Is it just me or is the age of the players coming through Q school this season quite worrying?
Event 2 ended today and the 4 players who received tour cards were Barry Pinches (50), Mick Judge (45), Alfie Burden (44) and Craig Steadman (38)
The average age is in the mid 40s which has to be a concern. Where is the young talent coming through? I know there’s a lot of young Chinese players who tend to fall off and get back on the tour but there’s a massive lack of talent from Europe, UK and Ireland. Just seemed a surprise to see how poorly the younger players are doing and made me wonder what state the tour will be in 10/15 years from now
Hi there, quick question for you all.
In the past (before the 7-day restriction) I did a lot of low tier trading (knives between 100-200 euros) for wich i mainly used the old csgolounge site.
Now on my return to CSGO and some trading I noticed every 'trading-site' is just bots with terrible rates.
Is this way off low tier 'player to player' trading entirely gone?

I’m a CS and math/stats major. My schedule is pretty full and I can only fit in one course in (univariate) real analysis. My school says its helpful to at least take one class in real analysis for their stats phd program, preferably one in multivariate real analysis. But I’m not sure I would be able to. Is that bad? I’d honestly want to pursue computational stats, machine learning and such in graduate school anyway and real analysis is more helpful for the theory side, right?
P.s. I’ll most likely only do a masters in graduate school- not sure about a PhD yet. And I wanna study and work in the data science/computational side of stats.

So been interested in darts for years. Playing at the pub and with the friends for the past 6 years never been serious, always after a couple drinks and what not. I want to get serious right now average is crap around 45 for 501. Is throwing 500 to 1000 darts with purposeful practice plus playing in a pub league to be able to decent in Q school next year?

- Computer Engineering vs. Computer Science vs. Electrical Engineering?
- There have been plenty of famous computer engineers with backgrounds in each of these areas. Furthermore, these degrees can vary significantly between universities. A great place to start is looking at the specific curriculum of the universities you are thinking of/are attending, and seeing if it has the things you are interested in.
- Can I get job X/Y/Z with a computer engineering degree?
- Look at some job listings! If a listing says computer engineering, computer science, or related area degree, you should be fine! Relevant skills are typically more important than the name of the degree.
- How important is the name/ranking of the university?
- From my experience, apart from a few universities, the name means less than people think it does. For many mid-range to good universities, the interviewing person isn't going to know anything about the program unless they personally went there, or have some direct connections. Things like skills/experience are (in my experience) more important.
- What laptop should I get?
- Personally, I would caution over-buying on a laptop. I found something in the $650 price range to be a good fit for me. I also don't care about buying new electronics. My previous two laptops have been a refurbished Dell XPS 13, and a refurbished Lenovo T480.
- Is school X better than school Y?
- In a lot of cases, there is no obvious answer to this question, especially for undergraduate degrees. University rankings are often a very poor resource for comparing schools. Look at the programs, and see which ones have the best resources for your situation. You can use rankings to get a very rough estimate of school quality, and where it sits in relation to other schools.
- Should I take class X/Y/Z?
- There are really two questions to answer there. The first is, are you trying to see if you like a certain topic? If so, only you can answer that. The second is, are you trying to use this for a job in the future? If you're not looking at jobs that use that particular class, it won't be very helpful.

Bit of a weird one - I go to a snooker "members" club in England (30£ a year membership so not a super high brow place). I go to this club all the time, and when taking the membership they take your name, number, address, email address and picture.
Today I was served by a new bartender, who also clocks in the time you start playing. I wasn't drinking, but played a couple hours of snooker with my friends. We go to leave and the bartender stops me and tells me I'm attractive - I say thanks, that's kind of you to say and leave (not that it's at all relevant, but I'm in a long-term relationship).
He then WhatsApps me telling me he wants to get to know me etc and I ask where he's gotten my number from and he says he got it off the system. I feel really furious that this can just happen - is that legal to do?! I feel like my data has been misused (also as a previous victim of identity fraud my data getting misused makes me anxious)
Edit: thanks everyone so much for your responses. Following the text telling him to stop and that it was wrong to get my number off the system he apologised, said he'd delete my number and didn't think it through. I had already gotten in touch with the club and asked for retraining and didn't give them the number of the guy because I said I didn't want him to lose his job but I DID want everyone to be made aware that this was illegal. They haven't gotten back to me yet (have said 24h)
