeen discography, because we have thirteen heads with different tastes and opinions who are willing to work and contribute into their songs. So regardless of whether there is an official "credit" to a member, I'm still putting other members' song preferences to the songs. I have to since I combed through each playlist to see which song fits the best for each Attacca track.
To You : instrumental is very much inspired by atmospheric type of EDM with climbing electric guitar riffs. Steady bass drums plus echoing synths, bassline is passed through a filter of some sort, with that 80s organ synthish structure topped by emotionally driven vocals, and high powered adlibs. Rapping is more subdued, and melodic rather than rhythmic. It is my favorite Bside of the album that's why I was able to dissect it so much.
Thanks to u/stunneralpha for the recommendation!
