A list of puns related to "Quality Street (confectionery)"
Whatβs your favourite?
I've been going around quite a few high street brands in the UK recently and was shocked by the lack of quality, even in places where I would normally think of as being mid-range such as M&S, Jack Wills, GUESS, NEXT. For a start, the only things sold are boring black/ grey colours with a logo, but the thing that really got me though was how thin and cheap feeling the fabric are.
It almost seems pointless trying to shop in person anymore, it's all cheap and there's nothing interesting. I also went into urban outfitters, I would generally consider it to be mid-range. When I looked at some of the sweatshirts, I noticed they were the exact same ones that were being sold in topman a year ago for about Β£20 (just a large graphic printed on it) except marked up to around Β£50.
Other brands such as H&M and zara, which I would have considered to be on the more affordable end of the market, have kicked things into full gear and only appear to offer the cheapest, gutter-level quality. That includes jeans which are see through and t-shirts with hardly any material.
I understand the nature of fast fashion, it's evidently a lot more profitable to peddle cheap clothes with large mark-ups and occasionally offer steep discounts to lure people in. I don't understand why people keep buying into it though? Surely people must pick up on the fact that they don't last very long. It has made nice clothes a complete rarity. I can't go shopping for clohtes in-person anymore, I don't sya that to sound like a snob; I like wool knitted jumpers and straight legged jeans, I haven't seen these things available once in-person.
This has turned into quite the rant, I could go on and share more anecdotes. In summary, most clothes are of extremely low quality and even when there are nicer fabrics on offer, such as Michael Kors and Ted baker, it tends to be just generic black/ grey cottons.
Are you able to visualise it or is it too far-fetched to even imagine?
I canβt put my finger on it but they arenβt like they used to be thatβs for sure. All the chocolate tastes like orange or strawberry for starters, and most of them just taste βnaffβ.
Cadbury Heroes the new leader IMO :)
They used to be my favourite but now Iβm worried that they will pull out my filling. My childhood is officially over.
I know it's late but I need to know
So as you guys might know they've just reopened Tom's Confectionery Warehouse in Nundah and I was pretty keen to check out the options and facelift. I will say the customer service was great and the shop looks nice... but the prices are completely crazy.
$7.50 for a plain bag of Mars pods, $6 for a bag of mnms, $22 for a guilyan choccie box, $8 for Jack link's jerky, $4.50 for a small bag of Allen's lollies, $18.95 for the old 1kg Allen's bags (that used to be $10-$12 bucks). These aren't big or bulk, just standard sizes. The assorted lollies are okay but pretty similar to most cinema/lolly shops around at $3.90 for 100g. Very few of the old bulk products can be purchased now, also.
Unless you're going for speciality goodies that you can't get elsewhere the competitive pricing is long gone because of the novelty and excitement. 7/11 or supermarkets do most of these cheaper.
Here's to hoping the prices adjust as it's open for longer and the novelty wears off.
What are good cool ways to reuse them, don't want to just throw them out they look like they could be useful
I'm going to have a very hot bath to boil away the shame. Might try and eat a bit of broccoli at some point and all.
Just the title. Thanks!
I am heading to Norway in January (unless Covid restrictions prevent me) and since I'll be there for a few weeks, I plan to go to a supermarket to try and sample some of Norway's best snacks and chocolate. Can anyone recommend the best Norwegian chocolate and other snacks to purchase while I'm there?
What are some other uniquely Norwegian products I should try? Definiely want to try brunost so far.
My heart will never not drop when I see Strawberry Delights and Orange Cremes sitting where my Toffee Pennies and Fudges could have been.
They all taste like old people chocolate. There is a MASSIVE amount of the red snd orange ones, when theyβre the ones that no one likes. Theyβre also just kind of boring and alot of them taste almost exactly the same.
Oh and also, theyβre produced by NestlΓ© - a disgusting unethical company that has monopolised a majority of the industry.
So yeah, fuck quality street.
Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful. And it's true I do enjoy a Quality Street. But please stop.
I thought this would be a fairly straightforward no, but having made a post about my dislike for the two "chocolates" on r/casualuk I found there are a lot absolute wrongens who want to loose teeth to a box of chocolates. What do you (dis)like about them?
We had a huge tin Iβve been working my way through, and as we neared the end (5 or 6 or so) my husband got rid of the tin and put the rest in the door of the fridge. I just went fridge picking (dinner in about 30 mins) and absent-mindedly ate a red one. It was delicious! The best ever!
Looking for someone who loves starmix fried eggs (eugh) and hates tangfastics fizzy cherries so I can have them all. Bounty lover is preferred.
