The ratings of the season 3 premiere are an improvement over last season's average, but those numbers - even if they stay stable and don't drop during the season - are far from guaranteeing a renewal.

We mustn't wait for potential bad news to start pushing for renewal. The more presence the show has, the more recognition and new viewers it will gain. We need to keep it under the spotlight as often and as long as possible and convince more people to watch.

There are a lot of people who would certainly enjoy the show still haven't given it a try because they underestimate or haven't even heard enough of it.

• If you live in US/Canada and have cable, watch it live!!

> It goes without saying, but if you can watch the broadcast on Syfy/Space on wednesdays 9/8c, then do it, even if you're already recording it, because it allows you to help it trend on social media by reacting about it around the time it's airing.

> Record the show and watch it later too. Syfy do get data about the number of people who record a show and then watch it, irrespective of the Nielsen system (the standard ratings system). That means Syfy also pay close attention to same day, +3days and +7days viewings, both recorded on TV and online, so watch it as soon as possible.

> If you're a Nielsen home, please, you must absolutely take control of the remote when The Expanse is on air and turn the TV on at all costs. One single TV in a Nielsen home represents thousands of viewers in ratings (and it takes account of what's on each TV if there are more than one).

• If you live in US/Canada but don't have cable, buy the season pass!!

>If you're a cordcutter in North-America without access to Syfy, please buy the season pass, don't pirate the show. Digital sales have a huge importance in the equation for ALCON, who owns the show.

• Spread the word on social media.

> Make noise on Twitter on the day of broadcast and the day after. Use the hashtags #TheExpanse and #RenewTheExpanse everytime you post/comment/retweet something about the show, on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and everywhere else, make sure people see the name of the show. We have to make it trend as often and as long as possible, especially around the time it's on air.
